Her name is Artoria Pendragon, better known as Arthur Pendragon/King Arthur, who is considered a man in history. She is a legendary British hero known as the King of Knights (騎士王, Kishi-Ō). She was the one who pulled the sword from the rock, Caliburn, though it was destroyed in the end. She then obtained Excalibur and Avalon from the Lady of the Lake.
Arthur is a hero who is known as a model for knighthood, it is said that she actually existed as "Dux Bellorum", the leader of the war, and was a great general who led the 12 kings of Northern England, Gododdin, who prevented the invasion of powers such as Scotland and the Picts.
Artoria was born in a time of chaos and war that began with the collapse of the Roman empire. In preparation for the war against the barbarians, the Romans seized the island of the British province from the military forces remaining there. After Britannia lost the protection of the empire, it eventually became independent, causing it to disintegrate into smaller nations afterwards. As barbarian invasions and destructive strife between clans began a long period of war that would later become known as the "Dark Ages", Artoria was born during this period as heir to the throne, daughter of the King of England, Uther Pendragon, and Igraine, wife of Uther's servant, Duke of Cornwall. The king, believing in Merlin's prophecy, longed for the birth of a successor, but the child born was a girl, not the one he wanted.
It is said in legend that Arthur, she was left in Merlin's care as payment for his help in making Uther's love for Igraine a success, and Merlin says,
"I will guide this child well, who will bring great destiny, and protect him from the crisis of the royal family."
The truth was, that Artoria was not a son, so the king couldn't make her the successor even if she was destined to become a king one day. She was entrusted to the king's vassals and raised as the son(daughter) of an ordinary knight. The king fell into despair at the situation, but Merlin was happy that gender didn't matter to the future king. She was sure that the fact of the girl was ignored.
Merlin places Artoria in the care of Sir Ector, a simple and wise old knight, who raises her as his adopted son *bruh and successor. Even though Ector didn't believe in the prophecy, he felt the same aura from the girl as he felt from his king. He felt that he should raise her as a knight, and wished her well. Artoria trains every day to become the strongest. She vows to take up her sword arguing that "only a king can save a country that is crumbling to death" despite never being told her true identity. During that time, she grew up with Sir Kay as her brother, but they still love each other as brothers after she learns the truth of their relationship. She acts as Kay's bodyguard and receives training from him. She was better than Kay in swordsmanship, but she never beat him in a fight because Kay always declared himself victorious.
As soon as the foretold day arrived, knights and rulers from all over the land gathered to be chosen as king. Each expected a selection by the jousting method (two knights riding horses while fighting with a lance, not a spear) to select the most superior to become king, but the only thing prepared at the selection site was a sword without a scabbard stuck in a stone with an inscription on it. gold on the hilt, inscribed,
"Whosoe'er pulleth out this sword of this stone is rightwise king born of England."
Many knights held the sword and tried to follow orders, none of them could pull it out. When they wanted to start the selection method by jousting, Artoria, a student apprentice who was not qualified to join Jousting, approached the already deserted selection stone and reached out to draw the sword without hesitation.
Before reaching for it, Merlin appeared before her, to tell her to think things over again before pulling them out. Merlin tells her that she will no longer be human when she draws the sword, but she only replies with a nod because she has been prepared for the fact that "to be a king means to be no longer human" from the moment she was born. She knew that a king was someone who would kill everyone to protect everyone. She thought about it every night and shuddered until morning came. Although she had always been afraid of that fact, she had said that it would end today. The sword was pulled out with ease, and the area was filled with light. She became something that wasn't human at that moment. This started the era of the king who would become a legend. Her body stopped growing at the age of 15, when she pulled Caliburn off the rock.
Artoria ruled England from Camelot, and having become king like her father, she had many knights under her, including the venerable Knights of the Round Table. Her growth stopped the moment she drew the sword because of the magic of the sword, many knights were afraid that bad things would happen after seeing the effect of the sword. But most praised their king's immortality as a god. The battle that followed was considered an act of the god of war. She always leads from the front, and no enemy stands in her way. She had never experienced defeat. She continued to taste victory for 10 years and 12 battles as she lived her reign as king. She never turned around and was never humiliated. She was raised as a king and fulfilled her obligations as a king.
Unable to provide an heir, Merlin uses magecraft to make her a pseudo-male to produce sperm for an unknown duration. During that period, she was attracted by her sister, Morgan le Fay, who took some of Artoria's sperm, developed it in her own ovaries, and gave birth to the homunculus and Artoria's clone, Mordred. She was born and raised without Artoria's knowledge, quickly growing up and she managed to join the Round Table through her own efforts and Morgan's recommendation. She worshiped her king while hiding her identity, and she was delighted to learn of his ancestral heritage.
After claiming the inheritance and right to the throne in front of Artoria, Artoria completely rejected Mordred, and refused to acknowledge her as the heir. Mordred believes the reason that she is not accepted is because of the hatred her father gave to Morgan, and that no matter how much she tries to defeat the others, she will forever be seen as a tainted existence. The love she had for the king up to that point was so great that her refusal had her hatred ignited.
She married Guinevere, but that was only out of political obligation. The truth is Lancelot, one of Artoria's closest friends, and Guinevere love each other, and because Artoria hides her gender, Guinevere has to bear the burden of her entire life. Guinevere feels guilty for her actions, but is relieved that Lancelot is in love with her. Lancelot, who shared the same ideals as the king, would share the burden with him, and not cause the country to fall into a dangerous situation. He did so, supporting Guinevere and protecting the King from the darkness on his unrighteous path.
Although some people become suspicious of her, only her father, Merlin, and Kay know the truth of her identity. She had completely covered her body with steel to seal that truth in her entire life, and because of her immortality from the protection of the fairies, no one questioned her small body or girl-like looking face. She was respected by the knights as a handsome king, considered an invincible warrior.
Back then, people who lived in fear of invasion only wanted a strong king, and knights would only follow excellent commanders. After meeting these criteria, no one questioned it. She is considered fair and unselfish as she always stands in front of the troops while defeating her enemies on the battlefield. While many enemies and civilians died, the choices the king made were always considered right, and she served as king better than anyone else. No one doubted it.
Her troops reconstructed the lost cavalry, and without knowing the loss, they ran into the battlefield while defeating foreign troops and breaking through many fortresses. Many people joined the battle. It was common for the military to fulfill its needs by siphoning all resources from local villages to supply battles under the pretext of protecting the country. It could be said that no knight had killed more people than her, and it was unknown if she had ever felt that as a burden.
She firmly kept the oath that a king was not human and that a king could not protect people with human emotions. She never squinted in sorrow while sitting on the throne, and she solved every problem while working hard on government affairs. She managed to balance the country without any deviation, and she punished people without a single fault. Even after, winning the battle, commanding the citizens without interference, and punishing hundreds of criminals, one of her knights (Tristan) muttered, "King Arthur doesn't understand human feelings."
There was a possibility that everyone felt that way, the more perfect she became a king, the more they needed to question her as a ruler. They felt that emotionless humans could not command others, which caused several knights to leave Camelot. She just accepted this as a normal part of the governance process. From the start, she didn't change her mind even if she was abandoned, feared, or betrayed.
Lancelot's relationship with Guinevere is finally revealed through the plot of a traitor who hates Camelot, causing them to oppose. Artoria did not see this act as treason, as she understood Guinevere's sacrifice because she had always hidden her gender. She was still acting as a king, and Guinevere would be executed. Lancelot can't stand it when she is punished, comes with a tragedy where nothing is right and nothing is wrong.
The scabbard of Excalibur (Avalon) was stolen while she was fending off attacks along her country's borders, when she returned she found England in crisis by civil unrest. Despite her valiant efforts to pacify dissent, she is mortally wounded by the traitorous knight, Mordred during the Battle of Camlann. Her dying body was escorted to the sacred island by Sir Bedivere. Artoria orders the grieving Bedivere to dispose of Excalibur by throwing it back at the Lady of the Lake, reflecting on her personal failure, regretting her life as king. Before her last breath, she begged the world, in exchange for serving the world as a Heroic Spirit, she asked to be given the opportunity to find the Holy Grail to save her country.

—Saber
Excalibur: Sword of Promised Victory ( , Yakusokusareta Shōri no KenEkusukaribā) is the strongest and most majestic holy sword that symbolizes King Arthur.
Excalibur was a Divine Construct, the pinnacle of all holy swords, and the strongest holy sword on par with Sigurd's strongest demon sword, Gram. One of the ultimate weapons forged by the gods, the Last Phantasm, was forged by the planet itself as the crystallization of humanity's desires. It was guarded by extensions of the planet, the fairies, before being passed on to King Arthur by the Lady of the Lake and then returned to the lake before her death. It replaces the destroyed Caliburn, and its scabbard, the Avalon, grants the wielder partial immortality. It is said that this sword, which is born (resurrected) in the deep sea of the planet, only gives true power when an enemy that threatens the planet appears. Even though it was a powerful sword, it was said that Avalon was more valuable to her. It is said that she answered Merlin's question about which one has more value and she answered the sword clearly, the court magician scolds the king because the sheath that protects is more important than the sword that slashes the enemy. She lost Avalon during the war, and replaced it with Invisible Air, which she used during the Holy Grail War to hide her sword and identity.
There is a theory that Caladbolg is the same as Caledfwlch from Welsh mythology, making him the prototype of Excalibur.
While there were many other Noble Phantasms that were better made and with better skills, Excalibur was something far superior to them. It was not a sacred weapon, made from people's conceptions, a legend woven purely from hope. This is not a myth or an inhuman work, but a "crystal carved by the heart itself", making it reign as the strongest fantasy weapon. This is the crystallization of the prayer called "glory" and everything that is engraved in the human heart, which is scattered in the radiance of the sword, be it the nostalgic, sad, and holy dreams of those who are placed in the bloody hell called the battlefield, of all the warriors of the past, present, and future, are completely exposed to the fear of death and despair. Seeing his light made Gilgamesh remember Enkidu, and even made Gilles de Rais, who had fallen into brutality and stained with sin, recall the light and glory of his past that had been engraved in his heart before it was broken.
Excalibur is a typical Western sword that is 90cm long and 12cm wide, and it has Fairy Letters inscribed on it to indicate that it is not the work of a human. Usually coated with Invisible Air to hide his identity and increase his destructive power. Brings tremendous power. Its destructive power varies widely, with the Invisible Air showing strengths from 80-90 and the gold version (without the invisible water and mentioning his name) showing a strength of around 1000. While it took her some time to figure out the Noble Phantasms and other Servants' identities, Lancer was able to deduce her identity as King Arthur. from just looking at the sword, claiming that any Heroic Spirit who had used to traverse time and space to join the Holy Grail War would never mistake such a thing.
Excalibur is a "strengthening sword", converting the user's magic energy into offensive power and releasing it. It is a directive energy weapon that converts the user's magical energy into light by accelerating it by the factor of the dragon, amplifying kinetic energy with convergence and acceleration, allowing for the use of Divine-Spirit level thaumaturgy. This was a weapon that released light energy equivalent to Artoria's total magic energy from the tip of the sword once the blade was swung. To an observer, it looked like a gigantic ray of light, but the target point of attack was only at the tip. This was a slash that cut through everything in the area the light penetrated. Its immense power heats the space around the tip, and as a result, it is interpreted as a light wave that cuts across the earth's surface. Even if avoided, those who were nearby could still be distracted by its intensity for a while.
In terms of strength against other NPs with pure strength, only Ea was known to be able to balance or even surpass her. The speed required for activation was less than a second, slightly exceeding Iskandar's Via Expugnatio.
Both hands are required to use Excalibur, so losing access to one means being unable to use its original ability. After the tendons in his left hand were severed by Gáe Buidhe, leaving her unable to move his thumb or exert sufficient force to grasp the hilt of the sword, this inability was reflected when changing Excalibur's status to Anti-Unit.
For the calculation of NP dmg, we collect data first. With stat atk 12221 at level 90 (already 1000 fou), NP1 400%, atk up 18% from skill 1 level 10, buster up 50% and NP dmg up 30% from skill 2 level 10, base multiplier 1x, he generates NP dmg is about 38,806.32/enemy. That much damage makes her the strongest AoE of all classes (Berserker doesn't count)
2. Invisible Air – Barrier of the Wind King
Classification: Anti-Unit
Rank: C
Range: 1~2
Maximum number of targets: 1 object/person
Invisible Air: Barrier of the Wind King ( , Fū-Ō Kekkai Inbijiburu Ea) is a sheath of wind that covers Excalibur and conceals it so that it cannot be easily recognized as King Arthur's holy sword. This was a Bounded Field that was more magecraft-like than Noble Phantasm, consisting of multiple layers of wind compressed into super high pressure air with lots of magic energy, which distorted the refraction of light and made what was inside completely invisible. Although it has no basis in history, Kinoko Nasu thinks this is Merlin's doing because Heroic Spirits with overly famous Noble Phantasms usually have a way of hiding their identity.
It is also possible to implement on objects other than the sword. She can form a barrier in the area around her or as a wind defense wall, which can remain active for several minutes with his magic energy. She used Ataraxia's Hollow to protect the entire Central Building.
They can't tell the length, width, range, or trajectory of the sword, or even know what weapon it is before contact through gunfights, which keeps them on high alert. Against an opponent who could quickly discern the nature of his weapon and correct visual disturbances, such as an Assassin with the "Eye of the Mind (False)" ability, and someone who was already familiar with weapons, such as a Berserker, or someone with resistance to visual barriers, this was no more than just the wind around the sword.
Compressed wind can also be released as a single projectile weapon called Strike Air: Hammer of the Wind King ( , Fū-ō TettsuiSutoraiku Ea). Acting like a hammer made of wind, it creates a storm made of super high pressure air strong enough to easily crush and blow troops away and throw stone slabs weighing several tons into the air as if they were nothing. It can only be blocked with a higher amount of magic energy. It can also be used to accelerate his own body towards his opponent, allowing her to travel at 3x his normal speed. Holding the sword in a backwards position, she releases air and becomes a supersonic bullet that strikes his opponent.
3. Avalon - The Everdistant Utopia
Classification: Barrier
Rank: EX
Maximum number of targets: 1 person
Avalon: The Everdistant Utopia ( 全て遠き理想郷アヴァロン Subete Tōki RisōkyōAvaron) is the sacred sheath of Excalibur, the embodiment of King Arthur's utopia, originally stolen from her shortly before the Battle of Camlann due to the conspiracy of Morgan le Fay. It is made of gold and decorated with blue enamel which looks more like a treasure to show dignity and glory like a crown or scepter than a weapon. No one knew what Divine Mystery this was, but it was created by the fairies along with the creation of the Excalibur, an inscription inscribed with fairy letters engraved in the center to indicate that it was not the work of a human. It bequeaths limited immortality through constant regeneration, as well as preventing physical damage caused by aging. The Utopia of Avalon is thought to have originated from the island that produced the "Apple of Immortality" in Greek Mythology.
This NP is not materialized from Throne of Heroes due to its unique stats. This is the original lost artifact, excavated in Cornwall at the request of Einzbern just before 4th HGW. Still in pristine condition after 1500 years, although it no longer functions without a connection to its original owner. Used as a catalyst to summon Artoria. This is then used to save Shirou's life at the end of 4th HGW, and is again used as a catalyst to summon him in 5th HGW.
The owner of this scabbard is granted powerful healing, allowing critical and fatal wounds to heal quickly. Minor injuries could be recovered easily, and even the loss of many limbs and the destruction of vital organs such as the heart could be quickly healed as long as it wasn't dead. It does have a limit in healing the body, as an antidote to Gae Bolg's curse takes a lot of time to heal and during the battle between Ea and Excalibur, the wounds received by Saber took several minutes to heal. Also makes Kiritsugu able to do time accel repeatedly, even though time accel is a magic that damages the body and gives excruciating pain. Even though the wound could be healed, Kiritsugu still felt the pain. The reason why Kiritsugu was able to endure all these years from Angra's curse was also because of Avalon. When Avalon was transferred to Shirou's body, he soon died of a curse.
Its function as a Noble Phantasm is an "absolute defense" that completely protects its user in the land of the fairies, Avalon, the unreachable utopia that King Arthur dreams of. This is the greatest protection in the world, completely isolating the user into a world separate from the real world. Avalon transforms into countless tiny particles in the air and engulfs the user to become a "portable fortress" that seals off all attacks. This was the Bounded Field of the land of the fairies and did not allow anything to harm the King who stood on the land of Avalon. The user is protected from all destructive interference in the physical world, transliners from parallel worlds, and multidimensional communication of the sixth dimensional level. Being at the True Magic level. Even Five Magic couldn't break through this barrier.
ACTIVE SKILL
1. Charisma
Rank: B
Effect: Increases party's attack (18% at level 10) for 3 turns.
Cooldown: 7/6/5
Her influence was not enough to build a large empire on a global scale, so staying at rank B was enough to rule over a single country. Even though she was the protector of the British Isles, not even her charisma could stop the kingdom from falling apart. As a natural talent for leading troops, it increased the capabilities of her troops during war. Saber was easily able to fight alongside the others, and although she and Lancer had only fought once, she was able to learn all of the secret techniques. They were able to understand each other without explanation. For gameplay, this skill is enough to help her output DMG.
2. Mana Burst > Dragon Reactor Core
Rank: A > B (with strengthening)
Effect: Increases own Buster performance (50% at level 10) for 1 turn + Increases own NP damage (30% at level 10) for 1 turns + Changes own all Command Card's type to Buster for 1 turn.
Cooldown: 7/6/5
All of Saber's fighting styles and powers are based on her Mana Burst ability. She infuses and collects magic energy into his weapon and body, which allows a tremendous boost by releasing magic energy instantly to strengthen herself. It could be called a burst of magical energy to increase his movement in close combat. This made it possible for even sticks to become powerful weapons of this rank, but normal weapons without strong divine protection would not be able to defend themselves and would be destroyed with a single strike.
Her body was physically weak, and she would be even weaker than Shirou and Rin if she didn't use this skill. This was the secret that had allowed her to swing his greatsword with the combat style of a fighter, and she was able to strengthen his body's abilities using magical energy to the point of being able to fight monsters like a Berserker even with the body of a little girl. Each of his powerful attacks contained quite a bit of magic energy. If Lancer's attack is like a sniper, then Saber's attack can be likened to a shotgun.
She could create huge waves around her to kill creatures like Horrors (Caster's small tentacle monsters), slashing them into slices of flesh. She used Mana Burst to compensate for his lack of strength while holding Excalibur with one hand after being injured by Gae Buidhe, but it drained more energy and he couldn't use his full power. For gameplay, this really affects his NP. After the upgrade, this skill also adds a cool effect that makes all of his Command Cards Busters. It's really easy if you want to Buster chain.
3. Instinct > Radiant Road
Rank: A > EX (there is a strengthen quest)
Effect: Charges own NP gauge (30% at level 10) + Gains critical stars (15 stars at level 10)
Cooldown: 7/6/5
Saber has a highly honed instinct that gets her through many battles, allowing her to instantly identify the best course of action during battle. These are highly capable senses that are innate, unlike something acquired through hard work like Eye of the Mind (True). Allows for attack prediction, such as from firearms, and she can be said to have protection against all projectile weapons. It is also possible to negate the penalty inflicted by visual and auditory disturbances. Even though she couldn't keep up with Kuzuki's snake style attack, she was able to dodge it purely through instinct.
This reminded her of the dangers of the enemy, such as sensing the threat from Caster even though she was a magus and sensing the Berserker's presence only from his killing intent.
Even though she felt the Assassin was harmless, his instincts told her she had a way to kill even without a Noble Phantasm, and told her not to underestimate him, warning her about Tsubame Gaeshi.
This allowed her to turn around and jump back from the attack as if she knew it was going to happen. Against Tsubame Gaeshi, she could see a small gap made by the slightly bent Assassin's sword. Lancer is able to trick Saber with tactics using his Noble Phantasms, leaving her unable to predict his mistakes. She was also able to dodge many of Kuzuki's attacks through pure instinct, though she failed in the end. Even thoughs he could choose the best course of action and follow that view normally, she couldn't even feel any chance of victory against Gilgamesh. It was as if the chances of winning were extremely low and the chances of coming back alive were zero.
For gameplay, this skill is really outdated. Plus the star absorption is normal, so it's a bit difficult to manage.
Edit, she recently got an upgrade, so she has an NP charge, so it's really suitable for farming.
PASSIVE SKILL
1. Magic Resistance
Rank: A
Effect: Increases own debuff resistance by 20%.
The immense magic power of the dragon blood gave her an extremely strong Magic Resistance which was the highest among Servants, and increased after becoming a Servant. It is capable of completely neutralizing any magic at rank A or below, including grand magic, as well as those from the Age of Gods. She noted that divine mysteries greater than herself, such as True Magic and Phantasmal Species with divinity, could defeat her. There was a possibility that it wouldn't work to its full potential if she was targeted by dragon slaying magic.
Her Magic Resistance was even able to resist forced orders from a single CS, though she had a hard time defending. Under Caster's command, she is left in a state of no freedom and his abilities are lowered to the point where Caster can torture her with magic as long as she refuses to follow suit.
She couldn't be directly injured by magecraft, so she always attacked fearlessly. However, it is not effective against Caster's Prelati's Spellbook because Magic Resistance is only activated when she is targeted by magecraft, and the creatures from the book manifest and carry a different threat than magecraft.
2. Riding
Rank: B
Effect: Increases own Quick performance by 8%.
Saber has a fairly high rank in this skill because knights are warriors who are proficient in warfare. Chariots and normal transport could be easily ridden, but she couldn't control Pegasus, Griffons, Dragons, Magical Beasts, and Divine Beasts that were members of the Phantasmal Species. She couldn't handle such high-level creatures because his class wasn't Rider, and because of the fact that she was King in Age of Man. She is able to drive modern machines such as motorcycles and cars. His rank became A when Kiritsugu became his Master. She drove Irisviel's Mercedes-Benz 300SL Coupe and a Yamaha V-Max prepared by Kiritsugu during the 4th HGW.
