We had 10 minutes before we would arrive at the station. Since father was a muggle, we drove in this machine thing that muggles call 'cars' or something like that anyway. We had been in the car for about an hour and a half and I was becoming more nervous by the second. I had no friends to sit next to on the train. None. None what so ever. I had lost them all on the same night. I had lost my best friends, Martha, Tanya and Cedric. Cedric Diggory, the boy that I had loved for years, the best friend that I told everything to, the best friend that I trusted and cared about the most.
*flashback*
"Cedric! Mr. Diggory! Over here!" Tanya yelled at the top of her voice in the empty courtyard followed by Martha.
"Tanya? Martha? Why did you send me that owl? What's wrong?" The boy asked.
"One question at a time, Diggory!" Tanya replied, teasing her friend, "Maya just told us something and we thought that you should know about it."
"Well?" He said, "Are you going to tell me or not?"
"Actually," Martha said, "Let's get May to tell you herself!"
"Perfect idea!" Tanya answered, laughing at Cedric's confused expression. The blonde, pixie- haired Martha ran off calling Maya's name.
"Tan, what's wrong with May?" he questioned worried.
"Never mind about that!" she whispered, moving in closer to Cedric's face. She placed her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips the second she heard footsteps heading towards them.
"What the fuck!" Maya screamed. Tanya pulled away from Cedric when she heard her voice.
"What the heck Cedric!" Tanya yelled slapping the poor boy in the face. Cedric looked over at his best friend Maya as a few tears dripped down her face.
"Hey! May! Are you crying?" Cedric asked confused and worried. He ran over and held the girl in a tight embrace and cried into his shoulder.
"Would you like to tell him or should we?" Tanya teased at Maya,
"NEITHER! I hate you Tanya! How could you? You knew all this time yet you still kissed him!" The extremely upset Maya shouted at the top of her voice, crying even more.
"Please tell me what's wrong May, you're scaring the Merlin out of me!" Cedric asked, rubbing circles into Maya's back.
"Maya over here, has a very big crush on you. She has liked you since you met on the train her first year." Tanya cackled.
"W-what?" Cedric questioned in disbelief. Was it really true that his best friend had a crush on him. She couldn't. No. She was his best friend. She was like the little sister he never had. Right?
"Yes." Maya started to ball her eyes out. Cedric's eyes widened in shock. She pulled herself out of the boy's firm grasp and ran. Yelling over her shoulder at her two friends who had always been there for her. The ones that had just betrayed her.
*end of flashback*
I felt a few tears pour down on to my lap. What if we crossed paths? I wouldn't be able to even look at Tanya or Martha let alone be friends with them. And Cedric. What the heck was I going to do if I crossed paths with Ced? Ignore him? Yes, that seemed like the best option. If I were to cross paths with Cedric Diggory then I would ignore him. A couple more tears fell down my face as I said his name in my head. I had lost my best friend forever.
