Chapter 70 : : Trade

On the other side of the stairs was a narrow corridor, Kale took out a candle, lit it and lighted his surroundings as he ventured through the corridor.

He went ahead, on reaching the end, he found the entrance to two halls, one on the right and one on the left, the entrance doors were made of metal that got somewhat rusty over time, Kale forced open them.

He checked both the halls, the left hall was empty while the right had a plain table, chair and bed, there was also a water tap on the wall, with a sandpit below it to absorb spilt water.

Overall, both the halls were quite spacious, they were cuboidal halls, that could cover most of the parameters of the house if combined.

'From the location of the tap, it is probably linked to that well on the outside, this place can meet the minimum requirements for survival for several hours but it's only for unintelligent beasts if it was me, I could find them using ‹Life Sense›, as they have no restriction or concealing spell at the entrance,' Kale pondered in his head as he examined the halls to see if he was missing something, after making sure that there was nothing left, he stopped 'Nevertheless, it saves me the trouble to dig an underground passage, after some modification here, I can hide my things and also continue my practice without any trouble,'

Kale left the secret chamber and came to the bedroom, he covered the entrance door with the sheet again and started cleaning the room.

He had already decided on this room, from the looks of it, it was clear that Francis himself had no idea about the secret chamber so it was better to keep it hidden and under his command. Once he finished cleaning the room, he chose to take care of the kitchen and left the rest of the things for Fynn.

After a few hours, Fynn came with other porters to deliver their luggage to the mansion, Fynn didn't need to come but some of the things were too precious and he had no intention of witnessing his master's ruthlessness on a mistake.

He left once the things were delivered, Kale didn't stop him, instead, he started sorting out things for real, he started with the Tier 4 Time Mage's inheritance, on observing the content, he was delighted to find out that the inheritance was mostly complete.

A complete inheritance has enough resources for one to cultivate from mortal to the rank of inheritance, simply put a mortal could cultivate to Tier 4 Time Mage using this inheritance.

Of course, it didn't imply to consumables. The inheritance may have Magic Stones or potions in the past, that could be seen with the broken glass on the ground of the inheritance cave but would a Blood & Bone Snake miss out on such a thing? It may not understand their preciousness but could sense the energy in them, the snake must have swallowed them without much consideration.

It mostly applied to the spell set, like he checked and found that the inheritance had all four versions of the ‹Fast› spell, starting from Tier 1 to Tier 4.

Kale decided to keep the equipment as he could use them, as for the spells, he wasn't so sure about it, spending time and energy on them would mean he was mission out on the other more necessary ones.

He decided to trade them, now the question was with whom should he trade?

Blindly going out and telling others that he has Tier 4 inheritance would be utterly foolish.

When he thought like that, the figure of an elegant woman smiling at him came to his mind.

'Sanae…' Kale muttered under his breath.

In the past, he had traded White Jade Lotus with Sanae Rosary and quite profited from it, Kale had a favourable impression of her due to her interest matching his, he quite enjoyed talking about plants with her, he was even able to acquire her E-mail address, but he was hesitating if he should mention it, because he knew that she was a Pharmacist and a Plant Mage, Time Mage inheritance might not be appealing to her anymore, moreover he had no idea of her current rank.

Kale sighed, he had not much choice in this matter, although he had an idea but wasn't sure if it would work, he took out his phone and started writing a mail, he inputted the information about the inheritance, he also added the picture of the poisonous herbs, he didn't include the eggs, that was because it would be hard to explain how he got them.

Although he still planned to sell all the eggs except the rarer egg, he knew that it wasn't possible to trade them with Sanae. Instead, it might even raise suspicion if she knows about the eggs, as for the inheritance, even if they find the furniture it can't even tell that there was an inheritance here, even if they find out, they can't tell what kind of inheritance was it.

The rarer egg was like a lottery for him, Kale was hoping to acquire something like a Blood & Bone King Snake if not Blood & Bone Emperor Snake, both were one of the few variations of Blood & Bone Snake of higher grades.

Kale finished setting up the email and sent it to her, the only thing remaining was waiting, he went into the kitchen and started preparing for dinner. He had spent quite a bit of money to buy high-grade ingredients to make a healthy diet for himself.

Imperial City, Sky & Mountain Plantation Centre.

In a certain grand pavilion, Sanae was sitting in a formation with two elven women around her, both of them were an equal distance away from her and each other, they were in an equilateral triangular formation.

All three of them were in their utmost concentration with their hands raised and palms facing each other, their focus was on managing the magic circles in front of them, three different colours of energy were flowing within the formation, although different, they didn't engage in conflicts with each other.

In the centre of the formation, five multicoloured seed and three yellow leaf blades were floating around each other, all the eight plant bodies had energy fluctuation around them, suddenly all eight plant bodies emitted a green light within them and got attracted to each other.

"Now," Sanae softly muttered under her breath, as she joined the jade-like fingers of her slender hands.

The two elven women made dual hand seals, at the same time, the five different plant bodies moving towards each other shined brightly in a green glow and barged into each other, but there was no collision instead they merged to form a bigger green body of light, the body looked unstable at first then with time, it slowly stabilized.

The green glow slowly faded, what remained was a peculiar plant, its top had the appearance of pale yellow pink flower bud while it's bottom had onion-like roots, though they still had a glassy look to them, the plant appeared ordinary at first glance but it had strong origin energy fluctuation around it making the plant seem like an immortal herb.

Sanae gently waved her hand and the plant fell in her hand, she activated a spell that helped her in probing the plant and its structure.

While she was scanning the flower bud-like plant, the other two women were looking at her with a serious expression, they were waiting for the result of her appraisal.

After a few seconds, Sanae stopped scanning it and slightly nodded "It mimics the effects similar to a 600-year-old spirit ginseng, it's a success,"

Listening to her words, the two women relaxed then their expression turned to that of joy.

"We finally made it, creating a brand new plant out of nowhere isn't simple even when using a combined formation, I don't think we would succeed without Sister Rosary's help," The woman on the left said as she gave a grateful look to Sanae then she patted the shoulder of the other woman as she spoke "Junior Sister, you did good for your first time,"

The other woman shyly nodded.

Sanae smiled, she didn't directly reply to her words and said "It's alright, Master had done a lot for me, it's only natural that I help at times, you two should take some rest, the process must have put a strain on you," She said as she flickered her finger, the plant flew from her hands to the elven woman.

The woman who spoke first was slightly reluctant to leave, she gave one last look to Sanae before sighing, she caressed the plant in her hands then stood up and left with her junior sister.

Once they left, Sanae gently flew in the air and headed to her mobile treehouse, as she flew, she gave off the image of an immortal fairy capable of enticing the onlooker's heart with one glance, whether it was her temperament or disposition they both seem to transcend mortality, touching the realm of immortals.

When she arrived in her room, she was about to and take a bath but then she saw the indicator LED on her phone flickering, grabbing her phone she sat on her bed.

Sanae checked the email and realized that it was from a younger generation boy's email address she had saved in the past. She thought for a moment, then decided to read it. As she started to read, her eyelids flickered from time to time, once she finished browsing through the pictures, she again looked at the email to confirm that it belonged to the same boy.

Sanae was lost in thought for several minutes, her normal behaviour would be to ignore it, after all, she was capable of getting almost all items she desired, the content wasn't that important to her, but then she remembered how she enjoyed discussing her creations, her plants with him, it was unlike the times when she had to act and keep her guard up against others who would, directly or indirectly, lead their conversation to her joining them or setting up business agreements.

For them, plants were just excuses and tools, while she was a toolmaker, so having a happy aimless conversation wasn't an everyday thing for her.

In the end, she decided to lend a hand and replied.

{Where did you got the inheritance?} She didn't directly talk about the trade.

She was confirming if someone was making use of him.

Kale was having his meal when he got a notification alert that made his eyes brighten, this was something he was waiting for.

'Being young has its own advantage,' He was rejoicing inwardly.

He could too guess that the items he put forward might not be that appetizing to someone like her, but still, he tried, not just because she was his only choice but because of the fact that he was young, he was using his young age as bait to gain favour.

When he visited her plantation centre he had noticed the working elves, at that times he asked himself a question, why only elves? It was because elves have a high affinity with wood and hence plants.

Sanae, too, needed a capable younger generation to fill in her subordinate list to manage her plantation centre, so knowingly or subconsciously she would be attracted to people that can grow in her field.

He was allowing her to invest in him, it was only possible as a naive kid.

If Kale was a grown-up man and not a teenager, then his email would without a doubt be ignored, that was the difference.

Loyalty can be cultivated starting from gratefulness or owing favour but not from money, and it only becomes hard once a person has grown and adjusted themselves with the ways of the world.

Kale told her that he found it in the forest, normally inheritances have a trial, but Kale spoke the truth saying, the inheritance had no trials and may even be a research or resting hideout of a mage.

His words made Sanae slightly believe him, if he had said that he passed through a trial, she would ask how and what were the trials, due to her vast experience as a mage, she would know if he was lying from the type of trials a Time Mage might set up.

Sanae was slightly hesitant if she should go ahead and help 'I have already talked, it doesn't matter that much now, '

Thinking of this, she sent her reply {What do you want in exchange?}

Kale immediately answered {Same as before, I don't know their real value so I leave it to senior, for now, I only need a basic spell set of Tier 1 Earth Mage and Tier 2 Plant Mage with notes,}

Sanae read his email and slightly frowned {You should first reach Tier 1 Expert Wood Mage first, hastiness at Tier 1 is not good,}

She didn't like to go out of her way to explain things but considering Instructor Fina treated him like a talent, she still gave a suggestion.

Kale was prepared for this, he was even waiting for such a response {I became Tier 1 Expert Wood Mage last month, but I have only learned five wood spells so I am probably at the bottom,}

On the other side, Sanae looked at the message with twinkling eyes, she thought of herself in the past then read the message again, she wasn't able to believe his words.

Kale expected it, so in the next mail, he shared a link to his cloud video, saying it was the video of him using the spells that he had prepared for his father.

He wanted to be low key and keep his achievements a secret, but only from the masses, not from the person he wanted to get admiration from so that he could gain guidance for his breakthrough to being a Plant Mage.

He had only two options, Instructor Fina or Sanae Rosary, and when he thought that Instructor Fina was actually a Wood Mage and may not be able to help at the same level as Sanae, his choice was obvious.

Sanae curiously checked the video, at first she was surprised seeing that he had grown quite a bit but soon her attention was attracted to the fact that all the five spells he used were at Ethereal mastery level.

She soon replied, which was again answered by Kale, unknowingly both of them kept chatting without considering the time.

The E-mail was being used as a messenger app, the topic shifted from comprehension talent to unbalanced spell set choice, perks of being a mage to the incredibility of fauna, the life of a Plant Mage to Sanae's ascension to being a Plant Mage and her inspirations that lead to the creation of new types of spells.
