Chapter 14 (Added More) – Cultivation & Truth of Relics

"You must be Elise, Young-hee had told me a lot about you." The woman said with a smile.

However, instead of getting surprised like previously back at the auction house, Young-mi had already somewhat expected this when Young-hee told her that they were going to meet someone.

"Yes, and you are?"

"Young-sook but if you want, you can just call me grandma." The woman replied with a smile, there was also a slight hint of yearning.

Young-mi momentarily turned to look towards Young-hee.

Nodded her head, Young-hee quickly explained, "She's my mother as well as Young-mi's grandmother."

"Since Young-mi's state has always been weak from her illness and can't travel a lot, she often stayed indoor and lived here." Young-hee added, she tried to say it as indifferently as she can, but one can still hear the sadness carried in those words.

"You really do look like her..." Young-sook suddenly said.

"Pardon?"

"Sorry, I got carried away. Ah! You must be wondering why I still look so young despite me being more than fifty years old right?" Young-sook said half jestingly then continued, "Well…have you heard of cultivation?"

'I was right. The chance of the two of them being able to gain natural cultivation is beyond rare in this world.'

'Don't tell me they had managed to find out that I am also a cultivator!... No, there is no way that they are able to bypass my concealment techniques.'

After some time of pondering, Young-mi finally answered back but pretending to not to know anything, "Cultivation? Like the one in novels?"

"Well, depending on the novel that you are thinking about, I guess you could say that." Young-sook paused then chuckled, "Ha-ha, you must think I'm crazy, but I can guarantee you that something like cultivation is more than just being fictional."

'If the two here knows the existence of cultivation then there must also be others; could it be that the people who were bidding for those "relics" wasn't all blindly wasting their money after all?'

"Here, its best if I were to directly show it to you." Young-sook held her right hand out and the green jade bracelet around it suddenly glow bright green.

Seconds later, a sharp dagger suddenly appeared upon her hand.

One who knows the existence of relics could instantly tell that the bracelet is a spatial relic, but they may not know that the sharp dagger too was also a relic.

From the quality of the spiritual energy that is leaking from the jade bracelet, Young-mi could tell that it's a very low quality one that doesn't even have a Blood Lock. It's spatial size should be no bigger than three cubic metres.

"Don't be too surprised, this is just one of many relics out that exists in this world." Young-sook explained.

"Relic…?" Young-mi asked but mused to herself, 'Just how much do they know about relic?'

"Yes, there are only a few organisations who actually knows of its existence, and such treasures are extremely rare even outside of South Korea."

"Then…where do these relic come from?" Young-mi asked with a slightly puzzled look, it is highly unlikely that someone is capable enough to create these relics themselves, even if the relic was that of a low quality one. And what's more, the materials to build these relics in the first place would likely to be unavailable on Earth.

After a slight pause, Young-sook finally explained, "These relics are naturally formed by themselves…to be exact, they are all used to be ordinary man-made items but has transformed due a mysterious energy that it harnesses over time."

Boom!

Upon hearing her explanation, Young-mi instantly understood it. To tell the truth, many people in the Murim had been pondering on why relics were found all over ancient tombs that was built during an age where cultivation had never existed.

What's more, the relic found in these ancient tombs are comparable to the cultivation world's most powerful relics ever created.

This had caused many to speculate about the history of the past, some thought that ancient predecessors had long discovered the method of cultivation and that these relics were left by immortals upon ascending. But never had they thought that these earth-shaking relics were once ordinary mortal items!

However, it wasn't because cultivators were stupid to not have realised this, but because once you become a cultivator, mortal necessities such as eating, and drinking will become less required. And even if such items are needed for hosting feasts and gathering, cultivators would never buy things used by mortals; after all, reputation and face is also very important in Murim.

The relics of cultivators are almost always stored inside another storage relic, which completely freezes time for the stored relics; in the first place, cultivators are so mesmerised in breaking-through their cultivation that they wouldn't even be able to notice such changes around them.
