Episode 17: The Hidden Cabin

I waited for the next day, counted every second but when the next day arrived, it was no better. Maybe I was hoping this would all be a dream but I could tell by the piercing pain in my chest that it wasn't. Thankfully, it was Sunday and I didn't need to face Will at work but unfortunately, that left me with staying stuck at home with mom continuously hovering over me with no sense of her daughter's personal space. I left with my cycle, not explaining anything, with only one place in my mind. A place where I could drown the noise inside my head.

I could hear the sound of the falls from half a mile away. Despite the rising summer heat, it was cold here. Very carefully, I walked through the small opening between the cave and the falling water and sat there huddled by myself. I watched as the reflection of the water danced on my face and the wall behind me. And after about five minutes of staring at the wall I saw a crack on it.

That's probably what my heart looks like now.
