Another lonely week had passed, since we last checked in with Tommy and y/n. Although, it had felt way longer.

Every single day was the same. Mining, going to the nether, building things just to destroy them again. Dream would always come along to demand for Tommy and y/n's items, just to blow them up.

But they thought today would be different, hopefully.

Yesterday the two had been visited by Phil and Fundy, accompanied by Ghostbur and Dream, of course. The six of them had decided to set up a beach party, and Ghostbur was tasked with handing around the invitations, which he said he would ensure he did.

Ghostbur had also given Tommy and Tubbo compasses over the week. Tommy's had the words Your Tubbo engraved on the back of it, and Ghostbur had told them that Tubbo's had Your Tommy engraved. The idea of the compasses was that they each pointed to the other. Tommy loved his compass, he'd wore it around his neck and hadn't taken it off since he got it.

The thing about Tommy, is that no matter what Tubbo did to him, he would never hate him, he'd always forgive him in a heartbeat.

Sure, y/n could never hate Tubbo either, but it took her longer to forgive. She had called Tubbo a monster, but it was a spur of the moment. She was a mess of emotions, to say the least.

But today they were supposed to be seeing him again.

The invitation list was pretty long, they'd obviously invited Ghostbur, Dream, Phil and Fundy, as they were there when this was planned. Additionally, Niki, Tubbo, Sapnap, Ranboo, Quackity, Jack, Karl, Puffy, Badboyhalo and Connor had been added to the invitation list.

They'd debated inviting Techno and George, deciding against it eventually.

y/n knew not all of the invitees would turn up, but could only hope at least some of them would.

It was time for a beach party.

——

The day started as normal, the usual sitting around the fire, eating an apple to start the day. This was followed by some mining, mostly for cobblestone to help develop the path in the nether.

Dream arrived a little bit earlier than normal. The party wasn't until 8pm, and so y/n bet it was to have time to blow up whatever items Tommy had. She hadn't even bothered with tools anymore.

"Hi," Tommy greeted in a bored expression, dropping his stuff into the hole Dream was digging. It was routine now.

"Where's everyone else?" y/n asked, just double checking if Dream knew about anyone's plans.

"Don't know," he shrugged, "They'll probably be here soon."

The trio sat down for five minutes, while they waited for guests to start arriving, which turned into fifteen minutes, and eventually two hours.

Still not a person in sight, not even Ghostbur.

——

"They're not coming, are they?" Tommy said, his heart seeming to break more with ever word.

"No," Dream admitted bluntly.

"So they don't care?" Tommy replied emotionally.

"Tommy, of course they care!" y/n exclaimed, embracing the boy, "I think- I think the invitations might've got lost, you know what Ghostbur is like."

(A/N: I shall say this once only, it is normal to hug friends, especially if they think no one cares about them, THIS IS NOT ROMANTIC OK!!)

"But- but what if it's just because no one cares."

"Tommy they do care!" y/n convinced, in an almost angry tone, "Something has to have gone wrong. They do care! Right Dream, they care?"

Dream said nothing at all, and his expression was unreadable, due to the mask that sat on his face.

——

"Surely someone will turn up?"

It was half an hour later, and Tommy was still questioning and hoping that they would turn up.

"Tommy, I don't think they will, just leave it now."

"Okay, but how about we have an us party, a party for three?" Dream suggested somewhat kindly.

"Fine..." Tommy sighed. He'd been looking forwards to seeing everyone again, but he guessed it would be fine, nothing could be any worse.

y/n was still struggling with it also. The invitations must have not gotten out. Ranboo would definitely be here, even if no one else was. He'd been writing letters to them every day, and only some of them arrived, but it was a nice act. He was asking how they were, and keeping in check with them.

He'd be here, wouldn't he?

The three ate the cake in silence, and Dream attempted to make them sing a couple of songs, which didn't work at all.

Tommy seemed more down than ever, y/n more tired. They'd been like that since the incident the other week, it had been depressing.

——

"We could go and check if anyone got lost in the nether?" y/n suggested. She was trying to stay cheerful, for Tommy's sake, but it was draining the very little energy she had.

"Alright."

They entered the purple abyss of the portal, and explored around the area, but still, there was not a person in sight.

"Tommy, I know now wouldn't be the best time to break it to you, but Tubbo... Tubbo blew up his compass today," Dream blurted suddenly.

"What?" Tommy's voice broke, as he stared down at the ground, but no tears fell from his face.

"But it had to be an accident, right?" y/n added, shocked that he could do such a thing.

Had Tubbo really changed that much?

"I don't know, but I don't think it was an accident," Dream confirmed, emotionless.

Without thinking, Tommy stared into the bubbling, orange lava again.

"No Tommy! It must have been an accident, they do care! Please Tommy. Please," y/n's voice went quieter with each word.

"The invitations... and now this. Yeah, I don't think so," he stared harder, inching closer to the edge of the cliff. He seemed to be, laughing?

"Tommy, please! Remember what we said, just stay with us," y/n whispered into his ear, snapping him out of it.

"I'm sorry," he muttered, standing up, as Dream lead the two of them back through the portal.

The night was the same as every other. Dream left Tommy and y/n, heading back to his SMP. Tommy and y/n then spoke for a while, sitting around the fire.

Tommy then went back to his tent, and y/n felt the diary in her pocket. It seemed to call to her, and so she found more words to write.

Page 9 (there has been a time skip of around a week, so pages have been skipped, which have presumably already been written)

Dear diary,

It's getting worse. Oh so much worse. I'm so tired, I want to go home, for everything to be fixed. I want to sleep without nightmares haunting me.

I'm also truly scared for Tommy. I can see the sadness on his face, hear it in his voice. He's broken. But today broke him even more. No one turned up, not even Ghostbur, not even Ranboo, only Dream. He's our only friend, I guess. I wouldn't even call him that, but I guess he's there for us, so I hate him a little less than before.

Something must to have gone wrong, an accident, with the invitations, and the compass. I know Tubbo's changed, but he wouldn't do that, surely?

Help me, I feel like I'm going to break too, it's so hard to be strong, when the world is against you.

Goodnight,

y/n x
