Tubbo

It had been way too long since Tubbo had seen Wilbur, Tommy or y/n. He hadn't even heard from any of them, but he understood. After all, he did betray them, but it was his only choice. If only he could tell them, let them know that he wanted to be with them. Not with Schlatt, Quackity, George and Fundy.

L'Manburg was terrible under Schlatt's rule. Tubbo was forced to sit in meeting after meeting, not to mention the amount of paperwork that was piled on him. But Schlatt complimented him, and told him he needed him, so he had to stay.

He just wanted to speak to them again. He wanted them to know that he had to do it. He didn't betray them, not because he wanted to anyways.

But he had to face reality. The piles of tiresome paperwork were stacked in front his eyes. He reluctantly grabbed a pen, and got started. After all, he didn't want Schlatt to shout again. Schlatt was scary when he was angry, and Tubbo knew the power he had.

Tubbo still regretted that he hadn't ran with his friends, all he wanted to do was to be with them, by their side. He didn't even know where they were. Were they even alive?

Worst of all, he knew that he had dragged y/n into this. He had never meant for this to happen. He just wanted the only family he knew to live with him, and his friends, the people who had raised him. A wave of guilt crashed inside of his stomach

It would be all his fault, if they weren't well of safe. He felt like such a traitor. He needed to know that they were safe. If he did, then he would be happy.

Tubbo looked around his study. He hated spending his days there. His suit stuck to him uncomfortably, and he examined his workspace, various papers strewn aside. Of course there was his bee plushie (Tubbo likea da bee), and there also sat a plastic crown, a joke gift from Schlatt for 'his Tubbo'. He hadn't thought much of it at the time, but the more he looked at it, the more it revealed. It was a crown...

Well, he guessed he knew what betrayal felt like.

No, he shouldn't think like that. He wouldn't be called the same name. He was not a traitor. Somehow, he would find them. Whatever it took. He still cared.

Wanting to distract himself from the thoughts in his head, Tubbo turned the small radio on.

As it gained connection, a familiar guitar tune that Tubbo had heard many times before started to play...

——

He immediately recognised it as I'm in love with an e-girl (this is one of Wilbur's songs, if y'all somehow didn't know)

Tubbo knew this song was a joke, just Wilbur making fun of people, but it soothed him (yeah, not him screaming mom took away my PS4, but ya know), he had not heard it in so long.

Tubbo was slightly happier, as he got stuck into his paperwork, until there was a familiar, chilling rasp on the door.

——

"Oh Tubbo!" Schlatt's voice mocked.

He stood up and reluctantly opened the door, plastering a fake smile on his face, as Schlatt flounced into his study. Tubbo had gotten used to it.

"So. I have a proposition," he began, "Me and Quackity have decided to change the name of L'Manburg. We don't take Ls Tubbo, so we shall now be known as MANBURG!"

What? Was he hearing right? Schlatt had no rights to do that. He couldn't just change the name of a country! Tubbo despised him. He piled more sheets of paper on the edge of his desk, not even taking into consideration the dark circles that were forming under the small boy's eyes.

"So what do you think of it?" Schlatt interrogated.

"I-I love it," Tubbo lied convincingly.

"Good. Now this paperwork must be done by tomorrow. And please, turn that rubbish off!" Schlatt commanded, wandering over to the radio, turning it off. He left Tubbo without another word.

Without hesitation, Tubbo picked up the plastic crown, snapping it in half with his bare hands. He would not be labelled as a traitor, he would not follow the same fate for any amount of power or riches.

——

He stumbled outside of his study to breathe in some of the fresh evening air. A firefly flew up to Tubbo's head, and it seemed ti be directing him somewhere. He understood it's signals.

"Hey buddy, you-you want me to follow you?" the boy asked, slightly confused.

The small create seemed to nod it's head, and so Tubbo followed. It flew rapidly into the night. Maybe it was stupid, but he couldn't help but feel like the firefly knew something that he didn't.

The chase carried on, until it seemed to stop at a hill somewhere. At first, Tubbo just thought it was just some random hill, but the firefly lit up a sign which read:

Homebase

Make a house a home

(yes, I was tempted to make it say home home, but if you watch back the vids that's what the sign actually says)

Tubbo quietly opened the door, stepping inside the small room, if you could call it that. There was a bed, furnace, chests, even a chest with a dirt block on top of it. Tubbo thought it had been abandoned, until he heard laughing from underground, followed by a voice.

A voice he hadn't heard in a long time.

Fundy

Fundy was more alone than he had ever been before. He knew that he had really fucked up this time.

Everyone hated him. Niki's words echoed around his head. She had trusted him, but he had disproven that. He hadn't listened to her. He hadn't listened to Wilbur, his own father. He had heard his cries and ignored them. He had listened to Schlatt of all people. But it was his own fault

But something had propelled him to keep mining the walls. Something had propelled him to light the flag on fire.

What propelled him? He didn't know. But what was done, could not be reversed. He just wanted Wilbur to sing him to sleep one more time, to listen to the way he talked about Sally. He wanted to hear it all again.

It wasn't as if Fundy even liked Schlatt. In fact, he hated him. He'd hid behind the chair when he first met him, when Wilbur invited him around to dinner once. He didn't even support his ideas. He was a traitor, just the same as...

Nothing made sense to Fundy anymore, but he knew that no one would forgive him in a second.

He had nobody.

——

No wonder Niki couldn't trust him. He burnt the flag she had spent time building. She had cared about Wilbur too, even standing up for him. She had stood by through everything he had done.

Why didn't he just refuse like Niki. Why didn't he stand up for himself and his family? Why didn't he go with them?

So many questions, not an answer in sight.

He pulled out his phone. All apart from a few had blocked him.

Great.

But it was to be expected. This was what it felt like to betray, wasn't it?

Fundy had experienced it all before, but this time he was not on the receiving end.

It didn't feel good. There was no glory to revel in. It was completely the opposite to what he would have thought.

With this newfound insight, and loneliness, a thought crossed his mind.

He considered a letter, but with a small search on his phone, he found the number which he had deleted a while ago.

It may be crazy, but he had nothing to loose. Maybe, just maybe, he could enlist the help he needed.

Help from someone who understood.

He clicked on to a the new contact, and typed:

Hi,

I know we have had our differences, but I need you to hear me out. I would like to move on, forget the past. I would like your help, okay. I think you can understand me more than anyone right now. Everybody hates me, I'm alone. I promise to make things right between you and Wilbur and everyone. You don't have to be there, and I won't expect you to, but if you want to help, meet me at the tower sometime soon.

Fundy.

A/N: Thank you for reading this chapter. To clear up some things, the next chapter will take place at the same times as this one, and it and the Tubbo part will link together at the end of both. That will then continue for another chapter after the next (chpt 10) and then chapter 11 will be a continuation of the Fundy side arc.
