CHAPTER 9

The lessons continued with Noelle paying rapt attention and writing down the important points, which caught the eye of many. This is because Noelle hardly ever paid attention in class, she was either sleeping or distracted so to them it was odd. Even to Noelle's lecturer.

"Noelle, I think the class is really interested in your change of behavior look at how they're staring," Noah teased. "Probably because you made me drink coffee instead of my usual milk which I normally drink, I can't even sleep if I wanted to." Noelle reprimanded. "But I helped so be grateful," Noah said. "Thank you, Mr. Hill." Noelle teased.

The third lesson they learned was languages, and they were on Japanese for the day. Noelle already knew the basics of Japanese, because her brother lived in Japan and taught her a few things when he was visiting them. The teacher was surprised by Noelle's attitude, she was a slow learner so she didn't expect her to catch on to the subject so quickly. One of the reasons why Noelle joined the extra classes, is that she wanted to improve on her slow learning pace.

As the basics were being taught, most of the class didn't understand Noelle was thanking her brother internally for teaching because the teacher was losing patience with those who hadn't caught on. Noah too was one of the few who had caught on, because he was the very opposite of Noelle, a fast learner.

"If you have any issues see me after class, I'm done here." The teacher reprimanded. Right after he left, and Noelle was done with her third lesson for the day and went to lunch. "Noah I'm heading off to lunch wanna come?" Noelle asked. "Yeah thanks for the invite," Noah said. They went to lunch and took a seat beside Liam, Amaya, Maya, and Mikaela. "Uh, Noelle why is Noah with you?" Maya asked.

"Oh, he is my project partner and in the same classes as me so I decided to invite him to eat with us, and I have to mention he will be coming over after school," Noelle answered. "Oh ok- wait what?!" Maya yelled. "Yeah," Noelle said. "More eating, less talking," Liam said. "It's no problem if Noah is here besides I'm the only boy here it's nice to have a pal for a change," Said Liam. "Ok let's eat," Mikaela said.

They all started eating and engaged in small talk. "So Mikaela how's your presentation coming about," Amaya asked. "Oh that it's coming around pretty well than I initially expected," Mikaela said. "Well we all can see how that's turned out, your grammar is much better," Maya added. "Noah, how's it partnering up with Noelle," Liam asked. "One word, tiring," Noah said. "She sleeps all the time and almost got us into trouble," Noah added. "Tell me about it, she so irritating, no offense, one time I partnered up with her, I had to beg our teacher to assign me a new partner," Liam said chuckling.

"Haha, make fun of me," Noelle said slightly annoyed. "Ok let's make fun of her," Liam said. He started laughing and everyone joined in. After a minute the laughter died down and they continued eating before they knew it the bell rang signaling lunchtime was over. Liam had the same class as Noah and Noelle so he went with them, bidding the rest goodbye.

"Wow, you guys are the talk of the school." Liam teased. As all eyes were on them. Particularly Noah and Noelle. "Stop Liam," Noelle said getting flustered. "Jason should get a whiff of this he's gonna be so jealous," Liam said chuckling. "A-And what makes you think he's gonna be jealous," Noelle said blushing. "Girl, are you that naive, haven't you seen the way he looks at you and you're blushing!" Liam teased. "Let's leave it that," Noelle said seemingly recovering from her earlier blush.

'They'll both have to learn things the hard way, they care deeply for each other and could even die for the other. I just hope things don't get too hard for them.' Liam said. Little did he know he wasn't too far off from his suggestion. A storm was brewing and it was gonna be huge.

They hurried on their way to the computer lab because the lesson was technology and they had a practical that day. As they entered they were greeted with an earful from their lecturer. "Mr. Miller, Mr. Hill, and Ms. Silver you're late, may I ask where you've been to be late!" The lecturer yelled. "Sorry, Sir we just came from the cafeteria." If in most colleges no one cared, then their school was the opposite. Pacific Cove university was one of the most prestigious boarding schools around.

It is a private school known for its academic excellence and discipline. The teachers were all renowned and didn't tolerate nonsense. So for a person to be late at one of their classes was considered an insult. "Ok go sit in back, and next time don't forget to go scot-free." The teacher said. "See what you got us into Liam," Noelle whispered. "Noelle you have no place to talk remember, you got us into trouble," Noah spoke up. They all shut their mouths and paid attention.

The lessons for the day ended and Noelle along with Jason headed to her dorm. On their way, they earned surprised glares which they had gotten used to by now. It was 3:30 pm, and Noelle had no work that day. She worked on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. And Noah had until 9:30 pm for curfew. It didn't apply to Noelle because she alerted the school that she had a job.

As they entered inside they were greeted with smoke coming out of the kitchen. 'Maya is cooking again.' Noelle thought. "Sorry Noah seems Maya's cooking again." Noelle apologized. "It's ok," Noah said smiling. "Maya what are you cooking now," Noelle said coughing as she neared the kitchen. "Pizza and it's now burnt," Maya said, saddened at her attempt to cook but failing miserably. "You do so much for me that I just wanted to make something nice for you," Maya said sadly.

"Aww, Maya I told you that there's no need. I love you, and I told you that if you wanna learn how to cook just ask me," Noelle said. "Ok, and sorry Noah." Maya apologized. "No need," Noah said chuckling. They cleaned the oven and made two fresh pizzas, one with pepperonis and the other with black olives.

They finished eating and Noelle and Noah got back to their project. In no time at all, they were done and had presented a very neat project to their teacher. The project wasn't yet due but they could submit as long as they were done. Noelle submitted it via the school's website. "All done now," Noelle said enthusiastically. She was glad they were done. "Ok I'll be on my way now, it was fun working with you, maybe we could hang out sometime, I'd love to get to know you and your friends more," Noah said rising up from the floor.

"Yeah Ok you can come by anytime or we could hang out this Saturday," Noelle added. "Ok then see you tomorrow," Noah said as he left. "Today was a very long day," Noelle said as she collapsed on her bed. "And I haven't seen Jason hope he has a good explanation this time," Noelle said. But what she didn't know was that this time she wouldn't even get an explanation.
