“Must've been coma-heavy for the big guy to miss a chance to read something." Danil shrugged and went along with Kandais. The hall that greeted them was tall and dim, lit by a few dozen torches with dancing flames. The shadows of their ornate sconces capered across a thick woven carpet of kings sitting at court and heroes battling monsters. The walls were smoky cream between gold-framed portraits and shelved busts.

The doors of the library were grand and dark, perhaps an equal effort of both, and carved carefully to appear as contesting tendrils. A gilded plaque hung at eye level stating 'Yadrash Mefori Dadjana' in flowing text. Kandais drew the doors open, splitting 'Mef' from 'fori,' and they entered.
