Compromising treaty

Chris POV-

I was striding towards my car along with steve. Luca will be handling here everything. We are going to propose compromising proposal to that prince avon.

My black jaguar was standing outside the front door ready to race on the road. Today, i am not taking my warriors with me, because if avon will accept the proposal then there is no need for the war. And if there will be any emergency then i think, my wolf will handle them all alone.

As i stepped out in the front garden, i saw that princess haley is walking along with mariah and her maid. Mariah was telling her something controlling her laugh while she was laughing without any fear on that topic.

My steps halted, steve collided with my back. He followed my gaze and with a lopsided grin he strode away from there to my car.

Haley was wearing a yellow gown which was simple but on her, it looks amazing. Her hair was in a pony, falling on her left shoulder.

She sensed something and looked at me. Her laughing stopped. Her maid and mariah seemed to notice it and bow their head down. They left her alone.

We glanced at each other for few second until i decided to break the silnce.

I step towards her slowly, and stood infront of her. She took deep breathes and looked shyly down.

I don't know why she is shy infront of me. It's not like we didn't met before. We even talked but anyways, i liked her shyness. Oh god, i like everything about her. My wolf was wiggling inside me. I don't know about her wolf. If she is as excited as mine.

"Last night, was amazing" oh shit. That sounded wrong. She looked at me frowning. She is so innocent that she didn't even know double meaning things.

" I...i mean, dinner. Dinner was amazing"

She grinned "Yeah! Same here. " She gazed at the car outside, and then at my appearance " Are you going somewhere"

" Yeah. Your father's kingdom" she frowned. " There are some important matters to discuss" i explained

" Oh, okay" she smiled and nodded.

We stood there silently for few seconds gazing around. I don't know what to talk about then i decided not to get late.

" Okay, i will be going now, you take care. And have lunch with mariah. Just have fun with her. "

" Sure. We will eat dinner together" She smiled at me. My insides melted right away. She will wait for me.

'She will wAit for us' laven wagged her tail and paced in my mind excitedly. I didn't show emotions on my face. I nodded and strode away from her. I didn't want to go away but, i have to.

Steve was waiting on the driver seat. Before sitting on the passenger seat, i looked back to check if she is waiting for me or not. But to my surprise she was standing on the entrance. She smiled and waved at me.

Then at that time i knew. I knew that whatever happen, she will always wait for me. My queen. I waved at her. And sat in the car. Steve ignited the engine and start driving away from my mansion. I again looked in the rear view mirror. She is still standing, but her smile faded. She looked slightly upset. But why?

Haley POV-

I might be smiling at him. But my mood saddened as he sat in the car and move away from me. I don't know why, but my wolf is too upset by it.

"Umhh, it seems someone is sad." a voice interrupted and i looked at my right. Mariah has a teasing smile and she winked at me.

"No. No i am not sad, why would i be" i countered back making a straight face. But my face tells her all.

" Oh, so your red face is telling a lie huhh" she laughed and nudged her elbow at my side. I turned crimson red. Hiding my smile i entered the house. She laughed and followed behind me.

"Princess, you might be hungry. Would you like to Have your lunch" My maid asked me.

" I think she is right hal, we should eat something. Because i am famishing" she called me by my nickname. Mariah is literally became my bestfriend in just few hours. At first she took all the formalities by not calling my name, bowing her head infront of me but i told her not to be formal. It took her some time but she agreed. We got along so well.

" Yeah, i am a bit hungry too."

We decided to have lunch and then after that we had so much fun. We walk around the mansion. Some pack members came and mariah personally introduced them to me. They are so sweet and acceptable.

The meeting took place in the conference hall of king logan's court. He is sitting on the head chair and on his right is son, Christopher, steve. On his left his superiors are sitting one by one. On the opposite avon is sitting with his men.

Chris POV-

I don't know what the hell is wrong. Why can't i smell his scent. He just seems so wierd to me from the starting. I can sniff the air and i can tell that there are 12 humans except me and steve. Every human has some natural scent of their own like us but he hasnt any.

King logan started the meeting.

"Robert " he nodded to his superior who nodded back in response and stood up from the chair.

He held some stack of papers and read the treaty.

"I, king logan matthews call off the marriage between my daughter haley and King avon of tunis. Instead of fighting, i would give king avon my two cities which was conquered by me 25 years ago. But king avon should promise me not to put up the war again."

"And if this won't suffice, we can fight as long as you want" King logan voice boomed with a confidence.

Avon stared at him for few seconds and then glance at me. He smirked. What the fuck with his smirking face.

I rolled my eyes.

"Offcourse it's enough for me your highness. But along with it i want something else too" he told the king. I looked at him.

"and what is it?" asked king logan.

" The reason for calling this wedding off." as soon he asked the king, i growled.

He noticed me.

King logan said "This is something we can't tell you" that's because when haley shifted, queen kenny stopped the time. So their people didn't know about haley being a healer and warewolf. This is information is between there family and mine.

He again looked at king and smirked. " Why? Is your daughter love someone else? Or is the reason that shameful to even tell me??" his men laughed. Steve and i growled. His brother edward took sword out. We two stood up from the chair ready to charge at him until king himself speak.

" You should be in your limit avon. My daughter is pure and we don't have to give any proof to you people. "

Exactly. She is too naive to be like this. How dare he insult my mate.and now i have doubts. Why is he too adamant to know the reason. Did he know something.

"I'm sorry highness, but it's my right to know the reason. She was going to marry me."

"The reason is that we warewolf can't smell your scent. Because you don't seem normal to me. You are hiding yourself. You are a bloody disguise in king's attire." I can't control myslef and my alpha tone boomed in the hall. His men stood up ready to fight. His face looked shocked for a while then he masked and stand up as well.

" i don't understand why heck these animals are between us highness. This matter belongs to you and me. "

Steve growled and his eyes almost turn black. But edward handled the matter. "Because we both communities support each other in need. This is not of your concern. So just shutup"

Avon sensed something. Without any further he accepted the treaty. And signed the papers. Before going he took last glance at me. I glared at him and he scurried away.

King logan signed their men to leave the room. Now we four are left in the room. Edward walked to my side.

"Are you mad or what. Why the hell did you insult him. Listen we can handle our matters by ourselves, you don't have to fucking interrupt in this. Just fight for us as given in the treaty" My eyes turn black at his threat and i faced him.

" She is my mate. And if anyone talk about her wrong, i will rip their heart and then feed it to the eagles. Don't threaten me ever. Your matter or not i won't ever tolerate unecessary talk about her. What i was doing is to protect her from any blames"

"You better be alpha, because if something happens to my little sister, i will surely rip your head apart" edward threaten me again steve growled, but before i can attack him.

King logan spoke up "Enough! Don't talk to him in that way ed. He is doing what is right"

He looked at him shocked and when king glared at him, he bow his head down and step away from me.

"I am sorry on behlaf of him alpha christopher. You know, brother instincts. He is overprotective of his sister." king told me

I calm down at his statement and nodded. I can understand.

"Please always protect my daughter at any cost" he almost pleaded. I took his hand and smiled

"We should leave now" king nodded and we both left from their.

In the midst of road when we were talking about some randome stuff. Steve halted the car by applying brakes. He closed his eyes and clutched his chest painfully.

"What happened? " i asked.

His wolf took control over him. He growled.

"Mate mate mariah, she is in danger. I should go"

Shit. Something happen to mariah.

Before he opened the door, I quickly slipped out of the passenger seat and hold on the driver seat. Steve dragged his body on passenger seat and screamed horribly. What the heck. Haley is with them how could something happen to mariah.

He tried mindlink mariah but she seemed off. I mind link luca because haley and i didn't have mated yet.

I drove fast because luca isn't replying to me. When i was two minutes away from my pack, luca suddenly replied me and told me somethinv which shook my ground beneathe my legs. I held the dtaring wheel tightly and edward's words came to my mind.

Protect.

"Haley" was all i could say before parking the car outside the mansion.
