Helping the stranger

"These are the papers the CEO needs to go through," Serena said as she gave a bunch of papers to the secretary. "Also, SC has submitted their proposal. The papers are there." The secretary nodded as she left to submit the documents.

Serena sighed, she was done for the day.  She had been working here for nearly six months. She came to Capital City as her mother instructed and she was offered a job at one of the most prominent companies in the country.

Serena packed up and carried her bag out of the office. She was very tired and since it was a Friday, she was going to rest during the weekend. On her way home, she purchased some instant noodles because she was feeling lazy to cook.

"Ugh." Serena halted as she looked in the direction of the voice. It was from an alley. Serena was in a hurry to go home and it was already dark. She was afraid.

"That hurt." She heard the voice again. She wanted to leave but the voice sounded like the person was in pain. She decided to take a look. If it was a scam, she'd flee.

Entering the dark alley, she used her phone to illuminate the dark. As she went further, the groans became louder. After a few steps, she stopped. She looked and saw a young man hugging his body, groaning.

"Are you okay?" Serena asked as she squatted. She tapped him and he groaned in pain. The young man opened his eyes and looked at her.

The woman in front of him was beautiful. Her beauty was heavenly. "I'm going to help you." The woman said to him. "Can you try to stand? I can't possibly carry you."

The young man, disregarding the pain he felt all over, stood up with her help. "My apartment is close by. I'll treat you there since we can't go to the hospital."

The man nodded. He picked up a pack on the ground and held it as he walked with her. After using the elevator, she walked in with the guy behind her. She opened the door to her room. She told the young man to lie on the couch and brought a first aid kit with an ice pack.

Soon after administering first aid, the young man fell asleep. Serena looked at his sleeping face and sighed. She didn't know what brought him to that state but she pitied him.

Serena boiled a packet of noodles with fried eggs before she went to bed, leaving the young man on the couch, sleeping.

~Morning

Kraig woke up, his body feeling sore. He tried to get up but rolled off the couch he was laying on. He looked around and saw that his environment was unfamiliar. He was in a living room with plain white walls.

It was then he remembered that he was saved by someone yesterday. The thugs had beaten him up very badly.

"Oh, you're awake." Kraig saw a beautiful woman. She had brown hair that was tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a white top and sweatpants and a pink apron.

Kraig knew that she was the one who helped him yesterday. "Thank you so much for your help. I don't know how to repay you."

"You don't need to repay me." Serena smiled.

"I don't want to be in your debt, Miss um..."

"Serena. Just Serena."

"Serena."

"Fine then. Just accompany me today. I'm going shopping." Serena said.

"Okay then." Kraig agreed.

"Join me for breakfast," Serena said and walked to the kitchen. She didn't want him to reject her. Kraig followed. He felt very hungry.

"I'm going to play golf with a friend." A young man said as he kissed his mother. He entered the car as the driver drove him out of the mansion.

The man had blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. On their way to the course, his eyes were shut. The driver thought that he was sleeping but Soleil was replenishing his energy.

The work in the company had taken a toll on his body. He needed the energy because the game he was going to play wasn't an ordinary one. He was going to make a deal. With Alexander.

He chuckled at the thought of his expression when he hears what he was about to say. As he was relaxing, he felt familiar energy. His chest ached. That feeling of longing.

He only felt it when she was nearby but not with him. It was what he went through every weekday at work. She was so close but far.

Soleil looked out the window and saw Serena in front of a mall but she was talking with a man and smiling. His body heat began rising. If the driver looked back, he would have seen his master's eyes change to a golden color.

Soleil quickly composed himself and returned to normal. He was jealous. He chuckled and closed his eyes as he relaxed in the back seat.
