Situation Hall

The Situation Hall was a meeting place inside the palace, this place only used to discuss matters which were already finalized by the Council or an urgent matter that needed the Chief's attention.

There were about a dozen people, mostly key figures in their government including her father forming a half circle, looking at the realistic miniature of Liu continent with so much concentration. Not noticing the girl or the sneaked in Captain to their respective seats.

The Captain and General were all here, that meant today's meeting scale was quite big yet she didn't hear anything about deploying their soldiers in daily council meetings. This matter certainly was an urgent matter.

In their Black Temple's military system, a unit consisted of 100 soldiers which were led by a lieutenant. While a division consisting of 100 lieutenants led a captain. A battalion consisted of 5 captains under a general.

Those generals lead a big troop called regiment, in which they had their individual headquarters or training camp. Those regiment generals were called commanders to differentiate them from the honorary general without army.

There were five regiments in Black Temple named Red Batalyon, The Silvan, Proxy, Sentinels, and Legion.

This five regiment was the nation's military - Black Fleet and directly under the command of Chief. In total, the Black Fleet made up to 250.000 soldiers of all rank which were basically almost half of the nation's citizens.

In conclusion, Yifei's judgment wasn't far-fetched.

"We can't send our troops for them. We might be recorded as part of the continent, but we are an individual land and never bother with the politics bullshit anyway, why should we care if they are in a war." General Kun, commander of Sentinels regiment grunted.

Commander of the Legion regiment, General Xian passionately added. "Kun is right, Chief! Just let them brawling and destroy each other. They never put our Black Temple in their eyes for centuries. Why would they suddenly extend their hand for alliance now? They certainly want to use us."

Even though coming in the middle of conversation, Wu Yifei could guess what they were arguing about. Alliance was always a sensitive topic for people of Black Temple. Long time ago, before the change of imperial clan from the Yongs to the Wus, there was a stain of their history named Orhid Massacre. The historian only spared a paragraph to record it as "A battle between attackers and the western medical tribe - Orhid, resulting in the annihilation of the tribe. The culprit was never found."

The government conducted an investigation and nothing was found out. The domestic tribe certainly wouldn't attack another tribe, the attack also wasn't the barbarian's deed, everything was a dead end so they concluded it as a shadow invader.

Who else could they suspect other than the other countries?

The Black Temple called the temple yet actually their country was like a fortress, impenetrable due its natural surrounding. They have mountains behind them, the wild forest on their left, desert on their right, and endless sea separating them from the mainland where the brewing heat came from.

Technically, Black Temple was more like an island than Salt Island as the latter was actually a neighbor country of the biggest country of the continent, Phoenix Empire. They are known more like a lover than an ally, especially when the public female figure they chose was always a disciple of Salt Circle - an educational institution of Pixie Magick.

General Xian may be said they, but the only one desperate enough to reach out to their nation was certainly the Buckwheat Kingdom.

When the Broen Dynasty was known for their high intellect and self-sufficiency, they didn't need to extend their hand for an alliance. The other party usually begged them for the alliance.

The Iron Kingdom was a ruthless and advanced country, their ambition to rule the continent was widely known. That's why their permanent ally was Azure Nation. A prosper and open country where Sacred Forest - the habitat of beasts of all kinds located. The Iron Kingdom may be brutal and advanced, but they were not foolish enough to attack where powerful magika beast live. That was the reason why their alliance was strong because both have equal standing.

With Phoenix Empire and Salt Island join the force, the Iron Kingdom on their north, and Azure Nation on their west there's no mistaken Buckwheat Kingdom was on the brink of collapsing.

Yifei chuckled, it was the real reason behind the birthday invitation. Buckwheat Kingdom desperately needed their help. As an agricultural country, their land was vast and fertile. They were pacifists and hardly invested in their military.

All other nations wanted something from them, acting like allies but having wolf ambitions. Black Temple was the safest choice for the Buckwheat Kingdom to ask for help. It was clear that their Warrior Magick was the best, they were too far away to attempt to annex the Buckwheat Kingdom's territory.

All eyes now divert to the unordinary sound. Realizing her mistake, Yifei cleared her throat. "Chief, Generals. Permission to speak freely."

Wu Zilan's lips twitched, he nodded. 'What's the point of asking permission now. She's already making plans when she laughs.'

"Since our neighbor is desperate only fitting for us to help them. If we can't send troops then we can send experts. As their reason for an alliance is indeed our combat skill. The great Black Temple won't be weakened just because some of their best fighters are away." Yifei curled her lips upward, "Beside the new recruits just finished their training. It is the best time for us to test their abilities."

That arrogance and domineering way of thinking was nothing new for the elders, but for dozens of young captains in the hall, it was like an enchanting spell. Allured them to submit and worship her.

Wu Zilan was not a fool, he was managing a country of more than half a million people after all. "Alright, I understand your opinion, Generals. Let me discuss the plan with the Young Chief." A pause, "You all dismissed."

There were all kinds of rumors about the Young Chief - Wu Yifei, a few years ago her name was renowned for her company FEI, which graced her a title Heiress at a young age. The business circle described her as smart yet vengeful, she always made good deals in business and never took any losses. If anyone dares to mess with her an inch, she'll mess with them a thousand miles.

Then she made a shocking performance on the coronation day as the chosen orthodox heir. The official statement was Captain Wu Yifan was injured on a mission and had to recuperate so that his title was transferred to his twin sister.

Rumor had it that she was very selfish and domineering, it was said that Wu Yifei deliberately injured his twin brother so that she could take over the orthodox heir position and became the Young Chief. Bad rumors about her continued to emerge shortly after her coronation, many say that Wu Yifei always abused her authority to bully the weak, and before she was given the title of Heiress she used the money to control people.

Wu Yifei's rumors were wild and varied, from her so-called demonic appearance to her insolent and uncivilized behavior. Not to mention that she was friends with the most influential young master in Black Temple - the Ji Young Masters. The most famous pair of twins and was the dream lover of all women second only to Wu Yifan.

Few know the true Wu Yifei, but as the person, at peak of power here Wu Zilan could guarantee her efficiency and resourcefulness. His eyes turned expectantly, "Say, what kind of trick do you have under your sleeves?"

"Bring the recruits and experts among my guards of course. Buckwheat Kingdom already gives us this perfect disguise, we will stay for about a month."

"The Iron Kingdom or Phoenix Empire won't let you succeed."

"Huli and the Qilins can handle their spies."

"How could you stay in another country for a month? Buckwheat Kingdom is a pacifist but they are a nation after all. How could they let you stay that long? Their court will protest just in a week."

"Their side can think of the excuse themselves, just rest assured Chief. I never failed my missions, didn't I?"

"Of course not, not only finished the mission brilliantly you also have time to do a side mission." Tapping his fingers to the wheelchair's arm, Wu Zilan eyed his daughter. "Do you still insist on finding Yifan?"

Saying Yifei was fearless was no exaggeration, she had nearly died on missions countless times even as her coronation made it through the temptations of the death gatekeepers. But the oppression of this man she called father was no joke, she held back her trembling and raised her chin slightly. "Yifan is my brother, my twin. Your son and the rightful heir of this position. It is a warrior's duty to stand by rightfulness. Haven't you always said that?"

Yifei flung to the air, choked.

"Have I been so good to you that you forget who I am?"

"No, Chief," She answered between gasps.

She never forgot the father and son duo was the renowned warrior. She might be strong, but compared to the true power between the two she was basically nothing.

"Good, just do your duty. Yifan's funeral will be held once you come back and my position will be yours rightfully."
