Ella Bluebud returns to her childhood home after eight years, located on the outskirts of the mysterious, rising mountains, a place of beautiful meadows and peaceful valleys. I walked into my house only to find the living room empty which was strange 'cause either mom or grandpa always stayed there. Just when I needed them! I looked around the kitchen and in the backyard in vain and then I heard voices from my parents' room. 


"I told you we shouldn't come back here! I told you!" Dad was trying really hard to keep his voice down but I could tell he was mad. 


"We had to. Your father needed us. How long can you overlook his old age and his pleas of coming back home?" Mom tried to reason. 


My whole body seemed to tense. I knew I wasn't gonna find out anything pretty but truths were sheldom pretty. 


"Yeah but what about those creatures now? If that half-human knows her, it's only a matter of time that boy finds her as well. What if he already has!" Dad exclaimed in horror. 


My heart was hammering against the door as I stood leaning on it motionless, not believing my ears.
