The Beginning Of War

As I awoke in the infirmary beside Emma, I felt a flood of joy as I saw her chest rise and fall with her breathing.

"Good she's alive." I thought to myself. I looked down at my own body, I was actually restrained in my bed, my hands and feet tied down. I Looked at Emma and saw she was lying peacefully in her bed,

"Why only me?" I asked. I was beginning to regain my senses, my body was in a state of constant pain, and my stomach was on fire. I could see the tubes streaming from my body like I was some kind of mad experiment in a lab. I looked around trying to find some help without waking emma. I had to do a double take of who I saw, my mother. My last memory of her was when she was screaming,

"You have to understand!" at me. But she looked like a totally new woman, her smile was brighter and she looked happier. I tried to call her but my voice came out cracked and the horse,

"Mm..o.m" Was all I could manage. So I did the only thing I could do, I just stared at her, I was almost brought to tears, she looked so happy. She looked at me, and a shocked expression exploded on her face.

"Oh my sweet baby boy!" she screamed as she ran inside my room. She was about to give me a hug but she saw the state my body was in,

"How are you feeling?" she asked. I could feel myself brimming with emotion. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes,

"Mm..oo..mm" I stammered, my voice still shaky. I began to cry, my tears flowing down my face.

"Why...are you...here" I asked. "Borus summoned me, I wanted to see my son. I know about everything, the war, your father. All of it." She said, spilling out everything. I got in my head a little bit,

"Mom, how did you meet dad?" I asked. That stopped her in her tracks,

"Well son, it all started on a rainy day." She began,

"I was living in my apartment when I heard a frantic knock on the door." She kept talking, her eyes twinkling at the thought.

"I opened the door and there stood a tall, dark haired, handsome man in a black cloak. When lightning flashed I could see that he was hurt, he was cut up from cheek to cheek. I let him in and grabbed some bandages, but when I got back to him his injuries were healed." She said, her voice filled with glee.

"After that he explained who he was, and who he was running from. See son your father had a arch nemesis, a feud with a certain titan since the beginning of time." She said, joy filling her voice. Now I was actually interested,

"Who?" I asked.

"Hyperion," Her voice shook at that name.

"Your father couldn't even beat that blasted titan, that fight at the beginning of time is what started the story of darkness is bad and light is all the goodie good stuff." She said, her voice sarcastic.

"That is the reason your father was running in the first place, he challenged the titan. And lost…" She trailed off.

"I told him that it doesn't matter what happened, he was still his own man, and one thing led to another. You popped out nine months later." She said with a smile.

"Those nine moths before you were born were the best times I had with your father, sadly he couldn't be around for you." She said her voice now was sad.

"But I still have his ring." I said, holding up my hand.

"And i've met him, he taught me things, granted it was a time of great need for me but he was there." I said, remembering the time where he trained me in the ways of his techneices.

"Your father said countless times over that you'd be greater than all of the celestial beings combined." She said.

"I always thought he meant it as a joke but now I know how real he was being." She continued, her eyes tearing up. She placed her hand on my face,

"I'm so proud of you my son, I'm sure your father is too." She said.

"I have a fair warning if you ever run into the Nyx person, stay away. She's your fathers, godly wife." She said,

"Don't worry, I'll do something about her too." I said, my voice shaky. I was about to continue when Borus rushed in,

"There's been a visitor!" He barked. My attention shifted,

"Who" I asked.

"Thesus," He said.

"What did he say." I asked, my voice steely.

"The First Great Mythological War has just begun… He wrote that in blood on the hospital roof." He said, his voice unnervingly gloom. I snapped right into action, I had a bad feeling that this was going to happen sooner rather than later.

"Ready the troops. We need to keep them updated, and Summon the AMF we need for a meeting." I kept barking commands, but Borus was still standing in a daze.

"Borus?" My mom asked.

"What happened?" My mom asked.

"Hope.. has been taken hostage." He said. I knew he'd use tactics like this the damned fool. I could feel my rage beginning to surface, my body's pain rising with it.

"Get. Me. Out." I spat,

"I need to find her." My mother began helping me with the restraints and IV's, Borus ran out of the room to go carry out my orders. I got up and put my cloak on, I felt every inch of pain travel my entire body. But that didn't matter, I had to save Hope. I had to, she was a piece to solving the puzzle of how to deal with the titans. I raced out of the hospital, once I breached the doors I saw Jesus standing in front of me, he had Hope at knifepoint right in front of him. I had to remain calm, despite my overwhelming urge to rip his arms off and beat him with them. He looked at me with a smug expression on his face.

"Let her go." I said, my voice strangely calm.

"You want her, come get her." He spat, pressing the blade closer and closer to her neck.

"Wait! What do you want!" I barked.

"HER!!" He spat instantly, I knew what he meant. He wanted Emma, I couldn't let that happen. "I know she's in the behind you, somewhere in there." He said, gesturing to the infermerary. Damn it! I kept thinking of a plan but there wasn't one I could come up with.

"NO! I won't let you have her!" I screamed.

"Josh," A calm voice said.

"It's ok, I'll go willingly. Just bring me back, Ok?" I turned around to see Emma standing there.

"No! You can't go!" I screamed. By that time a massive group of soldiers had surrounded Thesus.

"Everyone back off! Let me leave with her if she wants to go!" Thesus screamed. Emma placed her hand on my shoulder,

"Please." She pleaded. I stood there, no clue how to react.

"Come ON Emma!" Thesus barked. She slowly walked over, then she traded places with Hope.

"Let them go." I said solemnly.

"Finally you come to your senses." Thesus barked smugly.

"Oh I haven't, I'm just waiting for the right time to obliterate you. You father told me to bring you home, but i don't think there's any choice left now." I said, my eyes beginning to glow blood red.

"Theseus is no longer welcome here, if he is seen he is to be killed on sight. No let them leave." I barked. They began walking towards the gate, I could feel my chance slipping through my fingers. They raced off, Emma still at knife point.

"Remember what I told you!" She screamed.

"Stay alive!" I remembered.

"You too!" I screamed back. I raced after them,

"I swear I'll save you!" I screamed after them.

"THESEUS! I swear I'll kill you for this! You scumbag I'LL KILL YOU!!" I kept screaming. I could see the smug smile on his face,

"YOU BASTARD!!" I screamed as they faded into the distance. I walked back towards the group of soldiers,

"We are at war, I know you all heard that he said that. We need to be ready, I'm starting a training program I'LL be the overseer. Call a meeting of the AMF, and we need to be prepared!" I barked.

"It is a unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war, but if we don't end this, it WILL end us!! But this will be the war to end all wars! This is the first Mythological war, and if I have to lay my life on the line i'll make sure it is the LAST!!" I screamed, I raised my fist.

"Hoorah!" The soldier's cried. They were ready for war, ready to give their lives and their hearts to the first thought of peace.

"NOW GO!" I barked. They disbanded, Borus came up to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"What's next?" He asked.

"Im ending this." I spat. "What if you make a wrong choice?" He asked, obviously referring to my death threats at Theseus.

"No matter what kind of wisdom dictates the options you pick, no one will be able to tell you if it's right or wrong until you arrive at some sort of outcome, resulting from your choice. The only thing we are allowed to do is believe that we won't regret the choices we made." I said, my voice icy calm. I walked away straight towards the arena, eager to start my training program
