"Your boyfriend?" Young-hee finally broke the silence in the car and asked. Her voice definitely didn't sound like a friendly one, It was clear that Young-hee was annoyed about what just happened; it could have raised a lot of rumors and possibly ruined her whole plan.
Young-mi could tell that she is also annoyed with her, probably because she didn't tell anything about Dong-Hyun. But Young-mi didn't intentionally want to hide it from her since at that time she could hardly remember her life in South Korea, and what's more her relationship with Dong-Hyun, although they did go out with each other once, it had never had the chance to develop into a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship.
"No, he is just a classmate of mine from the school I used to go to; we only went out once with each other but the relationship had never developed further." Young-mi truthfully told her everything she could remember about Dong-Hyun.
"Do you still have feelings for him?" Young-hee asked with a solemn tone, her eyes fixed at Young-mi's.
"No, mother." Young-mi replied immediately. She doesn't know for sure whether she had any feeling for him in the past or not, but she does know that she clearly doesn't have any now.
Young-hee continued to stare at Young-mi intimidatingly before finally sighing and said, "Good, I do not want any external factors to ruin my plan. John, the plan for today will remain unchanged."
"Yes, ma'am." The bodyguard who was driving the car replied as he turned the wheel to direct the car to a different direction.
…
Upon arriving at a small secluded villa upon a mountain, the two got off the car and were greeted by the eye-opening scenery of the city below. Gentle breeze of wind flutters past them as it makes its way down the mountain, carrying fresh and moist air.
(?!)
'The spiritual energy here is much more concentrated than any place I have been to ever since I came back...' Young-mi pondered to herself, wondering what the reason is that gives off such a concentrated spiritual.
Although the concentration is nowhere near to those back in murim, the spiritual energy here is still three times more concentrated than that back in the City.
Due to the spiritual energy being so low in the city, if she was to have to recover 1% of her spiritual energy capacity, she would at least take a whole year to do so. But if she was to stay here, her spiritual energy would be able to recover by 1% every four months.
However, fortunately her spiritual energy capacity is still full after returning back to South Korea and there doesn't seem to be of any use for it anyway.
"Watch your steps; the path is very rocky." Young-hee said as she began to slowly make her way towards the villa.
The floor to it was full of pebbles as if it was an ocean of rocks. Each with its own unique shape and common colours, one can easily trip on those if not being careful enough; especially if one was to wear heels.
"Yes." Young-mi replies and follows her towards the villa, while keeping cautious of where she is stepping with her heels.
"..."
Ding-dong…
Couple of seconds after Young-hee had pressed the doorbell at the front door, a woman who looked to be at the same age as Young-hee opened the door and greeted them.
"You two are late; I have been waiting for a while now. Come on, quickly come inside." The woman merrily said.
"It can't be helped; we were caught in something unexpected." Young-hee replied, sighing.
Young-hee quickly followed the woman inside the small villa and Young-mi shortly did the same. The three of them quickly arrived in the living room and sat down on a moderately small dining table.
Young-mi didn't pass out the chance to notice a few old artifacts and relics on display around the room and what's more, they are all real relics that contain spiritual energy. Some of the relics were even more powerful compared to the one they bought from the auction today!
However, all of the relics were either support types or low level offence types that could barely do any damage; what's more, in order to utilise these relics one must unlock at least one spiritual gate in their body, becoming a cultivator. Ordinary people won't even notice their spiritual power, less to say even be able to use them.
It is without a doubt that an ordinary person without any cultivation will never be able to activate them, but the two people that Young-mi is with in this room ain't exactly "normal" people; they had specifically went to the auction to buy the relic and possibly even many time for the other relics too, it would be truly lucky for someone who never cultivated before to buy an authentic relic every single time. And...the two of them have a high concentration of spiritual energy circulating around their body, at least much higher than an average person would have from everyday exposure.
At first Young-mi thought it was a coincidence when finding out that Young-mi had already unlocked one of her spiritual gates in her body, becoming a beginner cultivator; there were many cases back in murim when ordinary people who had never cultivated before to unconsciously unlock a spiritual gate when exposed to large amount of spiritual energy for a long time.
However, the spiritual energy in this world is just too thin for such "miracle" to happen even when accounting for the concentration up in this mountain. Thus, it is incredibly difficult for one to become a cultivator without ever training a technique, but how come there are three cultivators in this room now?
