Your name is connected to the answer of the question "Whose image are you?" or "Who are you?" You are who God said you are, not who you think you are even when you would want to hinge on, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he", that does not make you whom you truly are, it will only make you whom you think you are, because who you are is based on whom God has made you to be, so what do you say you are if your thought is actually outside what God has made you to be? This is our major problem in Christianity and we are still deliberately resisting the truth and making it seem as if the truth has become another gospel. God will open the eyes of our understanding to the very truth of God's mind in Jesus name.
Genesis 32:27-30
So He said to him, "What is your name?" He said, "Jacob. And He said, "Your name shall NO LONGER be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed", then Jacob asked, saying, "Tell me Your name, I pray." And He said, "Why is it that you ask My name? And He blessed him there so Jacob called the name of the place Peniel; for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved.
How would Jacob's life be preserved if he were still dwelling in the carnal knowledge of his name? The change of name translated Jacob from being carnally minded to spiritually mindedness and that was why he was able to see God face to face and live and this should be a big lesson to us Christians, because the reality of the truth is not in our supplanting attitude, but our true nature which reveals that His love for us IS REAL (Israel). Jacob asks God "What is Your name? Moses got the answer and requested to see what Jacob saw face to face.
Exodus 3: 13, 14
Then Moses said to God, "Indeed when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, "what is His name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM" and He said, I AM has sent me to you.
This simply implies God can choose to become whoever and whatever He wants to become to reveal Himself and make His knowledge known to men.
Exodus 33: 20-23
But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me, and live." And the LORD said, "Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand and you shall see My back, but MY face shall not be seen.
"No man" here simply mean carnal mindedness because to be carnally minded is death, that was why God said, "For no man shall see Me and live", "God taking away His hand, opened Moses' eyes of understanding to the dateless beginning as he saw God's back and has given as the information as regarding what he saw in the five books he wrote, now that we are in the days when the Word has already made flesh and we beheld His glory, and He has died and resulted and He is now living inside of us, even as we have seen His voice and are yet to see Him as He really is, what shall we see? We shall see His front and we have already seen His back from Moses and when we unite both the Back and the Front, we will not just experience His glory pass by, His glory is coming to stay and live in us forever.
1 John 3: 1- 2
Behold what manner of love the father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Being like God can only come to play when He is revealed and we have seen Him as He really is. This simply talking about having a face to face encounter with God after our translation to glory, but can never be possible when we are still living in flesh and operating at the carnal dimension, and it is never the mind of God for us to end up in endless excuses and this can only be when what we have accepted is connected to Genesis 3: 5 and it is never the same with 1 John 3: 2, so don't get it twisted. You need truly the precise and correct knowledge of the world of God, not to misinterpret to interpret scriptures.
