MISSING KATIE PT.I { SUMMER'S POV }

I have two hours left before I enter the plane, I decide to call my bestfriend. Desiree. I pull out my phone in my pocket and facetime her, I look around and put my luggage beside me. "Hey, Summer." Desiree greets me as I smile, "Hi, how's your day?" She looks down and looks back to the camera, she probably grabs something.

"Nothing much, yours?" "Well, I'm just outside." I didn't want Desiree to know I'm going somewhere, especially out of the damn country. "Are you sure? Cause you look like you're at a crowded place." She looks suspicious on me, either way, she's gonna find out where I am now anyway.

"Summer Marinie, are you in the fucking airport?!" Told you she would find out, her face looks like she's scared. "I-I... uhm.. yes?" I give her a fake smile as she sighs. "Where in the world are you going?" I nervously look around and look back at her, "To her." Her eyes grow wide as she sighs. "I told you this already, I even promised that we're going to see her soon." She said

Desiree and I planned to see Katie once everything is okay, it was also her promise that we're both going to see her together with everyone.

"But Dessy, I want to see her so bad. I-I just— I miss her." I look down and in hoping not to cry, "Sums?" I look at her, "It's just— they don't understand her like we do, Dessy. Everyone's being a bitch to a person who's been through a lot."

My eyes start to get watery, as I try not to cry. "She needed us, Desiree. She needed us, and I just— we didn't see it." A tear fall. "Summie, don't cry. I can see she's starting to cry too. "I lost someone, s-someone who saved my life. She's one of the reasons why I'm still here with you, Desiree." I said as I cry.

I couldn't hold my tears back anymore, I cry it all out. "I understand, Summer. I know, you told me a year ago and I'm so t-thankful for K-Katie because she saved my b-bestfriend." She said, one of my fears is losing someone I love, and I did lose someone. All because of one little mistake.

"I tried everything to stop them, but— but no one listened. I-I just wish Katie's alive." I didn't care about the people looking at me weird, I don't care if they think I'm crying because of something stupid. Katie Mae Hargreeves deserves better, and she could've been still here.

"I-I'll let you visit her, o-okay? As long as you— as long as you call me when you land and w-when you're at her g-grave, o-okay?" She sniffs as I nod. "We could've met her today, you know?" She chuckles and smiles. "Yeah, we could've. Along with Xia and the others too." I giggle and wipe the tears.

"Emylie tried to convince me with the proof they had on her but I didn't listen." She looks at me confused, "They don't know the whole story of Katie Hargreeves, Summer. Only a few people do." She said as I nodded. "And that few people is one of us, and I'm glad to be a part of it. I'm also glad to be a part of her life, even just a short period of time." I smile.

"I remember Xia telling me that she doesn't know what did she do to deserve Katie, and she's so grateful for her." I said as she smiles back, "And she said they never gave up on each other, that's how loyal and kind-hearted our sweet Katie Hargreeves is." She said.

I didn't know how many memories, Desiree and Katie made, but the facetime we both have didn't take long when my flight is called. "Flight 27481 to Manila, Philippines, please proceed to gate 13." "Well, that's my cue to leave, D.," I said as she pouts.

"Go see her, Summie." She smiles, "I love you, Des." "I love you too, Sums." We end the call as I grab my luggage and leave the seat to go to the gate.

"Kamusta! Welcome to the Philippines and enjoy your stay!" A flight attendant said as I smile at her, I quickly call Desiree even though she's asleep right now. "Do you realize it's the goddamn 2 am in the fucking morning?!" She angrily said as I giggle, "I have landed." I said as I hear rustling sounds on the other line. "You've landed after 19 hours?! Jesus Christ, Sums." That's all she has to say?

"Anyway, be careful. Sabina's could be anywhere in the Philippines." She added as I smile and chuckle, "I'll be fine, besides, she doesn't even know I'm here." I said, I walk where the luggage areas I quickly grab mine, and left. "And besides, I know where she lives," I added.

"I'll talk to you later, Des. Okay?" "Yeah." She softly said, she's really tired. I wonder what made her sleep late, I end the call. I look at my surroundings, the airport is really nice but crowded. I call an Uber and wait outside the terminal, it's currently 1 PM and I'm starving. I'll just probably go to the hotel, and find some near restaurant in the place. My uber comes as I get in and tell the driver to go to Microhotel, I look outside the window and see people.

"How was your flight, miss?" I look at the driver and give him a weak smile, "jetlag, but I'm fine. i just can't wait to visit my bestfriend." I said as I look at the window again, I can feel him smiling. "Surprising them, I assume?" "I wish... but she passed away," I said not looking at him. "I'm sorry for your lost, she must be a very kind person." He said as I look down and look at him, "Yeah, she was."

The ride took five hours for us to be in my destination. Which, I blame the traffic for. I look at the window, I don't this place. "Where are we?" He look at the mirror, looking at me. "We're in Eastwood, miss." I look at every building we pass by, as I see the Micro hotel.

"We have reached to your destination." He said as I pay him and get out of the car, carrying my luggage. "Good afternoon, ma'am." The guard said as I nod and enter the building.

— FOUR DAYS LATER —

I entered the cemetery, walking to the grave I want to see. When I finally come to the grave, I sit down next to it, and look at it. "Hey, Katie." I give her a weak smile. "How are you up there?" I look up in the sky, it's so bright shiny out here. "I miss you so much." I look down to my hands.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry that I wasn't there when you need me." Tears starts to fall as I look at her, "Why? Why you?" My phone starts to ring as I pull it out of my pocket, it was Desiree who's calling me. I quickly answer and clear my throat. "Hey, D." I said, not wanting her to know I was crying.

"Hey, Sums. Are you still in the hotel?" "No, I— uhm, I'm with Katie." She went silent for a while as I hear a sob in the background, she's crying? "Desiree?" I call her name, "Y-Yeah, I'm f-fine. So, can I s-see her?" She softly said as I take a picture of the grave and send it to her. She suddenly cry loud for me to hear.

"Desiree, hey, it's okay," I said as I put us on facetime. Her eyes are red and puffy from crying, and she still is. "I miss her. I miss talking to her, I miss everything." She said as I give her a weak smile. "Why does it have to be like this? Why can't they understand her like we do?" She cries harder.

"Desiree, don't cry. Please." I start to cry with her, "She's in better place now, D. I know we could've done something, but we're too late." I said, "I just can't help it, Summer. She's so pure and kind and they just—" She couldn't continue her sentence due to her crying.

"I know, Desiree. We all do, but we can't change what happened. If only we could turn back time, we could've." I said as our call ended, she couldn't handle how Katie's actually gone... forever.

"They never stop getting into your head, do they?" I look at the grave. They left a picture of her here, she wore this blue long dress, she was sitting on the floor while looking at the camera and wearing that beautiful smile. She looked like Cinderella in that dress. Our beautiful sweet Cinderella. I remember how she was proud of that photo, because she told us she was wearing one of the best dress she ever seen in her life. She gave her all in that photoshoot, she because she look delicate.

"Summer? Is that you?" I froze, this person could be one of the girls who caused her pain. I turn around to see…
