Chapter 15
Demitria Frostine
"Good day, students! I am glad to present to you the last ten players of the battle. Everyone, please welcome the ten most promising students. Lorcan, Seraphina, Liro, Tallulah, Zephyr, Illiana, Imelda, Camellia, Dylan, and Demitria."
Every one of us didn't look so happy and satisfied. They are just starting on the ground, no one even congratulates others. They all remained quiet.
"See, I told you that you can do this by just trusting what you can do," Camellia whispered in my ear. I looked at her and saw the ends of her lips rose.
"If you only knew what happened," Tallulah said and wink at us. Her wink made me laugh that left Camellia looked so confused.
Minutes later, the guards started to appear. Two on both sides and in a blink of an eye, we are back in our room where the entrance of our tube was located.
I sat down as I leaned on the tube, closed my eyes, and intertwined my hands. I almost, almost out of the battle but thanks to Tallulah's being so full of words, That took a lot of time and end up being part of the second battle.
"Demi!"
I tried so hard not to fall as I walk towards the door, opened it, and went out. Camellia was outside with her twin brother Craig. They both look worried so they took both of my hands and put them on their shoulders.
I saw Lorcan standing in the distance, looking at us. His friend went to him and pulled him too towards the exit. Seeing them made me think that they might be a group of cool students besides his circle of friends includes the best students in this academy.
"Tallulah is still the same. She is nice but she still chooses violence." The healer said.
I was lying down on the bed as she conducts different spells on me. I cannot even feel anything, even the pain was gone as soon as she started the process.
"But all in all she is still nice, Isn't she?" She asked.
"She is." I smiled when I remembered how she never left me in the field and even help me to walk.
"With the rest of two days, your energy and power will be back to their original level. As of now, your energy is low that hinders you from using your element." The healer exclaimed.
"What about the wounds?"
"All of them will be good to go in no time," She said and gave me a bottle of potion.
"What do I need this for?" I said as I examined the bottle with a transparent potion inside.
"Drink that every after meal. It will help you to cleanse your wound and put your energy back." She exclaimed and guide me towards the door.
"Thank you for helping me," I said and bowed, she smiled and gently closed the door.
I walked back to my room and lay down on my bed. I cannot believe that the battle of the elements was now finished and all I need to do now is to wait for the date of the second round.
I stared at the ceiling and memories from the battle pulled me back where I was able to obtain new levels and abilities. I was able to use them but I am not sure of how could I use them again.
"Ahhh!!" I scream under a pillow on my face. I cannot believe this is happening. I was happy to still survive although I lost on my last battle if River was here with me, he would be so proud of me.
I woke from hearing knocks on my door. Although I was still sleepy, I walked directly to the door and hit the doorknob.
"Hi! We just thought that we should hang out after the battle." Camellia said and pushed me gently back to my room.
She was with Craig and I thought that Craig was still disappointed and sad about the results of the last battle. We found out that he was the last to be defeated in the game. His lost made me part of the last ten players.
"Craig needed this too, he was so disappointed," said Camellia.
"I have already accepted my fate," Craig said and took a shot of the whiskey they brought.
"Your spot is still amazing to be proud of, You know," I said.
"Let us not talk about it now, I am still trying to figure things especially on how should I tell our parents," Craig said and laid down on my bed, his arms are wide open.
Camellia and I both looked at each other's eyes. We talked about what happened to the last battle held last year. They said that it was the best yet the worst battle of the elements and battle of the best.
"Lorcan was pressured by his mom and so is Seraphina," exclaimed Camellia.
"It was a hell of a fight, They almost killed each other just to be the best there is," Craig added.
"They both carries a huge kingdom behind them, being second is not an option for both of them," I said.
"Definitely a sad truth," Camellia said and took a shot of whiskey.
"We all do carry responsibility and it much heavier if you're protecting your family's name."
I sighed when I realized what Craig had said. He was right. He had hit the spot. Each one of us has been carrying something on our back, that is why we cannot blame other people if they seemed so hard to deal with.
Sometimes, understanding their position is also huge respect and help to them.
"That's enough," I said and tried to take the whiskey bottle from Camellia's hand. She was already knocked out from it yet she continues to drink.
Craig was already sleeping on my bed, facing the other side of the bed. We had a nice conversation that we almost forgot the time. The moon was already shining in the sky accompanied by the stars. The wind was blowing hard that made the leaves of the trees dance with it.
I walk towards the window and let myself be mesmerized by the view. From the window, I watched the city from afar. How I missed being roaming that place with... With River...
"Demitria, Please come to the Headmaster's office now."
I almost lost my heart for a second when I suddenly heard a voice but no one was here with me. Am I hallucinating?
"Demitria, this is telepathy. I am talking to you in your head." The voice was familiar and I think this is Lorcan.
Before I went outside, I checked the twins and gave them both a blanket to hug them when they felt cold. I closed the door silently and walked through the hallway.
Being alone in this alley sends shivers down to my spine but this was nothing new to me. We always do this in the town especially in the forest when we have to go through them as we deliver fruits and vegetables.
The Headmaster's office was located on the top part of the building so I have to climb the stairs alone with only a small amount of lights on the wall.
"Shit, I feel dizzy now. I should not have drunk a lot," I said.
After minutes of walking, I'm already sweating and the battle with the dizziness nest continues. Whe I reached the office, I didn't know what should I do. I was about to knock on the door when It opened and revealed Lorcan.
"My father has been waiting for you," He said and let me entered the room.
His father was sitting on his chair and was writing something. He looks busy yet he was still able to give his son a lot of attention. Their bond must be unbreakable.
"I would like to congratulate you for successfully surviving the battle. You never failed to impress not only me but most of the council." The Headmaster said.
"I lost to Tallulah, It was just about time. I almost lost the only chance of seeing my brother again," I started, looked at him and shifted my gaze to the floor.
"I almost die in the battle, I am nothing compared to them. Headmaster, please... Is there any other way to find him?"
"River is being held captive in the Shadow Kingdom."
