The Black Temple

In ancient times, their territory was a wilderness where nomadic groups lived then evolved to where various tribes occupied many places in and outside of the forest. As time went by the tribes in the forest began to explore and find a tribal civilization that was bigger than them.

Jahr tribe. The tribe across the westernmost river they could find. The Jahr tribe itself is the largest tribe in charge of various large and small tribes in the desert after this river. The Jahr tribe was the most prosperous tribe among all the tribes because their location was right between this river and other tribes in the desert, therefore the river named the Springs of Life.

Within a few decades, the pattern of early human life was still in the pattern of hunting and gathering. However, there were several groups were able to plant crops on a mobile basis. The huge profits obtained from bartering goods for food made the greedy tribal leaders find various ways to seize land from other, smaller tribes.

Then begins a dark period where members of the tribe were taught to embrace their cruel side and trained to be ready to fight at any time from an early age in order to defend their tribal territory and themselves. The constant fighting then made them understand a new concept of cooperation without having to join as members of another tribe. Alliance. The tribes united and shared the special information they had in order to protect themselves from enemy tribes.

The bloody battles lasted long enough until a young tribal chieftain made the bold decision not to sentence the violators of territory to execution and make voluntary exchanges with the aggressors. A foolish decision for many people but his leadership style made many other tribesmen join his tribe and made it the largest tribe in the entire Black Temple area at that time.

Jealousy was one of human nature besides greed, some angry chief leaders made an alliance to eradicate this tribe. Who would have known that the young tribe chief was actually a dragon and completely annihilate the enemy? The revelation was too big and too shocking to some people. The young tribe chieftain then decided to break away voluntarily, but many of his faithful members of his tribe chose to follow in his footsteps. Because of this, it was decided that they would live in the old territory of the Jahr tribe and the former forest hinterland.

This area became the new main area to be named Ancient City, where the Black Temple civilization would begin.

Along with this clear division of territories, the young chieftain concentrated development in the area outside the former Jahr territory and entrusted this area to one of the alliance members - the Alo tribe.

The Ancient City development was slow but promising, they started from a system of division of labor. They were divided into several divisions that they master such as hunting, planting crops, and martial arts training. Those divisions continued to develop at the same time as the high demand for certain skills and problem-solving that was needed by society. The tribe leaders mapped their government system and honorably pointed the young chieftain as their Chief. His reign was short as he had been living for almost a century.

The spear of leadership was continued by the Yong tribe as they were an earlier follower of the first Chief. They were respected although most of them were weak fighters. This charisma and popularity among the people of Black Temple propelled them right to the pinnacle of power when their country started changing the system of government after a permanent multi-tribal alliance was reached. Their goal was to form a new civilization that does not depend solely on nature. From then on shaped the further civilization of Black Temple until today's military governed system.

The imperial clan - the Yong, later officially changed the name of Ancient City to Black Temple after the death of the first Chief.

The Black Temple was based on the tomb built for the first Chief and the fact that he died in his true form as a black dragon. Since then the first Chief is not only respected as the ancestor and founder of the Black Temple, but also a god - The Great Dragon. His legacy among other things was his sword in which part of his soul was bound to, a sword known as the nation's sacred artifact - The Dragon Sword.

Because their former alliance's goals were primarily safety and defense, the chieftains decided that their system of government would be centered on military strength. Of course this military power was not held absolutely by the Chief but its implementation was discussed with the other tribal chiefs. They also form a council that will discuss ways to solve the various problems of their citizens.

The area of the former Jahr tribe which was managed by the Alo tribe was a frontier area occupied by the various ethnic minorities of the Black Temple, because of this the tribal representatives also have a place on the council to convey matters closely related to their ethnic minority.

With the Yongs becoming the royal family or imperial clan of Black Temple, over time most of the major tribes changed their registration to family or clans, while minority tribes still used the term tribes.

The betterment of people's lives was followed by the advancement of technology. They roamed around more at the eastern part of their land and found a whole new world.

It took the people of Black Temple quite some time to understand that they were part of a bigger land called Liu continent. The Black Temple was located in the farthest west and separated by an endless sea from the mainland. Its terrain surrounded by mountains, making its land one of the most abundant in Magick - the living and breathing force of the universe.

As the people of Liu continent divided people by power, the discovery of this infant land attracted the attention of leaders of other countries. They openly extended the rope of friendship to Black Temple. For decades to come Black Temple actively made contact with the outer world. Making use of their ancient knowledge as a bargaining chip to exchange insight with other countries.

Magick was a divine source of power, the practitioner of this power was called Magika.

The Magika mostly were people with magick tendencies or talent but yet to reach any specialization realm. There were three types of specialized magika known in the Liu continent, Magika Pixie was specialized in medicine and array, the Magika Witch mastered the spell and potions, while the Magika Warrior excelled in tactical skill and martial arts.

Most people called the specialized as Pixie, Witch, or Warrior to distinguished between the common and specialized magika. Although it was rare, there was a type of magika that excel at every specialized art and considered a legend, they called Magican. Only a few dozen people were recorded in history as Magican in the span of a millennium.

Black Temple was famous as Warrior Land because their hard geography was abundant in Magick and made their advancement very easy. They were called a temple yet actually, their country was like a fortress, impenetrable due to its natural surroundings and the protection of its Warrior.

Black Temple's Magika was top notch and their Warrior was undoubtedly the strongest. This harmony between people and nature turned them into a dark horse as a new force. This prowess was known throughout the continent and at times like this, Wu Yifei hated the fact she was the Young Chief of this nation.

When a Chief was an equivalent to the Emperor or King, the Young Chief was basically the same as the Crown Prince.

Black Temple didn't believe in giving a noble position according to one's bloodline, even among the royal born only the eldest was appointed as orthodox heir and recorded in imperial clan genealogy.

Influenced by their warrior and tribal root, Black Temple based people on their combat ability, military merit, and contribution to society. The Chief commanded both military and civil affairs, but if a Young Chief was already appointed then some responsibility was shouldered by them until the day they ascended the sword as the Chief.

Wu Yifei was the second born of the current Chief - Wu Zilan, but due to some circumstances, she was now the Black Temple's Young Chief. Some disturbances like those little fellas back in the barrack was something she never accustomed to but hard to prevent like now.

"Young Chief!"

Those tall young men in formal military uniforms were grinning ear to ear.

Ranked as Captain in Black Temple, the three of them have a fair share of underhand operation and the battlefield, yet in front of the girl their junior, they couldn't help but tremble. Not only she was the Young Chief, but she was also an excellent Warrior, if not the best.

"Can I help you, Captains?"

"The Chief summoned everyone to the Situation Hall. We just arrived and wondered if the Young Chief will allow us to walk together with you."

Wu Yifei turned a blind eye to their eager and sparkling eyes. Walked towards the Situation Hall.

There was another mission waiting for her.
