CHAPTER 16

"Why didn't he tell me any of these?" Jasmine asked as we approached Diana's house. She held her Gucci handbag firmly, glaring suspiciously at the men sitting in front of the next house. Tossing her bag to me, she climbed and placed her hands on the window.

"Just get in and open the door! We will talk once we are done."

"What does it look like I'm doing? I can't fit in."

"I told you not to do it. You're pregnant and you still act like a small child."

"Now hold on," she sat on the window and glared at me. "When did you tell me not to do it?"

Is memory loss a symptom of pregnancy? "You've lost it. I'm not debating with you over this. Just get in. Be careful!" I yelled.

"I already know that." She jumped into the house. I could hear a small shatter of glass and a cry of pain coming from the house. Rushing to the door, I banged hard on it. There was no response.
