A world filled with magic and mystery, ancient celestials and new enemies, dragon royalty to elven poverty, cursed lands and forbidden ruins, Ethereal is home to the people from the dying Alecte Realm. 

In the world of Ethereal, Scott Powers lives an unsuspecting life while slightly ignorant of the outside world. In Erebus, the Upper region of the Underworld surrounded by walls, Scott and his family live their ordinary lives until, one day, Scott discovers umbra, misty shadow-like beings, have invaded Erebus underneath everyone's noses. While Scott plans to move them back to the underworld, mysterious forces drag him out of the walls and into the vast world full of magical creatures and spiritual abilities. 

Outside of the Underworld, Scott gets to meet the creatures he's read about for years, and he somehow becomes friends with a few princes and princesses. Along the journey to get back home he encounters all kinds of misfortunes, he wants to help but can he? 

And along with the impending doom he faces, he also experiences his and others' pasts through bonding with them. Broken dragon families, hurting siren royalty, and thieving orcs will be met and their pasts will unfold to create a bigger picture within a ripped paper. 

What role does Scott have in this world? And how can this teenager cope dealing with romance, betrayal and friendship?

Scott follows Draca down the corridor with Grayson hoisted onto his back. Eggy still sleeps in Draca's arms, occasionally waking up to mutter unintelligible words and then drifting back into a deep slumber. Draca and Scott make small talk in cure if their boredom. They wonder where the tunnel could lead, what the vines could be doing, and even speculating stories about the alchemist who created them. 


Along the way to their potential doom, small round buttons started to appear on the stone walls. At first Scott thought they were just the walls being bumpy but he and Draca took a closer look at them to discover that they were not just wall pimples but buttons that could be pressed. The two were afraid the buttons might lead to an even worse doom than the corridor pathway so they decided not to press any of them. 


After an hour of waking, Scott felt movement on his back and realized Grayson might be waking up. 


"Draca," Scott said, "I think Grayson's waking up."
