Aiden 2.3 Mode On

Enzo's POV

I didn't waste any more time and immediately went outside the Gomez Robotics while carefully carrying the full blooded Aiden in my arms. Everyone in the company was getting chaotic due to the unexpected incident happened in the middle of the project's launch. It was such a perfect time to see the newly arrived rescuers the moment I reached outside. They helped me to lay Aiden on the gurney bed while making sure that we're adding no harm or pain to his condition. Chairman and I stepped inside the ambulance to accompany my boss.

"Don't panic," he reminded me as if nothing serious was happening at the moment. There's no even a single emotion plastered on his face which leave me frightened. Are they this immune to this kind of incident that it didn't even flinch them?

On pins and needles. "What do you mean by don't panic? Chairman, your grandson's life is at stake, if you're not aware!" because of perturbation, I didn't notice my voice suddenly got escalated sans tearing my eyes off of Aiden who's currently lying on the stretcher, unconscious.

"His situation is no near to death. Trust my instinct, Mr. Romero." He looked at me meaningfully. Those kind of stares channeled a different sense of chills all over my body.

"How sure are you, Chairman? We both don't know how much damage he received from the killer." My voice started to crack a bit because I was too worried of my life, Aiden's life.

"Yes, you are not sure about his life. However, have you forgotten already who is his grandfather? It looks like you forgot that I am a Scientist." He hinted me a not so creepy yet strange smile that I have never seen from him before.

"What's the plan, then?"

"We'll talk about it at the main laboratory." after uttering those words, the ambulance stopped at the near hospital and both doors opened immediately. We're currently spending our time at the hospital, outside the emergency room to be specific whilst waiting for the result to come out.

"Janus, could you do me a favor of looking after Aiden while we're not around? We just have something to finish at the Main Laboratory." I heard Chairman said to his personal assistant. Janus accepted the favor wholeheartedly before he tilted his head down a bit to pay respect to the founder.

"Thanks."

"Chairman, where are we heading to?" I asked out of nowhere while passing the alley.

"Main laboratory," he answered in whisper and walked past me storming out the hospital.

We hop in his advanced car with a confused expression on my face. He asked me to take over the steering wheel for today's drive while he chose to sit on the backseat. Amidst the long and quiet travel, my mind was still in total lost due to the incident happened back in the conference hall. Now, it's getting clear to me why I need to protect Aiden with all cost.

"By just seeing how you reacted to the situation, I guess you're starting to doubt the kind of work you have in the company, am I correct?" he asked the question out of nowhere and in a monotonous voice.

"To be frank, I highly doubt this job firsthand but as I slowly see and understand Aiden's situation, I got the courage to stay." He just heaved a deep sigh and curved a smile as a response to my last line.

The travel spent almost two hours upon reaching the main laboratory. I signaled Chairman to walk first so that I will follow him from behind. He knows the reason why we're here today after all.

"You want to try?" he asked while looking back at me. He's standing before the huge monitor beside the wide and towering metal gate. I didn't give him any response instead I sauntered through the screen and let myself be scanned.

Couple of minutes or so have passed when there's this green laser line appeared on the screen wherein its purpose is to get my personal information for confirmation. After the line passed from my head to toe, my identity and hologram image suddenly flashed on the screen indicating I'm already registered here.

"God has His favorites and I'm one of them, I am so handsome!" I said exuberantly and cockily while looking at my own image on the screen.

"Let's go," Chairman said while shaking his head indicating my childishness. Afterwards, we finally set our feet inside the main laboratory and headed straight to Aiden 2.3's room.

We'll talk about it at the main laboratory.

As we were getting closer to Aiden 2.3 whose humanoid robot body was hiding somewhere else in this room the more I feel the pins and needles inside my chest. I am nervous like hell and sweating like falls.

"It's time to activate Aiden 2.3." and there my heart almost skipped a beat after hearing the purpose why we're here.

The glass capsule slowly and dramatically raised from beneath the metal floor together with the smoke effect coming from the machine where the said glass capsule is attached. My face contorted in confusion when I noticed that there's no longer a blue liquid substance inside the glass capsule. It must have been drained already. Consequently, this gives Aiden 2.3 a more believable human features that you can almost say he's so close to a real human being.

"The blue liquid substance was already drained. His body was also well exposed in the air, meaning to say, he's ready to be activated," and there he opened the glass capsule to release Aiden 2.3.

I slowly went near to the glass capsule and waited for Aiden 2.3 humanoid robot to wake up from his deep and long slumber while Chairman Alberto was busy carefully opening the capsule. The moment Chairman fully opened it was the time the shakes in my body intensified.

"I am Aiden 2.3 of Gomez Robotics," after saying his auto-generated line under his monotonous and digitized voice, his eyes turned deep blue like a hologram indicative of he's already activated. Aiden 2.3 lifted himself up and exited the glass capsule and faced me.

"Wow!" I uttered in disbelief. Now, Aiden 2.3 was standing before me while looking at my eyes lifelessly.

"Hey, my name is Aiden 2.3, the only grandson of Alberto Gomez of Gomez Robotics." I am more than amazed when I heard him say those words. He really looks exactly like the real Aiden but with no emotions.

I tried to touch his right cheek and to my surprise, I suddenly felt ashamed of my own skin because his skin is as soft as a cotton. He must be using expensive skin care.

"Your skin is so satisfying to touch. Add to that, you really look like a real human!" I complimented before I looked at him from head to toeㅡwait.

"Oh, my goodness! Can you please put some garments on especially to that area? You're so l-lewd looking." He blinked his eyes for multiple times trying to process my words and there I noticed the small calculated moves. He's still not flexible enough to move.

"Can I get a hug from my grandson?" Chairman retorted out of nowhere.

Aiden 2.3 looked at his grandfather with his robot locomotion. No doubt, he really looks exactly like Aiden but when he starts to move you'll notice that there's a big difference.

"Chairman, Aiden 2.3 has been wanting to see you so much." and there he hugged the Chairman. It is just so strange to see someone who has no emotions or expressions at all. However, I am not oblivious about how satisfying and delightful it is for an inventor to see his creation succeeds.

In spite of this incredible masterpiece, it still creeping me out.

"Enzo, what are your thoughts?" he averted his gaze to me waiting for an answer.

Shyly irritated. "Aiden, put some clothes on first, please." I really can't fully concentrate because Aiden was still standing there naked.

The way his huge manhood was created, from its tip to veiny body make it more alluring in the eyes... Wait, what? What did I just say?

Chairman must be extremely inspired during the times he's creating Aiden 2.3's manhood.

"Okay!" Aiden 2.3 agreed in high pitched voice yet still lifeless. What a weirdo!

When I no longer see Aiden 2.3 in the area of my sight, I immediately went near to Chairman's place to tell him the things I think we need to consider to make Aiden 2.3 more believable in the eyes of the people.

"The chips that I and Aiden were talking about in the launch were the same chips Aiden 2.3 must achieve except for the hypersensitivity. We need to input the chips for rules, emotions, and chip for human locomotion." He tapped my shoulder and smiled at me a little bit.

"Yeah, I need all of those to complete the humanoid robot. Aiden 2.3 is already high-end and way more updated compared to Francis 1.0. We will launch Francis first but we will use Aiden 2.3 in the public more as we will benefit from him." I just nodded my head as a response and now I came to realize that the real battle is not yet happening, it's just about to come. It feels like I am in a dominatrix world wherein I am one of the characters just like what I always watch in cinema.

Above all, I sensed something different in the actions of Chairman and Aiden the human.

"I will spend at least couple of months to finish the chips, and Chairman... How about Aiden? What's next for him once Aiden 2.3 gets released to the public?" Chairman Alberto looked away first before he starts speaking.

"We will trade their positions. Once we have successfully released Aiden 2.3 in the public, we will now put my grandson in the main laboratory for the tests and other medications for his speedy recovery. We will make them believe that Aiden the human has already recovered but the truth is the Aiden they're with is the humanoid robot. In a span of this plan, I need to find the killer of my son named Gibson and Aiden to end this antics." I don't know but every time Chairman tends to be serious, I am getting abnormal chills all over my body.

"What if Aiden recovered already? What's next for Aiden 2.3 then?"

"Can we not spearhead the things that aren't happening yet? Let's focus on our goals first to achieve success." I didn't ask any more questions instead I changed the topic.

"But Chairman, isn't this plan dangerous for Aiden 2.3? What if they know?" I asked, worried.

"That's what I am thinking as well, however, I will never ever doubt my ability to create fantastic things. I have sacrificed a lot of things already just to achieve this and thus I won't allow something, anything, or someone to hinder this," right after saying his line, a deafening silence engulfed the atmosphere between us.

What kills people are their personal ambitions...

"I am done!" my heart almost jumped off when someone just talked out of my consciousness.

"See, you look like a real human!" Chairman greeted in elation when he saw Aiden 2.3 dressed up neatly.

"Grandpa, what's next for Aiden?" referring to himself. I just noticed that Aiden 2.3 was using the third person point of view instead of first.

"For now, you'll stay here in the laboratory, okay? We need some final tests to confirm your believability as a human and also there are still things that we need to input to you to make you a complete package." Chairman explained to his robot, treating him like a real human.

"No worries, Aiden understands everything," I was rooted to my place when I notice the innocence in this Aiden version. Yes, he's lifeless but still it dazes me.

"I will formulate the chip for emotions and expressions. Your dead face succumbs me." Chairman just chuckled due to my line.

"Aiden, I and Enzo need to leave now, we still have something to finish first then after that I'll explain to you everything when I go back." Aiden 2.3 just nodded as his response and there he automatically sat beside the glass capsule where he'd lived for years.

"Yes, he's just pieces of materials that have been smartly assembled through Chairman Alberto's creativity it is why he's able to get a life that only humans have but I couldn't hold myself feeling pity for him." I whispered with my face impinged by his pitiful situation.

"Don't worry, in the next months we will finally use him," Chairman said before storming out of this room but before I could even follow him, I neared Aiden 2.3 first. I kneeled on the metal floor, facing this lifeless humanoid robot. "We will return, okay? Just wait for us." I smiled at him then handed him my cell phone.

"Here, use this phone, it's up to you if how will you use it, I don't care. Make it your friend or what. It's all up to you. My one and only rule is don't you ever dare to open the messages in all messaging applications. Am I making myself clear?" Aiden just nodded his head as his answer. I messed his hair first before leaving him to follow Chairman.

"I'm so happy that you consider him like a natural human. I saw how you treated Aiden 2.3 before you follow me and it really melted my heart, making me feel we didn't go wrong for choosing you," he said while looking straight ahead.

"That's nothing, Chairman." I humbly responded.

We spent our two hours again in travel until we reached the hospital where Aiden the human was admitted to. We were in mix of confusion and flabbergast when we saw Mr. CK and Mrs. Lorrie guarding Aiden who's still unconscious up to this moment.

"What are you doing here, CK?" Chairman asked, lifelessly.

"I'm just checking if he's still alive or already dead. Well, I'm rooting for his death and soon, it will happen. I am manifesting," said Mr. CK, hinting a mockery as if Aiden is not his brother.

"CK, watch your language! Aren't you sympathetic for your brother's condition?!" Mrs. Lorrie's voice escalated in rage because of CK's insensitivity. She's busy holding Aiden's hand waiting for him to wake up.

"Mom, I will never ever consider him as my brother. So narcissistic!" He did not wait for anyone's response instead he stormed out the room with stomping feet.

"How's my Aiden?" asked Chairman. Grandfather's love will always hit different from any other's love.

"He's doing good according to his doctor," She's sobbing.

"Robots have no ambitions in their minds while ambition is what kills peopleㅡ" I was halted to my line when Aiden suddenly fell on the floor. A loud thud was heard all over the conference hall that gives me chills and fear.

I heard three consecutive gunshots. Aiden received the two on his abdomen while the other one hit his chest where his heart located.

I did not waste any more time but abruptly went to Aiden's place and carried him to arms carefully. His weight did not matter to me as my mind was accustomed to save my boss from peril.

"Enzo?!" I was brought back to reality when Chairman tapped my shoulder.

"Y-yes?"

"I said I am permitting you to go home and take a rest. I know this day was filled of exhaustion and trauma that's why I am giving you an early out." I heaved a deep sigh before tilting my head a bit to pay respect to the Chairman.

"Thank you so much, Chairman."

When the Chairman already pulled me out, I immediately exited the hospital to go home. I headed straight to the taxi terminal with my mouth wide opened, yawning. Amidst my wait, someone just scared the hell out of me when he grabbed me by my arm.

"Tell me, what kind of relationship do you have with Chairman? Why does it feels like he trusts you more than me, huh?!" he asked with his jaw tightened and holding my arm tightly due to anger.

"Let go of my hand!" I retrieved my hand forcefully and looked at him in a casually. "Why don't you ask your grandfather, killer?" my voice hinted a mockery. Obviously, I am blaming him for what happened to Aiden.

"Good thing you know." He crept a smile that gives me chills. It feels like the demon is standing in front of me. "Tell me the truth, are you here to replace my stupid and scumbag brother?"

"Such a dickhead." I almost said in whisper while hinting an insult. I didn't give him the chance to talk instead I hopped inside the newly arrived taxi.

While I am in the middle of travel, my company phone inside my pocket suddenly rang indicating there's a new message.

Are you going to visit Aiden tomorrow?

My brows knitted after reading the message sent to my number. The message was from my own personal cell phone, meaning to say...

"Aiden 2.3?" I smirked at the thought that Aiden is using my cell phone just to ask if I will pay a visit.

Yes, I will see you tomorrow, and the next day, and everyday.
