Violet got a little offended by his observation.


She didn’t like to remember that she was fooled by Gwen’s true character.


Maybe she wasn’t fooled. Gwen could’ve changed after the latest events. It was not like she was someone bad her entire life.


“Gwen fooled all of us. Not even Lance saw what she did coming.”


Jack clenched his jaw. Violet could feel he was trying his hardest not to make a harsh comment towards her.


And he was drinking too fast. That was worrying her.


“Jack, look at me.” she said, coming closer to him. “Can't you trust me? You were the one scolding me last time for not trusting you, and now you can’t even believe me when I tell you he wasn’t lying.”


“It’s not about believing you or not, Violet. Don’t try to compare you hiding from me a threatening letter and me not believing that Lance has changed.” he got away from her as soon as her hand touched his face.


Jack turned his back to her and returned to look outside of the window.
