Press Conference

They got to the gate and the gate keeper opened the gate immediately and bowed down. Debby ignored him and walked calmly to the front door of the mansion. She turned to look at Ella. Ella understood and opened the door. Debby walked to the living room door about to open it when she overheard Minister Iwi yelling on the phone.

“What do you mean she’s here, why will the Queen be here? Hold her off!” Minister Iwi yelled on the phone.

“So you don’t want me to pay you a visit.” Debby said smiling. Her voice drew the attention of the people in the living room to her. She came in rather silently and Iwi that was trying to solve the crisis he was in didn’t notice her in the living room until she spoke up.

Advisor Williams came to visit to discuss how what they will do next and Minister Oliver rushed over here after the evidences were released to the press. So when Debby spoke up, the two ministers and Advisor Williams turned to the door and were shocked to see Debby there.

Neither of them spoke for a while and Debby was tired of standing at the door so she spoke with a clearly mocking tone. “Do I not deserve your respect anymore? Am I that small in your eyes?” Debby did say it mocking them but she was actually upset. Back in Nigeria, when someone superior than you comes in, you are supposed to respect the person. They were just standing like log of wood staring at each other.

Immediately, Minister Iwi and Oliver and Advisor Williams bowed in respect. Debby nodded and sat comfortably on a couch nearby.

“You know, the press is waiting for you to make your statement. If you keep hiding here, it gives the people reason to believe you’re guilty.” Debby spoke up looking at the Ministers. The evidences don’t point to Williams so he really has no issue for now.

“So you believe we’re not guilty?” Minister Oliver said looking up thinking there was hope for him. After all, if he could make the Queen believe they’re not guilty, they can be safe. He knows he’s guilty but he wasn’t aware of how the press got the evidences and how there weren’t evidences against Advisor Williams. He did know that somehow Advisor Williams has washed his hands clean and left them the mess to clean up. His mistake was trusting Advisor Williams. He thinks maybe Advisor Williams probably released the evidences to the press to end his career. Minister Oliver started thinking of ways to deal with Advisor Williams if he’s able to get out of it.

“Oh I know you’re guilty.” Debby smiled and stood. She would really be a fool if she believed they were innocent.

“I came here for four purposes. The first purpose I will not tell you but I have already achieved it.” It was quite obvious; there wasn’t a need for her to be all dolled up neither was there need for so many Security Agents. She was showing off and sending a message to them that she still has power over them and that she’s the Queen and that she can deal with them. She’s also daring them to make a move. No one dared to comment on it. Advisor Williams could only keep his anger in his heart and smile. After all, his plan was working perfectly.

“The second purpose is to organize a press conference with all of you explaining everything to the press. The third purpose is to tell Advisor Williams to deliver this message to Miss Gina Williams. I am officially suing her for blasphemy. I could easily deal with this but what’s the fun in that? You’ll hear from my lawyer later.” A mischievous look flashed on Debby’s face and a surprised look flashed on Advisor Williams face. He really wanted to ask the reason but decided against it, he wasn’t aware of what Gina said on the news. It wasn’t part of their plan.

“And now the last purpose can only be fulfilled during the press conference. Therefore” Debby turned to Minister Iwi. Debby didn’t need to finish her statement. Iwi understood and made a phone call with his eyes twitching; he knew that after the press, his career would be over; all his hard work down the drain.

Debby was quite impressed with Minister Iwi; he was able to organize the press conference quick and of course with Ella supervising it.

They were all seated and the moderator started the conference with introduction and what not. Then he allowed the reporters ask questions.

“Your highness.” The reporter bowed. “What are your thoughts on Lady Gina’s accusation?”

Advisor Williams was surprised. ‘Which accusation?’ He thought. He didn’t ask though and kept a straight face. He really wanted to check the news on his phone. He didn’t check it before because he could see what was happening in the expression of their faces.

“Lady Gina Williams will hear from my lawyers.” As Debby was talking, she gave Williams a look, Williams however didn’t understand the look but he knew that Debby has something against him through his daughter. He was right. She turned back to smile at the reporters.

The second one asked “Your highness, what are you planning to do about the kidnapping case?”

“They broke the rules, they’re going to have to suffer the consequences, there’s nothing I can do about that…” The reporters kept asking and Debby answered to the best of her abilities until a strange question.

“Your highness, there’s a new scandal going around. What is going to happen to the prime minister and Lady Gina’s marriage after cheating on him?” Debby hearing this question almost face palmed. The other people turned to look at the reporter, some almost snickered at her stupidity, and reason is because Gina and Brice’s engagement has nothing to do with Debby.

“Well, Lady Gina’s scandal has nothing to do with me. If the Prime Minister decide to break his engagement with Lady Gina, it’s his decision. He was the one cheated on after all.” Debby didn’t even spare to glance at Advisor Williams, he thought he could get out of it unscratched? Debby didn’t allow it at all. She just ruined his daughter’s reputation and she is about to make it worse. She asked Brice to make a scandal out of it. She didn’t think he would be this harsh on his fiancé. Anyway, it worked out for her so she doesn’t really care.

A reporter was about to ask a question but Debby stopped him.

“Well, we don’t have forever to spend here. I am no longer taking questions. This is what will happen from now on. Because Minister Iwi and Oliver kidnapped the little boy, they will lose their position and their rights to participate in politics, they will also be arrested for the court to judge their crimes.” The moment Debby said arrested, police officers surrounded the ministers.

“Lady Gina however will lose her lady title and privileges for her behavior and will also hear from my lawyers.” When advisors becomes advisors, their family gain the ‘Lady’ or ‘Sir’ title which will give them more privileges. Their title can only be stripped off by the royal family when their behaviors cannot be condoled. Advisor Williams will receive a warning for Gina’s poor behavior. Thank you.” Debby said and walked out, her secret agents paving way for her, Brice by her right and Ella by her left.

After Debby left, Advisor Williams successfully broke the pen in his hand. Note the successfully. He was very annoyed with his daughter, her foolishness led to him to get a warning and she lost her ladyship title, the citizens don’t support her anymore. It will take a great deal of effort to get the people’s support back. On the other hand, his other plan worked perfectly. The Queen just got rid of her biggest help by herself. He can now openly cause trouble knowing she’ll not be able to bounce back easily. They could be useful tool for her in the future but he destroyed them. About Mkrium case, he gets a headache thinking about it. He thinks the Mkrium king is under love portion and his girlfriend has everything to do with it, however the Mkrium king protects his girlfriend too much, all his advances were blocked.

Advisor Williams sighed, Mkrium has to get it together or he will not be able to get rid of the Queen, they’re his biggest help. There’s only so much he can do without them.

However, while Advisor Williams was deep in thought, Debby entered her car exhausted. It was already past one in the morning. She has been busy since Brianna woke her last morning. She sent Ella home so it remained her and Brice in the car. Her destination was the terminal, she’s going back to the campus directly.

“I wonder why he destroyed those ministers.” Brice thought aloud. Debby thought back to the case.

“Yeah. I rose higher with the case, my image wasn’t really tarnished. It only led to his daughter losing her title. Which reminds me, why were you so harsh on your fiancé?”

“I am not in love with her. It was a forced engagement. My dad tied me with her so Williams won’t betray us because Gina is in love with me. I am not interested. The girl disgust me. Since you said I should create a scandal from her, I can do whatever I wish and cheat on her and be free. Because she cheated on me, I will not be branded as a cheater. I will force her to break the engagement with me.”

“I see. Anyway, find out Williams’s plan for me from your dad.” Debby said and stepped out of the car that was already parked at the terminal. She got down and waved at Brice before entering the terminal.
