Chapter 17

“ what do you mean there are hundreds of men outside my workshop.”

“boss just bring our men over war is about to break loose.”

“ Aiden go into the workshop and hide with Arylan, things are going to get ugly out here.”

“yes sir, he said rushing into the guarded workshop waiting for a signal.

Gunfire opened and everyone rushed out attending to the commotion outside. He sneaked over to Arylan who was already half free, with blood dripping from her hands. Untying her he took her to the back of the warehouse where there was little light.

“Don’t worry, uncle Tim and grandmother are here to protect you.”

She sighed in exhaustion and pain, the rope had left scars on her body. He took out the bandage he brought from home and after disinfecting her hands sat across her silently watching her catch her breath.

On the outside bodies were laid on the ground with the other side being weak.

“ It was you, ” Tim said as both groups stopped firing each other, “ I thought you were done with this life.”

Abdullah looked over to Biel. “ she knew too much. She’s too big of a liability now that she’s getting her memory back.”

“ Today, you’ll be the one dying, ”Tim said walking grandmother into the van behind him before continuing with the war. Men punching each other in the face. Limbs being broken…as they cursed at each other…this is how a feud is settled in this industry, it will go on for years until one of them meets the dust.

Abdullah surrendered safely handing Arylan over. She looked at him in the eye before leaving with uncle Tim and Aiden…he knew that he messed up.

“ Uncle Tim, please rush to the hospital she has a few open wounds as well as a problem breathing.”

Tim increasing the speed of his car as they rushed Arylan into an emergency ward. Dehydration, and shock…thank the almighty that she was found on time.

Her eyes opened slightly to Aiden who was asleep in her room, “You're awake, ” he says rushing over to her.

“ they had to stitch the wound on your left-hand does it hurt?”

“not really, my chest just feels heavy.”

“the doctor said it’ll go away soon.”

She shook her head…before Aiden could say anything Eric rushed into the ward.

“you're no longer allowed to go into any public transport whatsoever!”

She turned her gaze towards him, he was as red as a tomato. “ what were you thinking?” he kept going with what would’ve happened and how careless she was. She sat there observing him quietly trying not to make a scene.

“ that’s enough Eric, she’s not well right now.”

“ Hmm, ” he says handing her breakfast. Aiden left the ward after being called by Tim.

“ are you okay?” he asks patting his shoulder

“ im okay thank you.”

“Great, there’s something I need to tell you… let's go outside...once they found a safe space Tim searched the area making sure that no one he knew was in plain sight. “ listen, I see the same feud that happened between me Abdullah, and Biel repeating itself with the three of you.”

Aiden looking towards him with his eyebrows turned. “ what do you mean.”

“don’t trust him…he will do whatever it takes to get to the top,” he said leaving to accompany Biel back into the ward. Confused by him he rushed back to Arylans ward.

Arylan was released a week after and everything returned to normal. Sometimes she would have an episode afraid of what was prepared to grab her at any given moment, but Abdullah knew not to start a game that he can not finish and knew where to draw the line when it came to taking care of what needs to be done. Carefully.

Time went on, it wasn’t easy for Arylan to leave the house but she pushed herself every day. Abdullah went missing for a while…he'll probably reappear when he wants to cause havoc and pain again.

“ can I see your hands, ” Aiden said handing her a drink.

“ it’s nothing honestly see, two out of five stitches are removed.”

“ that’s great news. By the way, if you want to go anywhere I can take you.”

“ no need, I hardly have time, either way, I heard that you needed to complete your course in Pretoria what’s holding you back?”

“my application to study here was successful, so there’s no need for me to move schools anymore.”

“oh, that’s great news.”

What was Aiden actually cooking?

Grandmother relied on Tim for the safety of Arylan, knowing that she was her only hope in this life after losing her son, and her entire family…the thought of almost losing her drove her insane and felt extremely unbearable.
