The Capital 2

"How confident are you in your magic skills?" Adam's father asked.

"I have the confidence to use both ranged and close combat magic skills in all the basic elements. It won't be much longer and I'll be able to use middle element spells." Adam said

His father and Verse were stunned that someone so young would be so strong and methodical when it came to learning so much information. Nor could they believe that someone so young would have the insight to create a method for themselves.

"He is my child after all." his mother stated with a smug look on her face.

It should be stated that his mother was a level three mage. The first step to mage hood was was a level on acolyte. There were three levels to acolyte and then three levels to mage. Reaching the third tier of mage was an achievement all in itself.

"I guess there isn't much need for the starter training then. We will move straight to strength training and strategy." Verse said.

"Skip the strength training. Take a look at your buckler." Gregory said

Verse looked down at the buckler and was surprised to see that it was it was dented with a crack at the bottom. His only thought was how could a child have such monstrous strength. It seemed this was going to be a long year of training.

One year later.....

Outside the city, in the dense forest there was a deer standing in a clearing. This particular deer was called an Iron Stag. They stood eight feet tall with a coat as strong as iron and white ivory horns that could easily pierce chain mail.

At the edge of the clearing, Adam and Verse were positioned to attempt to take the deer down. This would be Adam's final test and would also provide the materials for his armor as well as his shield and morning star.

The only catch to this challenge would be that Adam would have to defeat the deer on his own. It was his right of passage for not only his family, but also the Adventurer's Guild. Passing meant that he would carry a portion of the torch for his family and be allowed to take on quests that suited his rank in the guild.

Adam began by placing his hands on the ground and using the spell quicksand. A ring of quicksand began to shrink in on the Stag without it noticing. This was only possible due to the Stat category that he had unlocked when his accumulated knowledge had sped up the solving of his complete method.

Once the quicksand left on a small space left for the Stag, Adam readied his borrowed morning star and used an earth spike to launch himself into the air in the direction of the Stag. The Stag immediately tried to back away from Adam, but sank into the quick sand.

Adam immediately swung his morning star with all his strength and struck the Stag directly on the head while he was falling through the air.

The impact was enough to jolt Adam and break his morning star. The Stag on the other hand only began to bleed from its head. It continued to struggle and was moments away from breaking free of the quicksand.

Adam quickly cast a large water ball that soaked the entire beast. Just as the beast was pulling free of the quicksand, Adam poured all of his magic into his newest spell, Crashing Thunder. A large lightning bolt hit the Stag, killing it on the spot.

Adam collapsed on the ground out of breath. The whole fight had only take a few minutes, but he was exhausted.

"You did well. I thought I was going to have to step in. The Iron Stag is a tough nut to crack even for veteran adventurer's. You earned your place, now it's time to head home. It'll take a week for the items you requested to be crafted. Let's get out of here." Vers said.

The made their way out of the forest and back to their respective homes. The Stag was taken for processing and Adam went home a true member of his family. He had proven his worth and now it was time to make their way to the capital.

Two weeks later, the trio made their way to the capital. It would take them three days to get there by carriage. The majority of the time, they spent gathering magic with their methods.
