Djinn of the Hunt

Ruḍaw, The Djinn of the Hunt.

One of the definitions for a hunt is;

" Pursue and kill (a wild animal) for sport or food.

But.

Ruḍaw is not that kind of a hunter. He prefers to work with the animals, instead of hunting them.

Ruḍaw has a long list of animal companions.

And here are some of them;

Vampire Finch.

Tear Drinker Moth.

Zombie Worms.

Medic Ants.

Bombardier Beetle.

Horror Frog.

Mantis Shrimp.

Kissing Bugs.

Wheel Bugs.

Ant Mimic Assassin Bug.

Common Water Strider.

Addanc.

The Saqqara Bird.

Some of Ruḍaw's companions are as you know them, and some of them have added supernatural elements.

Despite all his companions. Ruḍaw only has one companion - who is dear to him.

Her name is; Iod the Huntress.

Ruḍaw and Iod would go on many adventures, many hunts, together.

Iod was like Artemis for Ruḍaw, and Ruḍaw was like Orion for Iod.

These two friends were inseparable.

Ruḍaw and Iod were both doing what they usually do - enjoying each others company.

They were on a hunt; because of course they were.

They were "hunting" for Ruḍaw's Saqqara Bird, who had changed into a small Merlin bird.

Iod was following the tracks, as Ruḍaw was right behind her.

Ruḍaw now signaled to Iod; that he had spotted their target.

To shoot would have been too easy. So, the two of them had decided to catch the Saqqara Bird,

Iod went right, as Ruḍaw went left.

The Saqqara Bird, as a Merlin bird, was calmly sitting on the branch of a tree.

Ruḍaw and Iod could both be seen climbing said tree.

Both hunters did not move a muscle, as their prey showed a sign of awareness.

The bird's suspicion quickly vanished, as it looked relaxed once more.

Iod was right underneath the bird, as Ruḍaw was right above it.

On three - signaled Ruḍaw with hand and mouth.

The countdown began. When it reached zero… tragedy struck.

There was a bird's nest above the branch; from where the Saqqara Bird sat.

When Ruḍaw jumped, his head had hit the branch; making the nest fall to the ground.

Poor Iod blamed herself for not reacting fast enough to catch the nest.

All the baby chicks were dead, and the Djinn of the Hunt felt terrible.

Ruḍaw saw to rectify his mistake.

He asked the Djinn of Beauty for aid.

Al-'Uzzá sendt one of her Aralez.

These winged hounds have the ability to bring back the dead.

The baby chicks were alive once more.

And for some time.

Ruḍaw and Iod put their hunt on hold, as they had both decided to raise these chicks as their own.
