Chapter 2

Third Person POV

"Charge!!" shouted Prince Feng Ling, heir to the throne as Heavenly Emperor, soldiers running behind him to fight. At the point of collision with their enemy, the sound of swords clanking could be heard loud and clear. Prince Ling headed straight for the Demon Lord as he knew he was the only one that could fight him. Little did he know, the Demon Lord had a trick up his sleeve that even the future Heavenly Emperor couldn't run away from.

A man not too far away from the chaos of the battle, crouched with his bow and arrow ready to shoot upon signal. This is no ordinary arrow for Prince Ling is no ordinary man. Sword ready to strike, Ling was only a few meters away from his target when the one on his back was hit. He fell off his horse and through the clouds towards the earthly realm. Bài Jiang, his right hand man, had no choice but to continue fighting, hoping the prince would be able to make it back on time.

Yenays POV

I stare into his golden eyes as I lose myself in them, forgetting that he's a stranger that landed on my backyard. He is ethereal, definitely beyond human from the way he arrived. "Who are you?" he asked with a voice so deep but soothing. I couldn't form a simple sentence, I was entranced. What he said next shook me out of my trance..."Who am I?" he whispered to himself. I was baffled by his question because I should be asking him who he is but...maybe. "You lost your memory?" I asked. He simply nodded as I echoed the question in his mind. "You don't know who I am?" he questioned. "No, I've never met you before." I answered.

I stared at his hand on my wrist which he removed immediately upon noticing it. "Do you know anything about me?" he asks while attempting to sit and falling back down painfully. "All I know is that you came from the sky shining brightly..." I answered. "You look hurt, can I help you?" I ask him. He looks at me as if he's thinking about whether or not he can trust me. To reassure him I say, "you can trust me..I'm harmless." He gives in and allows me to help him up and into the small farmhouse that holds our garden tools.

I ran into the house to get the medicinal herbs. I run back to him and find him holding one of the shovels as if he'd never seen one before. "I'm back.." I say and he turns around and I notice his eyes were now hazel brown instead of the gold I saw earlier. Weird. I motion for him to sit down, I sit behind him and start applying the herbs on his back. He shows no signs of being in pain which is surprising because I always scream in burning pain when these herbs touch any of my wounds.

"All done," I say as I stand up and run back into the house and come back with a blanket and a pillow. "You'll have to stay here for now, I'll come back in the morning to give you food and...maybe...tell my parents that a stranger is living with us." I whisper the last part so he wouldn't be able to hear me. As I walk away I hear him say 'thankyou.'

Meanwhile in the Heavenly Realm

Bài Jiang POV

"Prince Ling, where are you?" I think to myself as I ride my horse towards the Palace. I inform the King of my presence before entering. "You may come in," says one of the palace guards. I run into the palace and place both of my hands in front of me, extending my arms and bowing before speaking. "Emperor Feng, the prince is lost," I say, getting straight to the point. "What!?" his voice booms and shakes me to the core. "What happened to my son?" Empress Feng speaks with tears almost falling from her eyes. "He was shot by an arrow-" I'm cut off by the Emperor saying "arrow?" in disbelief. "Not just any arrow Emperor Feng...the flasher." I said quietly, afraid of his reaction. "The flasher? he won't remember anything...he won't know how to get back, I need every soldier that knows his face to find him!" he shouted and with that, I ran out to relay the order. I went back to the battle field to hold this war for as long as I can. Prince Ling, I hope you find your way back soon.

Yenays POV

I woke up at the crack of dawn, right before my parents have to wake up. I went to the kitchen and made breakfast for everyone and took some to the man I left in the farmhouse. I gently knocked on the door. "Come in," he said. I opened the door and greeted him while placing his food in front of him. "Uhm..I have to tell my parents about you...maybe they'll let you stay until you regain your memory," I said. "No, I don't have to stay. I can just-" I cut him off by saying "No! you'll get lost and maybe even hurt if you just go by yourself without your memory." He just stared at me, surprised by my sudden outburst but agreed to stay.

Currently we are sitting on the floor of the living room looking like a couple about to ask to get married. My dad is glaring daggers at- hold up, I don't even know his name-this man, while my mother is shockingly smiling excitedly. "Who is this man Ai?" my dad asks me while still glaring at him. "Fùqīn, I don't know who he is because he lost his memory...he might get himself hurt if he wanders around alone. Please let him stay until he regains his memory." I plead with my father, bowing down. "Ai, are you sure about this?" my dad questions now looking at me. "Yes Fùqīn."
