The Spider Queen

I snapped awake, in the infirmary as usual. No one was in my room this time, I looked around and saw my arms were riddled with IV's and tubes.

"I must have exerted too much force and power!" I said to myself. I couldn't move my body, I had to get up though. I slowly pulled out the tubes, I flinched at each one that I removed. I slowly got dressed in my new found outfit, I slowly walked out of the room, hugging the wall. I began wandering the halls looking for someone who can help me. But I couldn't find anyone, so I eventually got fed up and walked outside. I was shocked when I saw everyone running around in a frantic state, I knew what they were preparing for. They were reading for an attack, I saw Borus in the distance. I walked into my cabin, looking for my blades.

"You know who this is don't you?" A shy voice said from behind me. I slowly turned around, it was Emma. They was a look of pure fear in her eyes,

"Its HER!" She whispered fearfully.

"The spider Queen." I said, rage burning in my voice. Then the empusai's curse ran through my head,

"die from the poison of losing the one you love." They must have known she was coming here. I could feel the pain fade as my adrenaline began to race, I put my hand on Emma's shoulder and spoke calmly.

"Im here, there is nothing to fear now." I said. I grabbed my blades and walked outside.

"Where are they coming from?" I asked.

"Straight ahead." Emma said calmly, holding back tears.

"Don't lose hope, Just remember, When grief tries to steal the memories of us, Love. Never. Dies." I said confidently.

"Come back to me, even as a shadow, just come back to me!" She screamed as I walked away, my black cloak flowing in the wind. I looked ahead, one single tear flowing down my cheek.

"Argos." I said, he was there in a flash.

"Lets go old friend." I said. I slowly walked out onto the battlefield, In the distance I spotted a massive army of spiders of all sizes. In the back I saw four massive spiders, carrying a person on a platform in the middle of them. My rag bubbled over, I couldn't contain it anymore.

"Arcane!!" I screamed. All of a sudden the army of spiders morphed into humanoid figures, and they spoke in unison.

"Do not speak to mother Arcane in such a manner, pitiful human,"

"Creepy" I thought to myself. I summoned my mark, readying for battle. I could feel their murderous intent. They wanted to kill us all, and eat us. They were very hungry too. I began barking commands,

"Set up a defence, and ready the fire arrows. Ready the fireballs Hope!"

"Sir yes sir!" The barked back. They raced off and I raced off to face the spider people,

"Those who disrespect Mother Arcane will die!!" They screamed in unison as they advanced. I slowly ran then I began to run,

"AHHHHHHH!!" I screamed as I raised my blades. I finally got a good look at my opponents, they were massive humanoid spiders. They had a spider's face and a human body, they were armed with two long swords. I lit my blades aflame, I ripped through the spiders like a hot knife through butter. But as I kept slashing the size and toughness of the spider-people got bigger. Soon they were towering over me and I couldn't even cut them, my blades just bounced off them.

"FIRE!!" I screamed. The fire arrows mowed down the army in the hundreds. The spider people attacked, I soured into the sky with my wings. I saw Arcane in the back laughing, that made my rage overflow even more.

"You bitch!" I screamed. I flew at her, going straight for the kill. Before I knew it my blades were stuck in something, once the smoke cleared I saw what had them stuck. Arcane has spider legs blocking my blades, they had sprouted instantly from her back. I froze in shock for a second, then did I get a good look at her face. It was a morphing face, it went from a spiders face to the face of a woman. I tried to strike again, and again I was blocked. I jumped back,

"Lose the spiders and let's fight, you and me only." I spat. She waved her children aside and slowly walked over to me.

"Now it's time to get serious." I said.

"Where is Emma? It is her destiny for her to die today." She asked calmly. Then I snapped.

"You bastard!" I was screaming at her as I tried to stab her.

"You will never lay your hands on her!" I managed to cut off one of her legs, but she was unfazed. I sheathed my dagger, I formed my dark bomb in my left hand. Once I did I saw a reaction, the expression shifted from confidence to wariness. She didn't know what that could do, and she should be scared. I married one of her strikes, and raced to her body. I blasted her with it. It launched her back so far so fast that it was like teleportation. Once the smoke cleared I heard a maniacal laugh,

"Hahahahahaha!!" I raced after her,

"I would have been killed if I hadn't morphed into this you bastard!" She screamed. Once the smoke cleared from the blast I almost puked, I was looking at a massive spider with the face of a woman. The massive spider body was a deep shade of green and black, it was riddled with hairs and scars. Once I looked at the womens face I had to look away, she had eight eyes and large fangs growing out of her mouth.

"Yes, Emma's mother, Athena made me this way. That cursed goddess!" She spat, saliva dripping from her massive face.

"Ill kill her daughter, then i'll go kill that damned goddess!" She began to scream frantically now.

"You hear me ATHENA!!" She screamed.

"But first I have to deal with you," She said. "Argos!!" I screamed in my head, he raced from the nearby battlefield to help me. He stood in front of me facing the spider queen, ready to attack.

"No Argos, go get Emma. Bring her here. I want her to watch as I kill this rejected queen" I spat. He raced off, and I began my plan to win this fight. I planned on buying Argos time till he brought emma here, then we could kill her together. Moments later, I saw her racing towards me, ready to fight. In the split second that I looked away I felt something pierce my gut. I looked down and saw that one of her massive legs had impaled me,

"shit.." I thought. I collapsed, my eyes shut. But I was still able to hear everything.

"You bitch!" Emma screamed.

"DO something, you puny child." The spider queen spat. Emma's voice became steely,

"I will." She said. She clapped her hands together and I felt a massive rise in her magical power,

"AHHHHHH!" she screamed. I tried to open my eyes but my body wouldn't move, it was trying to heal itself using the power of darkness. I forced my body to move, my eyes fluttered open. I saw in awe of what I saw, a massive warrior wearing the mask of an owl.

"I Will not lose to you!" The warrior boomed. "Bring it on!" Arcane screamed. The two massive bodies clashed, and within moments the spider queen was caught under foot of the massive warrior.

"Face it Arcane, when it comes to protecting something they love, fear plays no factor!" Emma screamed.

"DIE" Emma screamed, within a second Arcane was squashed like a bug. Emma's power faded and she collapsed on the spot, I began to crawl over to her, the hole in my gut burning and bleeding.

"I have to get to her…" I said to myself. I kept crawling despite the pain, I placed my hand on her cheek. I could see she was crying, she was shaking. I was burning with pain but I locked eyes with her and smiled. I could feel myself fading into unconsciousness,

"stay.. Alive.." I whispered to her.

"You.. too.." she said back. We collapsed in each other's arms and faded into unconsciousness together.
