PAINFUL MARRIAGE 9
Selena's POV
The tasty aroma of a food urged me to open my eyes and so I did. I stretched my body, stunned when I saw my husband, his back is facing me. Based on the rattle of cutlery he prepares meals on the small table in the master's bedroom. I stared at him and I can't help but to smile.
I carefully got out of bed so that he would not be disturbed but he must have felt my presence because he turned his back on me. I blinked when he suddenly smiled.
"You're awake," he put the glass he was holding in the middle of the table. I was able to sit up as he started walking towards the bed.
"How's your sleep?" he asked. He sat across from me as I moved. He noticed it that made him chuckled. "I'm okay," I said and bowed.
"Hmm, the food is ready. Let's eat lunch," he said and got up from the bed. I bit my bottom lip and get up too. I fell to my feet when my head suddenly ached. He held my waist and supported my body.
"Are you okay? What's happening?" he asked, I can sense concern on his voice. "I don't know," I grabbed my head, dizzy. I glanced at Emerson in front of me, he was blurred in my sight. And before I could even talk, everything went black.
I woke up to the familiar smell of the hospital. I slowly opened my eyes and the white ceiling welcomed me. I blinked and looked to the side. I saw Aunt Nila's eyes widen when she saw that I was awake.
"Hija! It's good that you're awake," she said and hurried to approach me. I tried to get up so she supported me. "How are you feeling? Is your head still hurting?"
I shook my head and smiled at her. "Not anymore, auntie. What just happened?" I asked.
I caught a glimpse of my husband talking to a doctor outside. He was very attentive, frowning and seemed to be listening carefully to what the female doctor was saying.
"Your husband called me saying that you lost consciousness while you were talking. The doctor said it was because of stress. Oh hija, do not neglect yourself. We are worried about you, including your husband. He was restless while the doctor looks at you."
I glanced at Emerson again outside. I frowned because he's no longer there and female doctor. I sighed and turned to Aunt Nila.
