Strict Diet Menu

Since her daughter said so, Park Mun-Hee didn't say anymore.

Kim Hyejin has indeed been training for a while now, but she still hasn't tried on her skating shoes yet.

Well, skating shoes haven't arrived yet, but that's not the main point. The main point is that there are some basic skills Kim Hyejin needs to learn.

Figure skaters need to be able to glide, spin, turn, jump, hop, skip, and stop.

They also need to develop agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, and the speed that comes from the explosive "quickness" of muscles.

Understanding rhythm – being able to skate to a beat – is also important for figure skaters.

To develop these skills, Park Hayoon has been teaching Kim Hyejin some AFL activities she could do to develop the skills required for figure skating.

Hopscotch, Jump rope, Mirror mirror, Skip to my Lou, Tag, Tightrope, and Twist, and shout were some of the activities Park Hayoon and Kim Hyejin did at home, and at the park.

(NOTE: You can check out the above activities on the internet to get a better understanding of them).

These activities were more like any other games children can play, so Kim Hyejin had a fun time enjoying the activities.

She had fun while at the same time, learned the skills she was aiming for and achieved her goals.

"Mama, when I will get to wear those shoes?." Kim Hyejin asked as she pointed at the picture of a skating shoe she saw in the magazine.

"The skating shoes?." Park Hayoon asked as she glanced at the magazine, and Kim Hyejin nodded in response.

"You will get to wear them soon. When I've seen good improvements, I will let you wear them, and even test them on the rink." Park Hayoon replied.

"Okay, Mama." Kim Hyejin replied as she continued flipping through the pages of the magazine.

After having this discussion with her mother, she became motivated.

In other to wear skate shoes faster, she practiced more, thereby showing incredible improvements.

From practicing one hour a day to gain the skills required by a young figure skater, she increased the time Intervals to 2 - 3 hours a day.

Considering her age, Park Hayoon didn't want to push her daughter too much, but the little girl was putting in a lot of effort just to try on the skating shoes her uncle bought for her.

These days, if Kim Hyejin wasn't practicing the AFL activities, she would be practicing ballet.

One evening, her mother called her attention to a matter. She introduced Yoga to her because she found out that she needed that class to balance the ballet.

That evening, Park Hayoon introduced Yoga to her, but they didn't get right to business.

Park Hayoon said to her daughter, "I want you to know that you will start learning Yoga, and I want you to accept that fact."

"Why do I have to accept? It doesn't matter since I have to do it." Kim Hyejin asked with a confused expression on her face.

"Yoga is more than exercise. You have to accept it, or it will not work for you. It's just like the way you want to be a figure skater. If you don't accept that fact and work hard towards it, you will not make it." Park Hayoon explained.

"Okay Mama, Why don't we start right away, I have already accepted to learn Yoga, from my heart." Kim Hyejin said with a smile on her face as she placed a hand on her chest to show her sincerity.

"Aigoo! My cute baby. We will start the training in two days. But for today, I will teach and help you understand the importance of Yoga, why you need to do it. Tomorrow, I will teach you how to meditate before every Yoga practice. Then in two days, the Yoga classes will kick off!." Park Hayoon announced with excitement in her voice, in other to cheer the little one up.

"Yeah!!!." Kim Hyejin screamed in excitement as she wrapped her short chubby hands around her mother's neck.

Park Hayoon cuddled her as she said to herself. 'Jin'er, mama promises to do everything she can to help you reach the peak of your career, but don't disappoint mama.'

A lot of things changed for Kim Hyejin since the day she decided to be a figure skater.

She became of the youngest and busiest kids in the world.

If she was training with AFL activities, she was either learning Yoga or ballet. When she watched Tv, she only watched figure skating past matches, and then one cartoon each day, provided that learns at least one moral lesson from it.

Her mother changed her diet as well. She now had a personal diet for a young skater. And the rate at which she ate snacks, was cut down.

The rule her mother made towards the change of diet says, 'No more eating of unhealthy diet'. and that included non freshly squeezed juice, snacks, and another thing that had high-calorie content.

This new rule on her diet was not quite taken lightly by the little girl.

Each time she requested chocolates or sweets, she will get a negative response.

For example today, after concluding at the park, Kim Hyejin said to her mother on their way home.

"Pretty lady, I want Ice-cream."

"No, you can't take Ice-Cream." Park Hayoon replied. And when Kim Hyejin asked for the reason, this was her reply.

"Ice-cream is too cold for your body, and you are too young. You shouldn't take too much of cold things at this age, it's bad for your health."

Kim Hyejin didn't say anything to her. But when the same thing repeated itself a few times, the little girl couldn't hang on any longer. She started to cry.

Park Hayoon still insisted on not giving in to her demands after she failed to get her to stop crying.

Just like that, they arrived home.

Park Mun-Hee was alarmed when she saw her granddaughter come back home in tears.

She immediately lifted her as she asked, "Jin'er, why are you crying?."
