Episode 20: Approaching Threats

Will smelled like the forest; like the misty fog of a chilly evening despite the hot summer. I could probably get drunk in his smell. Kinda sweet but not too much but something I just can't have enough of.

I felt his lips move against my skin as he whispered, "I missed you more." A heat that had nothing to do with the summer spread through his body and into mine. The air around us seemed electrified.

"I believe you," I said through uneven breaths and then my stomach growled and the tree-house was filled with laughters. Will's laughter. Musical and almost enchanting. I probably should have been embarrassed but I was smiling. Will was laughing. He was happy. And I vowed to make it stick this time.

"I got pizza. You hungry at all?" I asked when Will had finished laughing.

"Starving," he smiled.
