Going extra miles to get what you want

"Grandpa wouldn't be unhappy?." Kim Hyejin asked, seeking more clarification.

"Yes, Grandpa wouldn't be unhappy." Park Hayoon assured her, and only then did Kim Hyejin put away the worried look on her face, and shopped happily with her.

When they got home, Kim Hyejin refused to part with the teddy bear, she insisted on holding unto it. No matter what her mother told her, she refused to listen.

Park Hayoon gave up on her and left to continue with her school work, leaving the little girl to play with her teddy bear.

In the letter that evening, Park Hayoon sat down with her daughter in the living room as they watched the Tv together.

Her Brother, Park Ji Hu went out to meet with his friends. Her mother went out to meet her friends as well. As for her father, he went to the toy factor.

Then she being the youngest child of her parents, was home alone with her daughter. She was not like the rest of her siblings, she had a huge responsibility on her shoulders, and she needed to be able to carry it herself before asking others for support.

Kim Hyejin was watching the Tv with much interest, she was picking up on ice skating with considerable speed.

Park Hayoon glanced at her daughter, as the scene in the mall replayed in her head, so she called out to her daughter.

Kim Hyejin didn't want to be distracted at this point the female figure skater on the Tv was about to make a jump, but she knew she had to answer her mother, so she turned to look at her mother without much satisfaction.

"Jenny, do you remember everything that happened at the mall today?." Park Hayoon asked her after she got her attention.

Kim Hyejin nodded in response. Then she was distracted by the cheers coming from the audience on the Tv, so she turned to have a look at what was going on.

Seeing she was distracted, Park Hayoon picked up the remote and turned down the volume of the Tv. What she wanted to say was very important, so she can't have her attention divided.

"Jenny, mother wants to say something important to you, so I need you to pay attention to." Park Hayoon said to her daughter in a soft tone as she placed her hands on her small shoulders while staring into her eyes.

"Okay." Kim Hyejin replied in a soft tone as well as she stared at her mother, wondering why she had that serious look on her face.

"Good! Jenny, I need you to something very important." Park Hayoon started as she had a serious facial expression. "Don't allow anybody to take what you want, because what you want can be yours, only if you take it before others do. Do you understand?." She asked as she looked into the eyes of her innocent child.

Although Kim Hyejin didn't fully understand what her mother was saying because of her young mind, she at least got the point her mother was trying to say to her.

In another sense, what she was trying to say is this, 'If you desire something, make it yours immediately, because so many other people have their eyes on it as well'

The reason Park Hayoon is telling her daughter this is for her to learn to stand up for herself, and defend what is yours. She wants her to be brave enough to confront any situation that may put her in such a situation as what happened at the shopping mall today.

Even though She knew her daughter wouldn't understand her words that well because of her age, she went ahead to tell her. As far as there was one percent (1%) chance that she would understand a little of what she was saying, she would tell her she wanted her to know.

Having succeeded in passaging the message she wanted to, Park Hayoon increased the volume of the Tv and allowed her daughter to continue watching the sports channel.

As this new week was running out, Park Ji Hu received a proposition from the rink managers, expressing their desire for him to be one of the coaches in their rink, requesting him to be a part of them.

Park Ji Hu left them with the reply that he would consider their proposal. That weekend, he followed his father to the toy factory to take a look.

His father introduced him to his workers as his son, he showed him around the offices and the factory where the toys were being produced.

The manager of the toy factory tagged along, as he explained the different sections in the company. He was really helpful, so Park Ha Jun didn't mind at all.

After showing his son around, Park Ha Jun took his son to his office. They sat on the office chairs, as coffee was served to them.

"When will you start work?." Park Ha Jun asked as he drank a mouthful of coffee while taking a glance at him.

Park Ji Hu smiled as he picked up the cup of coffee on the table. He took a sip from it and then smiled as the aftertaste of the coffee gave him a great deal of satisfaction.

"Dad, where did you get these coffee beans, it's perfect." Park Ji Hu said, as he deliberately changed the topic, even though he meant what he said.

Park Ha Jun just glanced at his son, then he sighed before answering, "My good friend brought it from Ethiopia, because of his love for coffee, he had someone bring him two bags of coffee beans, and then he gave me some of it."

"What did your friend go to Africa to look for, and discovered the coffee there?." Park Ji Hu questioned curiously, for he believed that Africa was rather far to go in search of coffee beans.

"Ethiopia is in the top place of the top-ranked countries with the best coffee beans in the world. So you see his reason now." Park Ha Jun explained.

"Just for coffee?." Park JI Hu asked with an unbelievable facial expression.

"When you had a taste of the coffee, I'm sure you noticed it's a unique taste. My friend loves coffee, and because of his high taste, he went in search of the best, and he found what he was looking for. There is satisfaction and relaxation of your mind when you get exactly what you are looking for."

Park Ha Jun said the last sentence in a bid to get him to know that it was worth it to go the extra miles in search of satisfaction, something that would bring him comfort.
