Chapter 61: A Mysterious Letter

They stayed out for most of the afternoon, and Violet was feeling much better.

Jack had a way to calm her, make her feel better every time she was sad, even though she recognized that lately she wasn’t giving him too much credit for his attempts.

Jack was amazing to her, always concerned and caring about her well being. But she had been so on the edge with the latest events, that she didn’t seem able to manage her feelings and actions.

That’s why she felt like apologizing to Jack for being an idiot before. Good thing he understood her and didn’t take it too seriously.

They made peace and got back to the mansion when the sun was setting. Violet was eager to take a shower and lay on her bed.

Her head was hurting like someone was hammering her skull from inside out.

The day had been too much for her. She still couldn’t take Gwen’s expression out of her mind. And even though she was trying hard to not blame herself, it was hard to believe that her sister had become someone so cold.
