Chapter 5: The Legendary Bride

"Assistant Xu, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't have been misunderstood." Ji Huaiyu lifted his leg and kicked the man kneeling on the ground.

Assistant Xu fell to the floor, clutching his head and yelled, "Young Master Ji, spare my life, please."

"No one wants your life," Ji Huaiyu snorted coldly, raising his hand to signal a subordinate to come over, "Go check which private room that girl just now was from."

His Seventh Brother was in a critical period now, and the sudden intrusion of this girl naturally warranted vigilance for any abnormalities.

Ji Huaiyu threw the dining knife he held onto the table, then turned to Assistant Xu and said, "We have treated you well, yet you betray the company's data again and again, and now you even want to leak the news that my Seventh Brother isn't dead?"

"I didn't!" Assistant Xu shook his head desperately, hastily explaining to Seventh Brother, "Seventh Brother, I really didn't leak your information..."

Seventh Brother Huo Tingzhou was infamous, with brutal methods.

If he had known Huo Tingzhou was still alive, he wouldn't dare cross him even if he were beaten to death.

Ji Huaiyu cut off Assistant Xu's words, "It's not that you didn't leak it, but that we stopped you in time from leaking it."

He looked towards the ever-silent Huo Tingzhou and asked, "Seventh Brother, what do you think we should do?"

Long fingers gently tapped twice on the table, Huo Tingzhou replied emotionlessly, "Follow the company protocol, hand it over to the legal department."

"Okay," Ji Huaiyu nodded and immediately had people take Assistant Xu away.

He sat down beside Huo Tingzhou and asked, "Seventh Brother, when do you plan to return home?"

Huo Tingzhou slightly turned his gaze and glanced at him, "Do we still need some time?"

Seeing him so calm and composed, as if orchestrating a grand scheme, Ji Huaiyu couldn't help feeling anxious, "Seventh Brother, do you realize that Grandmother has found you a wife, and what's more, has already signed a marriage agreement? You're not single now; you're a married man."

Huo Tingzhou responded indifferently, "Oh."

Ji Huaiyu frowned, looking distressed, "How can you not be worried at all? That woman is far from being noble or wealthy; at most, she's the daughter of a nouveau riche. Knowing full well you were dead, she still agreed to marry you. You can tell she's up to no good. What kind of normal woman would willingly marry a dead man? She's doing this either for money or for money. Speaking of which, how could Grandmother only care if their birth signs matched? Right... I have this woman's photo in my email; I'll open it now to see what she looks like..."

While speaking, Ji Huaiyu took out his phone.

He muttered as he searched for the photo, "I had people inquire about her before. They said she's ugly, has a vulgar personality, is lazy and flirty, dissatisfied with her lot, and can't keep her legs closed around handsome men. Her family isn't too shabby, but not exceptional either. Only a woman who couldn't marry well would agree to become a widow before even getting married, which just shows how sly and venomous she must be, hideous in character..."

His voice suddenly halted.

Ji Huaiyu choked sharply, "..."

In the photo, the girl had a slender figure and exquisite features, so beautiful even at a young age, it was almost too perfect to be true.

At once, the startled little face he had seen flashed through his mind.

Wasn't this the girl who had mistakenly walked into the private room just now?

This was absolutely impossible!!

Ji Huaiyu was shocked, his gaze shifting to Huo Tingzhou.

Someone's pitch-black eyes were as deep and unfathomable as the sea, even with a hint of amusement.
