“What did this Mat do to you that made you despise him so much?” he asked with a smirk then he looked through the peephole himself while Lily continued. “It’s a long story, I’ll tell you some other time.” As Xavier looked at Mat his eyes widen and he went motionless as if he was in a trance, Lily noticed this and quickly asked if he was ok. Xavier look at her sternly and simply said “Do you know this man?” “Yeah, he is just my ex-fiancé and was filming for a myth busting thing or something. Why did you ask?” Lily said “I suggest keeping your distance from this man.” Xavier returned. “Why? What’s wrong?” she asked confused. Xavier lowered Lily on the floor while striding passed her, “I don’t know why but the people I kill have these auras around them that makes me feel angry all of a sudden. I later found out that these auras only manifest on people who have ill intentions. Lily became tense and there were butterflies in her stomach at this point, “Why are you telling me this?” Lily managed to piped up. “Because that person you call Mat is surrounded by this aura.” he said plainly. Lily was shocked when she heard this, “I know he’s a jerk and all but what could he possibly do to hurt someone or me?” Lily questioned. Xavier turned to her with a look of concern clearly on his face “I do not know, but its better that you should keep your distance from him just to be on the safe side.” Xavier stated. Lily simply nodded in agreement “By the way, I came here to tell you the good news, right? she while she slumped her bag into the floor. “Feast your big white eyes on this” she said while showing the tome to him. Xavier grabbed it with a newly materialized arm, “What is this?” he said while he examined the tome. “It’s a collection of symbols and alphabet of your mother’s ancestors, we can now decipher the book of incantation! Isn’t that great? We’re one step closer to getting you back to normal!” she said with a cheer. “Very well, let’s get started then.” he returned the tome to Lily and proceeded to stride pass her. “Where are you going” Lily asked. “There is a room where you can study both books, you can use it for the time being. Follow me” he said. “Cool, I hoped its airconditioned.” she jokingly said. Xavier chuckled and said “I doubt it” and then they went to the room.
The two passed the hall of portraits and stopped at the end of the hall, Xavier stopped at a door secured by padlock. “It’s locked” Lily inquired, Xavier smirked and from under his darkened cloak, a tentacle sprang out and with one swift strike the lock shattered into pieces, falling into the floor like glitter on paper. Xavier looked at Lily still smirking, Lily turned her head and scoffed “Hmmf, show off. It was probably loosening from age”. Xavier cracked a smile and began opening the room, it was small and dark probably caused by the planks covering the windows, but they could still see the faint outline of a book shelf on the left side of the room and a table in the other. Xavier went it and Lily followed close behind but stopped near the desk, Xavier continued walking to one of the windows. Its was too dark to see but Lily can faintly see Xavier summoning several tendrils from under his cloak and started to tear down the planks covering it. He coiled one plank with a tentacle and pulled with all if his might, then a loud crack echoed around the room causing Lily to cover her ears and closing her eyes. Xavier jerked from the blinding light now entering the room then he proceeded tearing the remaining planks, ripping them from their nails one by one slowly lighting up the dark room. When he was finished, Lily slowly opened her eyes to see the full extent of the room. The floor was dusty and the bookshelf had no books. She knocked on the desk to see if it was still sturdy, sure enough the termites didn’t get to this part of the room. “This used to be my father’s study room but only he was able to enter and since the execution happened, no one stepped foot on this room since until now”. he said looking around the small enclosure. “You can use this room while you decode the book of incantations.” Lily spun around to look at the entirety of the room but she stepped on her foot and fell of balance, before she could hit the floor Xavier caught her with an arm. She giggled and said “It’s perfect and look” she pointed at the empty book shelf, “I could bring some books from my house so you could read some of them while I work.” “Fair enough” Xavier replied while slowly lowering Lily on her feet. “Speaking of work, let’s get started on the decoding.” she walked to her bag and dragged it to the table she slumped the two books on the desk and sat on the chair. “Which one was the incantation again?” she asked. Xavier crept beside her as she slowly scanned through the pages, he slammed the book preventing Lily from turning another page. “That’s the one.” he exclaimed. Lily examined the chosen page, “Are you sure this is the one?” she asked cautiously. “Positive, my mother showed it to me before she started the incantation promising me that it would help me heal. I would never forget those drawings.” he said confidently. The page on the left consist of the typical format for the instructions would have and the page on the right has a drawing of the supposed ritual. Lily knew this because it consists of the person being ritualized and surrounding it were five symbols. It was like your typical book of spells and with the help of the tome, she would be able to understand the language and symbols so they could perform the spell. “Well, I shall leave it to you then. If you would have need of me, I will be downstairs to monitor if someone else wondered to close to the mansion again.” he said while striding out the door. “Don’t close the door it’s a little spooky around here.” she quipped. Xavier chuckled and said “Yes because you are there.” he replied. Lily laughed and started deciphering.
