Chapter 13

After about two hours of driving, they finally arrived at Crystalline Mountain. The mountain was always cold and snowy. The main reason Roselia would get cold was due to the snowy weather blowing chilly winds.

"Uh oh," said Betty.

"What is it?" asked Anna.

"A big blizzard is supposed to be coming in about an hour, and it's a thirty minute drive up the mountain," said Betty. Esmia sighed. As they began to drive up, the earth began to rumble.

"Um, what going on?" asked Esmia. She looked out the window. Anna shrieks as an avalanche blows a bunch of snow onto them. Luckily, they were just fine, however their vehicle was stuck. Betty kept cursing under her breath.

"What should we do?" asked Anna.

"Walk. We must walk," said Esmia.

"Esmia, a blizzard will be coming in an hour! It's a thirty minue drive, but with us walking, it'll take an hour! We can't just leave my car," exclaimed Betty.

"Well, we better start walking," and like that, Esmia was off. Anna grabbed their bags and headed after her. Betty groaned in annoyance.

"I'm gonna just stay here!" She shouted to them. Betty sighed.

"When will they learn?" She said out loud. Suddenly, something grabbed her and covered her mouth, preventing her from screaming.

"Shhh, this drink will make you sleep," whispered Lasserin. He poured a fluid down her throat, and she was then knocked out. Raven walks up to Lasserin.

"Ok, now that we got her, let's head to our base" said Raven.

Anna and Esmia were almost near the town. Esmia's face was cold. They remained silent. Anna breaks the silence.

"Why don't you seem happy about being here?" Anna finally asked.

"I wasn't liked here," Esmia said.

"But why?" asked Anna.

"I killed people, that's why," Esmia said coldly. The wind was cold and the snow was beginning to fall.

"Kill...kill people.....?!" Anna stuttered.

"Yes, Anna, I killed people! That's what assassins do!" Esmia snapped. "Oh wait, you weren't taught were you? You don't even know the meaning of assassin!"

"Why are you acting like this?!" yelled Anna.

"Because, all you care about is being the next greatest assassin!" Esmia yelled back.

"You read my secret diary, didn't you?!" exclaimed Anna.

"What are you, five? You don't take this seriously! You just want those four daggers, yet you don't even understand them!" yelled Esmia. Anna felt broken.

"You hate me, don't you! You've never liked me from the start!" cried Anna. She throws Esmia's bag into a snowbank.

"Screw you! I'M GOING ON MY OWN!" cried Anna. Anna ran off crying.
