Xander POV

I hurried out of the car to follow Athena, but she was not the one in the living room.

It's Aubrey.

“Care to explain why are you late my dear Aidan?” it's a sharp question from her.

She pronounced my second name very differently. I remember when Athena mentioned this earlier, I felt different.

“Why are you still up, Aubrey?” I asked her.

“I'm waiting for you, but I think you're enjoying the company of your son's MAID.” she added emphasizing the word Maid.

“Just rest, princess.” I said giving up. I don't want to argue with her.

She was still standing in my path. Her two arms were folded in her chest. She is already wearing her night dress that if someone else is in front of her, she will be looked at from head to toe, but I don't care what she looks like. I want to rest now.

“May I remind you my dear Aidan, you're going to marry me, soon.” she said and turned at me going upstairs to her room.
