New Buddy!
It's ten in the evening when I finally got home. The first person showed up in the doorway was my annoying sister.
"Oh, what are you doing here?" she asked in confusion as she opened the door for me. She thought I am going to stay at my boss' house.
"Ah, I'll tell you tomorrow, I am so fed up with the happenings this day and all I want is to regen through soundly rest. Anyway, where's mom?" I am busy taking my shoes off when I asked her where is our lovely mother.
"She's already sleeping. And you, I have cried a lot of tears this morning knowing you'll not stay here and yet look who's here?" she rolled her eyes mocking me before she headed the sofa and sat down.
"Did I even tell you to cry for my departure, didn't I?" I backfired but she just tsked in submission.
I was about to go upstairs to have my rest when Lira suddenly tapped the space beside her thrice whilst showing no emotions.
"Sit down here and we'll talk about something." She made her look serious even though she really is not and tried her best to sharpened her stares to threaten me.
"Stop accusing me with your eyes, you little brat. What are we gonna talk about?" I throw my bag at her but she instinctively caught it.
I went back to her place and just like what she said, I leaned against the sofa and take a yawn. I am really tired.
"Can you please explain why you have appeared on the national news this afternoon?" her question took my drowsy away and changed it into fully-awakened-soul.
"What? What news? I was on the television?" I almost lost myself on it after hearing what she said.
"It's the launch of the humanoid robot of Gomez Robotics. In all fairness, the robot really looks like a real human." Her voice hinted an astound over Francis 1.0. What more if ever she sees Aiden 2.3? The one who's closely enough to be considered as a real human.
"Oh, that's nothing," I responded shortly. I need to be cautious when it comes to this topic. My mouth might slip any prohibited words that can cause much trouble in our project. I always need to keep in mind that I was warned by the Chairman to not talk about this to other people including my family to avoid giving hints.
"But you know, big bro, I pitied your boss for getting shot in his own launch like that is so inhumane and indignant." She can't keep her anger to herself due to the fact that Aiden's situation is really rage-worthy.
Lira was right. I do really feel sorry for Aiden for experiencing all of those hardships brought about by the image he's living with. A grandiose life that everyone's hoping to have knowing it's chaotic to even get near to it. I was pitiful to him knowing his life is in peril and currently facing the 50-50 situation in the hospital fighting for his life back. However, I can't also deny how honored I am to be his employee slashed personal security. He really is a mighty, principled, and well educated man that no matter how much threat he gets from the traitors, he will still continue to face the day with urge and complacency.
I stood up with my groggy eyes. "Enough this conversation. I need to go to sleep, Lira. My body is really calling the comfort of my bed. And you, you should sleep as well it's past ten already." I tapped her left shoulder before going upstairs and went straight to my room.
The moment I set foot inside my room was the exact time I unbuttoned my long sleeve and taking off my pants leaving my body with boxer only. I always go to bed having no shirt because I find it more comfortable than wearing one.
I sighed deeply. "This whole day really fucked me up. It gave me so much stress to bear that I don't even understand how my intelligent brain can handle such loads of information," I said inwardly while finding the right position to fall asleep.
When I finally found the right and most comfortable position in the bed, I suddenly hugged my other pillow as it helps me to sleep faster. But, I wasn't sleeping yet when my company phone suddenly rings.
"Who the hell on earth will call me on this unworldly hour?" I grunted in annoyance before I unwillingly get the phone on top of the side table. I was about to answer the call when the person on the other line ended it leaving me in dire vexation.
"The fuck? Is he tripping onㅡ" I wasn't able to finish my line when a message suddenly popped in the notification bar.

My eyes widened when I saw my personal number used by Aiden 2.3 to send me a message. He's still awake?

Why are you still awake?
I waited for a couple of minutes until one message appeared in the notification bar again.

You forgot already? I am automated machine. I didn't feel any human feelings.
I was slapped by the reality when I realized that I am having a conversation with a robot right now. Why it always feels like I am talking to a human when I'm conversing with him.

Oh, yeah! Thanks for reminding me. Anyways, I really need to go to sleep. My eyes really hurt.
I tried my hardest to close my eyes to get sleep but every time I hear the sound of incoming message, my mind automatically waked up.
Fuck it!

For no definite reason, his message put a genuine smile on my lips regardless how heavy my head was. Honestly, I really want to spend time talking to him but my drowsiness is killing me and thus I have to take rest. Due to that, I only send him a happy emoji before turning off the phone.
