17: The Candytuft Flower

“What is wrong with you?” Fabio exclaimed.

I know it was wrong of me to interrupt them and disrespect the Prince in front of him. I just got lost in the moment and got frustrated. I cannot choose between the two of them. Who am I going to save? Who am I going to sacrifice?

“I’m so sorry, Fabio. I don't want you to get thrown out. We both know that the Prince isn’t someone with who we can talk. He’s royal and we’re just servants,” I explained as I held his hand. Fabio is a nice guy, and I was hoping he would understand me.

“I know, Ervin! I am fully aware of our status and differences, but the Prince told me that he does not see me as a servant. He talks to me as a normal human being, and his status is not supposed to be a hindrance for us to be friends,” he said as he pulled his hand away from mine.

“Just listen to me, please,” I pleaded.

“No! I’m not doing anything that could hurt anyone, so please let me be,” he said as he rubbed his head in frustration.
