Talented Me! 21

"So what do I do? Do I kick some bad guy butt?" Daisy chopped the air with her hands ready and prepared to defeat some bad guys. Karate chops for everyone!

Avina laughed before holding Daisy's hands. The comfort in having someone ready to fight for you was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, she already did all the butt-kicking.

"No, I kicked their butts already. But I'm still worried about what they'll do to me next…"

The situation at the time forced her hands to wack some heads, but that also meant that she was risking her mission.

There wasn't a lot a little girl with no influence like her could do. She has no connections except for Sandra, and she was unsure if Sandra was able to help her either. Graham would have the highest chance to aid her, but Avina hasn't had the chance to meet him.

"May I ask, who's this person you've 'kicked butt'?" an elderly voice rang out interrupting her thoughts.

Avina turned her head and realized there was another person with them. The moment her eyes hit him, she knew who he was. Spending the time looking at his pictures, it was hard to forget the face of the man who is her mission target - Graham Lin.

"That's right! I met this old man when I was running in!" Daisy let go of Wilona's hands and moved towards Graham's side. She patted his shoulders and started the introduction.

"I couldn't get in without proper ID and all, but once he heard what happened, he helped me and was even heading here to help you! His name is Graham Lin!"

Wilona bowed down and thanked him gratefully. Without his help, there would be no way Daisy could have come this far. Even if she managed to escape, who knew if she could if she didn't learn martial arts. In the end, Graham was her benefactor.

"Thank you, Mr. Lin!" Wilona said and then lifted her hand. "I'm Wilona."

"Yes, I know who you are. You're the girl participating in Who I Am," Graham said and shook her hands.

Wilona looked up with eyes rounded in shock. She didn't know how he knew, but looking into his gentle eyes, she relaxed. Graham still helped her nonetheless, and she wasn't a thankless, ungrateful person.

"Don't be nervous girly. I'm just one of the investors," Graham smiled warmly at the young girl. She reminded him dearly of his granddaughter, and he felt a soft spot forming for her.

"But back to the topic, who was it that you needed help getting away from?"

At his sentence, Wilona's face paled considerably. She didn't know why Mr. Tet was so intent on scouting her nor if this would happen more than once. It terrified her to know that maybe she had to fight those bodyguards again in the future.

Her voice shook and she shivered from the mere imagination of the scene. Men of steel and muscle walking towards her in a single row with eyes of blankness and severance. Each attack is fierce and concise with no movements wasted. Blows being exchanged like wind creating sounds like firecrackers. She didn't want to do that ever again.

"That," Wilona started but her voice shook with fear. "He- he said his name was Mr. Tet, and he came to scout me. But, he was forcing me to accept and I- I just ran."

"Mr. Tet?" Graham said. Wilona nodded, and he started to deeply think of what a guy like him was doing here.

It wasn't like Graham didn't know who Mr. Tet was. There wasn't anyone he didn't know in the industry. It was a field where connections were powerful and could easily destroy another's life. So he always made himself keep tabs on the newest force in the industry making sure to keep allies close and enemies closer.

Mr. Tet was not weak, but he wasn't as powerful as Graham either. He was like another man lording himself to actresses and women. Under the guise of scouting, he would force women to interact with him. Then, who knows; Graham found no pleasure in digging deeper.

This act wasn't unusual to see, but to see him use it and force it on Wilona was indeed strange. Not to sound rude, but Wilona wasn't his type. Mr. Tet preferred those well endowed and mature. Wilona was the opposite.

"Why do you think he would go out of his way to scout you?" Graham was curious about the reason why, and he wanted to help Wilona. Maybe not to great lengths but just enough for her to continue the show.

Wilona thought long and hard about the reason but could see not a single one. She did not know who Mr. Tet was before today much less his intentions. It was a mystery that she wanted to solve. Another day fearing her life was another day she was stepping back from her dreams.

"I don't know."

"Then, do you have any ideas of anyone who might hate you and is powerful?"

It was common to see rising potential being pushed down just because someone higher in the ladder whispered a few words. Although Graham did not know how Wilona could annoy someone with her timid nature, he couldn't scratch the idea off.

Wilona thought to herself again unsure of who it could be. Someone who hates her… Someone who was powerful… Who could it be? Wait, there's one person who fits the bill perfectly!

"There is one!" Wilona exclaimed. "But, I didn't think she would stoop this low…"

Wilona wasn't the only one thinking through the whole situation. Daisy was also trying to think of who could have done this to her friend. At the word 'hate', Daisy immediately guessed who it was.

"Adi! It's Adi isn't it!" Daisy turned her head towards Wilona sure of the answer. Out of everyone in the world, only Adi was capable of something so despicable. She had the means and the motive- it was definitely her!

"I knew it! I just knew it! It's Adi, right Wilona? I'm going to go show her a piece of my mind!"

Daisy couldn't stop the fury building up inside her and was heading straight for the elevator. She didn't know where she was but no way was it going to stop her! She still needed to kick some butt1

"Now wait, child. Who's this Adi?" Graham asked. Looking at Daisy's face, he knew that Adi was the likeliest answer.

Daisy whipped her body around and directed her rampage of emotions towards demeaning Adi's name. Of course, all her words were true, just a little hateful.

"She's this spoiled brat that orders people around. Wilona used to be her friend, but then she started to bully Wilona. Well, I think she was always mean to Wilona but what she did then was inexcusable! And she's still bullying Wilona! Anyways! She's the only person who I can think of who could do something so mean and have enough money to do so!"

After spitting out as much as she could, Daisy finally felt calm. Just a little bit, but it managed to stop her from charging through the doors and searching for Adi. She was still angry, but at least she could rationally think. Taking a deep breath, Daisy took reign of her emotions.

"Hmmm. What do you say, Wilona? Is it Adi?" Graham looked over to Wilona. Her eyes confirmed it all, but only with her verbal confirmation would he be certain.

"Yes," Wilona sighed in defeat.

There was no hiding the fact now. Adi did bully her and she did hate her. She had enough money and power to do anything to her and there was nothing Wilona could do against her. The likeliest person is Adi and only her.

"Then let this old man help you," Graham said and smiled at Wilona.

Avina couldn't believe what she was hearing. Seeing Graham was already a huge shock, and she planned to leave a good impression on him but never did she expect that he would help her. It was shocking but it was a good shock.

"Really? You're willing to do that?" Avina asked in excitement. "But how?"

Avina knew he had power and all that, but how was he going to help her? Adi probably hid her traces well and there was always a limit to power. She couldn't think of how Graham would help her.

"That, you don't have to worry about. You just do the show and attend school as always." Graham reached into his pocket and pulled out his personal contact card.

"This is my number. Keep it with you and contact me if anything comes up. If Adi bullies you in school, tell me immediately, okay?" Graham stressed that point immensely making sure Wilona understood clearly.

"Okay, I will definitely tell you," Avina grasped the thin card in her hands. Although unexpected, this was definitely a struck of good fortune! The personal contact of the mission target in return for fighting bad guys, a steal!

Making sure Wilona understood once more, Graham finally bid goodbye to the girls. He told them not to worry about the guys in the room, and to go home and rest. Like a wise elder he is, Graham left the girl with a secret plan and instructions.

"Then, Daisy, let's-" Avina was ready to get out of this place full of doors left unopened. Who knew if she had to deal with another group of attacking bodyguards!

The sound of a phone ringing interrupted her sentence. The soft melody unfolded in the quiet hallway, and Avina reached into her pocket to pull out the phone.

"Brother?"
