I've been waiting for you so long each morning. Searched for your fire eyes between the people at the bus stations, but you never showed up. You just disappeared, vanished from this world. It's been four weeks and six days, tomorrow will be a month, since I've last seen your smile, since I last talked to you, since i last felt your existence beside me.
As if you were a fantastic dream. A dream that I would never forget. A dream that was the sweetest and the most mysterious.
Megan... Your name will always be engraved inside my head, my memory, my heart, my soul...
You were just a stranger, but why did it feel as if you were the most precious person in my live? Why does it feel like you own my heart now? How did I end up feeling so attached to a "stranger"? Lost in the middle of nowhere. Missing you with every inch of my soul...
When I used to hear those few words coming out from your mouth every morning: "Morning messy girl". Your smile. Your eyes. Your charm. Your everything. You were my favorite source of energy just like how .... I won't say that we were like the moon and sun, like some other normal cliché. Our chemistry was more than that, we were more than that. Yet, the sun would never meet the moon, and if does one day, it will hurt other innocent creatures...Or...Is our love just like the moon and sun? Am I the moon that would steal people's eyes if I try to reach you? ...
I wish I could roll back the clock, so I wouldn't be feeling like that... So I wouldn't be feeling as if I was shutting off second by second. My mental was down, but my life didn't change much. Same routine; morning cup of tea and a butter toast. Grouping some of my art works, heading to a magazine office or a school that is in need of an art teacher. While trying to find a job, the famous sentence hits me every time with a hurtful truth hidden between its lines: "We'll contact you later" which actually means either "you're not qualified for this job" or "you look like a weirdo, who will ever higher someone like you?!"
I almost looked into all of the places where I could find a job that is related to what I'm keen to; that is related to art. However, up till now, everything still goes in vain. So I just have to keep it up and continue working at that small fast food stall where I'm obliged to wear rollers to serve the customers. And frankly I'm a part of those 20% of the population who literally hate them, because of my clumsiness. *all right, I admit it. Maybe the statistics aren't true, but my point is: "I REALLY HATE ROLLERS". That's it!*
Honestly, I can't deny that the environment in my current work place is pretty good and the payment as well. The boss in here is a middle-aged man who likes joking around, and he's successfully funny. His name is "Arcus". He's really so tall that I barely reach his elbow; *or maybe I am just too short because almost everybody is taller than me*. He always puts a dark denim cap and light blue jacket that he would keep on cherishing; he keeps on telling people about his love story even after losing his wife in a tragic car accident. Their moments were just like in the movies, I honestly love it when he starts talking about how funny she was and how she could be naggy sometimes too. And when he talked about the story of the food stall and how it all began.
"When Celine and I were still in high school, there was a small empty abandoned shop right over here, where you're standing right now. We used to sneak out of classes a lot and run all the way to here, so she could imagine her dream of having this place. She used to tell me: "Remember Arcus! One day, we'll turn this place from ashes to the most known food shop in this whole city, customers will come from different places, and it will be you and I, forever and ever." Watching her with that smile on her face and her eyes were sparkling just like a starry night sky. She was so beautiful and I loved her so much. She used to jump from a corner to another, pretend serving fictional clients. After we graduated, thing I still don't know how we did it. We tried saving up for years and working in different places, we even wore funny bear costumes to sell posters. And it was really hot at that time, imaging wearing such a thing in the middle of summer! But we did it. Until we could finally make our dream come to reality; but she left me now, and it's alright because I know she's watching me from the sky and she'll always be inside my heart." He used to say every time.
*I've heard that story until I could recite it by heart.*
In fact, it wasn't only me working there, there's also my co-worker Noah. He's another tall person, in his early twenties just like me; who likes patting my head every time; thing that I hate but at don't mind it neither. He got such a nice haircut, with his short bangs falling on his eyes from time to time. He's not a that much of a talkative person, he prefers listening to music all day long, but Arcus would never allow that of course. However, he somehow talks to me as a friend "maybe". And of course, even the quieter person on earth would reach a stage where they couldn't hold it inside their hearts anymore. For Noah; the only way to keep him nagging and frowning all day, is when a middle aged woman named Olivia comes and starts flirting with him, thing that he hates the most, saying that she already knows he has a boyfriend so why does she still stick onto him?
One day, while Noah and I were closing the shop *as every evening*, Arcus was sitting next to the counter, looking at me, then he said:
- Something's wrong eyeglasses girl? Why that grumpy face?
*he likes calling me eyeglasses girl. And that isn't something really special or new to hear, because being that studious kid who loves drawing, and is completely messy, plus she can't even express her exact feelings since words keep running away from her. Well, you'll hear the weirdest nicknames that some of them would never come through your mind.*
- Eh! I was cleaning some glasses on the shelf, and I suddenly looked up at him.
- Something's bothering you? Arcus whispers with a worried look.
- Nah! Just random thoughts going through my mind.
- Random, huh! Well, you know you can talk about those random thoughts too.
- Thank you Arcus, but it's nothing special
- You got love issues? He let a small laugh out. Well, I wanted to ask if you have money issues, but I forgot for a moment that you're not that type of person, you're better than that.
- Oh! Come on, everyone live a hard time when they really need money. But you've honestly got a right point. I seriously can't remember the last time when I cared about whether having enough money or not.
- Told you! Anyway, so is it some girl that caught your heart and ran away?
- Something like that... I didn't feel it, until a small tear dropped on the floor.
- And you said it was nothing. Huh! Need a hug Jade? He said while opening his arms to me.
- Yeah... Thank you Arcus...
