The Appeal

Elli (2nd Person POV)

Elli never felt this anxious before except for when her mom forced her in a ballet class back when she was eight, and she had to wear a pink tutu.

It was the first time she would see the horrible person that made her cousin who she was today. And the one who was responsible for her Aunt Jasmine's death. She didn't know how to act, honestly.

Should she attack him the moment he stepped in? Or spat at his face? Or do both?

Elli felt Tolkien nudged him with his elbow. She glanced up at him with a frown. Freaking giant.

"What?" she hissed at him as they waited by the sitting room's door. Jun and Jace were patiently waiting by the front door.

"It's just Aeron and the Oyabun's wingman," Tolkien whispered. He probably noticed her apprehension. "At least that's what August said."

Elli let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "You're right. How come you're as calm as Jace and the jerkwad?"

Tolkien chuckled. "I'm not. But I trust Yui."
