The next day was a Saturday, and as I woke up, the event of the previous day replayed itself in my mind.

hmm... when did my marriage become this worse? ordinarly, immediately i caught him with the woman, I was supposed to go report him to his mother, but who am I to do that.

This is my cross and not his mother's, it is my marriage not hers. so why would I do that, why can't I solve my problems my self.

Luckily for me, we still had some garri at home and with that I ad my children could survive the morning and at this crucial time, we could really use anything we found to eat.

I was much luckier because my children never complained about but took it the Way it came.

In the afternoon towards the evening, I started having some weird pain and all of a sudden I rushed to the toilet to vomit, after cleaning up, I dragged myself to bed and asked tobi to get me some pain relief and a glass of water.

I took the medicine, but still felt uneasy with a feverish body.

I covered myself up with the blanket.

When my children came to tell me they were going to bed for the night, they found me worst then they had left me.

They cried out and all I could request for was a bowl of water.

Tobi had suggested to call his father, but I stopped him stating that his father might be busy at that moment. They brought me the bowl of water, soon enough.

Even though ii knew what I said to Tobi was a lie.

After mopping my body thousand times with the cold towel, i finally fell asleep, only to wake up the next morning and find a figure sleeping beside me.

I dragged myself out of bed even though I felt so exhausted. I didn't know when I fell back into the bed waking Edward in the process.

what is it again, can't a man have his reason was all he could say and I didn't bother to reply him.

For one thing I didn't need anybody that would shout at me after what I faced last night.

So with that I raised mysrlf again but remembered that we had no food at home and the last thing I wanted this morning was to ask edward for money but I had no other option and it wasn't as if I was working, so I needed to ask.

I tapped him gently at first to wake him, but he neither turned to look at me nor answered me so I got up and went over to the side of his bed.

Edward pls would you hear me out for a minute, I asked.

what na! any time I want to rest, that is when you would have one thing or the other to say. okay am all hears what is it you want this time, he asked.

Sorry for disturbing you, pls I need some money, I said.

For what! he asked.

There is nothing at one and the children are really hungry, I said

I knew that was what you wanted to ask for, all you know is food, food. food, and more food, don't you have what you use this your brain to think about other than food? he said tagging at my head.

I had become angry at his remark and all I could do was to shout at him.

before I could complete the sentence, I heard a vicious slap across my face followed by a mighty hand coming down on me and before I knew what was happening, I found myself on the hospital bed.

Where am I was texting only question that came to my mind as I moved up to a sitting position.

you are at the hospital said a woman wearing white and soon my vision became clear and the thought of what happened followed as sadly I remembered it.

please get me out of here I pleaded with the woman, as I struggled to get up from the bed.

No madam you have to take enough rest as the doctor has instructed.

I sank into my self as reality drawn really hard on me.

MINUTES LATER IN THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE

Mrs. Jones thank God you are finally awake and how are you feeling? asked the doctor

Netter thank you, I said.

okay so after all the test we carried out on you, congratulations we found out you are two weeks pregnant, he said.

preg... what? i asked.

yes mrs. jones, you are pregnant, congrats said the doctor

my regards to Mr. jones and the children and remember to always stay off stress and have a good rest every day.

Thank you doctor I managed to say amidst a fake smile.

When I got home, I found edward and my children eating on the dining table, thank God at least he had the nerve to buy them something to eat.

After the children had finished eating and gone to their room, I braced up and went to give him my pregnancy report.
