Quit figure skating

"Grandma, Hyejin wants to stay at home. Today at school, Hyejin missed you. I don't want to go to school, I don't know anyone there." Kim Hyejin revealed her fear.

"Child? You may not know anyone now, but you will soon make friends. It's good to have friends you know." Park Mun-Hee said to her in a loving tone.

"I don't want to make friends." Kim hyejin said adamantly.

Park Mun-Hee sighed. It was really difficult trying to communicate with this granddaughter of hers.

"Hyejin-ah grandma has heard you. You have to tell your mother that. For now, come and eat a delicious lunch grandma specially prepared for you."

Park Mun-Hee passed the responsibilities to her daughter, she didn't have the time to argue with her granddaughter who wasn't willing to listen.

And as she didn't want to raise her voice, she had to pass on the role to her daughter.

Kim Hyejin had a sumptuous meal. She ate to her fill before going to sleep.

She slept for a long time of three hours, and by the time she woke up, her mother was home already.

During the AFL activities in the evening, she mentioned her decision to her mother.

"What?! You don't want to go to school? Why?." Park Hayoon asked in surprise.

"I don't want to be alone. I want to stay at home with grandma." Kim Hyejin declared.

"Who said you will be alone? Your teacher and classmates are there, what are you scared of?." Park Hayoon asked.

"Mama, I don't care. I don't want to go to school!." Kim Hyejin said with a stubborn expression on her face.

"Do you like figure skating and want to continue with it?."

Park Hayoon asked her, and she nodded in response.

"Fine! Very good! Since you want to quit school, why don't you quit figure skating as well? Because I don't see the reason for you to continue." Park Hayoon said in a serious tone.

"No. I don't want to quit figure skating, I don't like school!." Kim Hyejin replied.

"You are not serious. Each day you don't go to school, you will not practice the AFL activities or ice skating. So you better understand that fact." Park Hayoon revealed as she turned her back to walk away.

Kim Hyejin quickly followed her with her short legs.

"Mama, but I don't want to go to school, I only like figure skating."

"You have two options, as it's your choice to pick anyone you like. Option A, go to school and continue with your figure skating practice. Option B, Don't go to school and quit figure skating. Choose one." Park Hayoon said to her.

"Option C quit school and do figure skating." Kim Hyejin said with a frown on her face.

"Seriously? You're now talking back at mama? You've grown wings now, and I have a job to clip them for you." Park Hayoon said as she entered inside the building.

They were exercising in the compound of their house earlier.

Both mother and daughter came inside the house with a frown on their faces.

That facial expression says a lot, like do not talk to me.

"Why are they angry? It looks like the exercise ended on a bad note." Park Ji Hu whispered to his mother.

"Sshhh..." Park Mun-Hee shushed him with a finger to her lips.

"Come and help me serve the dishes." She said to him as she went back into the kitchen.

Park Ji Hu followed after her.

That night, no one said a word as they are their dinner. It was kind of weird since the lively Kim Hyejin refused to be cute.

The next morning, Kim Hyejin refused to go to school. Park Hayoon refused to waste her breath on her, she abandoned her and went to her college.

In the evening, she refused to practice AFL activities with her.

So few days passed without Kim Hyejin going to school and doing her figure skating practice.

She watched Tv all day, but she was getting frustrated. She kept watching figure skating on Tv, but she couldn't practice the sport she loved.

That was disheartening!

"Why don't you allow her to continue practicing the sport, and slowly adapt to the new school surroundings?." Park Mun-Hee suggested to Park Hayoon.

"Mum thank you for your suggestions, but I can't work with it. Hyejin needs to learn the hard way because she is stubborn. This method is the best. If she likes figure skating so much, she will do anything to continue with the training. This is the best test for her." Park Hayoon said.

"You are right..." Park Mun-Hee agreed with her.

Two days later, Kim Hyejin came crying to her mother.

"Jenny, why are you crying?." Park Hayoon asked as she abandoned her books and got up from the bed.

Kim Hyejin kept fiddling with her fingers as she continued crying.

Park Hayoon came and lifted her in their arms as she patted her back.

Kim Hyejin hugged her mother's neck, laid her head on her shoulder as she continued crying.

"Baby, why are you crying? Tell mama, okay?." Park Hayoon consoled her while trying to get her to talk.

Kim Hyejin didn't say a word. She just continued crying, so Park Hayoon let her be.

"Mama, I want to continue my practice." Kim Hyejin said after a while of crying.

"Is it the reason you are crying?." Park Hayoon asked.

"Mmmm." Kim Hyejin replied.

"Are you ready to go back to school?." Park Hayoon asked.

"Mmmm." Kim Hyejin replied positively.

"You are set." Park Hayoon said as a smile appeared on her face.

Not sure what that means, Kim Hyejin continued laying on her chest.

"This weekend, you will start practicing again." Park Hayoon assured her.

"Thank you, mama!." Kim Hyejin said with a heart filled with gratitude.

At last, she slept in her mother's arms.

Park Hayoon gently laid on her bed with her heart filled with a mother's love.

After making sure she has slept properly, Park Hayoon left the room.
