Violet returned home in a rush, but remembered that Jack wasn’t going to be there when she arrived.


He said it could take a while to solve the issue in the outskirts, so she would have to wait.


She was getting really anxious while waiting for him, and she went through the conversation she had with Lance on her mind several times, to make sure she didn’t let anything skip her judgement.


She was feeling well, she didn’t feel in her guts that she had to suspect him. For the first time, she could say that her instincts were telling her the right thing.


Lance was a very honest man. She had never had a conversation with him where he didn’t say the truth to her face, even though he knew she could get hurt by what he had to say.


He liked to be straightforward, and even though he could be lying to her, giving all the facts and events happening lately, Violet still believed when he said he was by their side.
