Victor's eyes opened slowly. The blinding light made his eyes hurt, making him squint. He noticed he was, in fact, in the hospital. He sat up and looked around his hospital room. It was so plain. The light gray walls had nothing but doctors equipment and one television on it. His mother was sitting in a chair right beside the bed, her head in her hands.
"Mère?" Victor called to his mother.
"Oh, mon fils!" His mother exclaimed.
"How long have I been out?" Victor asked.
"Two hours..." She sighed.
"Oh, wow. What happened?"
"You passed out at school, remember?"
"But why?"
"Doctor says you 'haven't been taking good care of your body,' which is obviously not it."
He looked at his mother, face full of guilt. His mother looked at him confused, slowly realizing the fault in her words.
"Victor. You need to eat. I didn't think I had to tell you this, I thought it was common sense."
"I'm sorry, Mom. I just haven't had the appetite."
"Just promise me you won't be that reckless again."
"I promise. When can I go home?" Victor asked eagerly.
"I'll have to go speak with Doctor Delentori." She replied, getting out of her seat.
After his mom left the room Victor sighed deeply. He had learned a ton in his recent visit to Elysia. He couldn't believe Sabastian was Severin and what did Angelina mean by when she said he wasn't the same? He had so many questions.
Hey, Annie? What did Angelina mean by when she said Sabastian wasn't the same? Victor asked.
I'm afraid I can not answer you. Annie replied in a very wise voice.
Why not? Do you not know the answer? Victor wondered, clearly oblivious.
I do know the answer, I just don't feel like telling you. Annie answered carefully.
Oh, come on! All the important stuff is the stuff you can't tell me! Victor argued.
It is for a very good reason.
I need more details. Victor thought.
Ok, ok. Most people sent here from Earth are sent here to protect the world of Elysia, while some others are sent here to help the evil wizard, Diabolos. All of the people who were sent here to protect Elysia will soon meet in a secret place. That is all I can tell you. Annie told him very astutely.
When will we? How will I know? Victor thought eagerly.
You will be sent a calling of some kind. You will immediately know where to go when you get the calling. Annie answered.
How will I know I'm being sent the calling? What if I awake during the meet? Victor asked.
A deep voice will talk to you like I talk to you. While the meet, on Earth its normal time will proceed although everyone that participates in this 'war' from Earth will be passed out or in something like a coma. It will stay that way till we either win the fight or the evils win. Annie answered.
Good to know.
Then, his mother walked in with Dr. Delentori. Dr. Delentori was an Australian doctor with nice, combed brown hair and a long white lab coat.
"Hello, Victor! How are you feeling?" He asked cheerfully.
"I'm feeling pretty good." Victor answered positively.
"That's good, Victor. Do you feel dizzy in any way?" He studied the clipboard he had in his hands.
"No, sir." Victor replied.
"Headache?"
"Nope."
"Stomach ache?"
"No, sir."
"I think you are good to go home then! Just relax, okay?" Dr. Delentori told him, a big comforting smile spread across his face.
"Hallelujah." Victor sighed happily.
"Just sign out at the front desk, okay?" The doctor told them.
"Of course! Thank you very much!" Ms. Angelose agreed cheerfully.
"Anytime, Amélie!" He answered, walking out of the room and down the hall.
"Hey, mom?" Victor started.
"Hey what?" Amélie asked.
"Can we go see Angelina while we are here?" Victor asked hesitantly.
"Oh, um, of course." His mother answered hesitantly.
"Thanks a bunch, mère." Victor thanked, getting out of the hospital bed, then grabbing his clothes and going into the bathroom to change out of the hospital gown.
After he was done, Amélie and Victor walked down the hall to room 303. Victor had been mentally preparing himself the whole walk. He hadn't seen Angie's "twin" in a long time. In fact the last day he saw her was when all of this mayhem started. When Victor saw the silver, shiny numbers that read 303 he gulped, preparing himself.
They entered the room and Victor's eyes immediately went to Angelina's lifeless body. His mother said hello to someone, which Victor noticed was Angelina's mother, sitting at Angelina's side. Victor almost didn't dare go closer, but he did anyway. Her beautiful strawberry-blond hair laid across her shoulders, and her nose was covered by many brown freckles. Victor tried his best to keep his breathing steady. He could hear the two mothers' whispering. Victor stared at Angelina. It felt like it had been forever since he had spoken with her, but in reality it had been only about two hours ago, not even that. But, it had been since the day she fell in this coma that he had seen her exquisite face. In Elysia, Angelina had a different face than in the real world, and so did Victor, and you can't forget Marick and Sabastian. So, it had been, in fact, a big time period since he had seen her original face. Victor couldn't help but sigh. Then, he noticed the mothers staring at him.
"It, it has been awhile, Mrs. Barrings." Victor stated hesitantly.
"Yes, yes it has. Also it isn't Mrs. Barrings, it is Ms. Halo."
"Oh ok. How, um, have you been?" Victor asked.
"I really want to say great, but you know, it isn't great." Ms. Halo sighed, ushering towards the torpid body of her daughter.
Silence beckoned them.
"Where's Marshall?" Amélie asked Ms. Halo.
"He's working." Ms. Halo sighed annoyingly.
"Who's Marshall?" Victor asked.
"Her father." Victor's mother answered.
"Oh." Victor said.
"Is she getting better, health wise?" Ms. Angelose asked Ms. Halo.
"According to the doctor nothing has changed but he guesses she will start getting better soon. We are watching her 24/7, hoping she'll wake up." Angie's mother replied sadly.
"That's great, right?" Victor cried hopefully.
"Well, yes-" Ms. Halo answered.
"That means she can wake up soon!" Victor exclaimed happily.
"Well, not exactly," Amélie told him hesitantly.
Just as fast as the happiness came, the happiness left. Victor immediately felt terrible for being so hopeful. Every single time he was hopeful, it was crushed unbelievably fast. Victor looked back at Angelina then his eyes began to well up.
"Um, how about we leave sweetie?" His mother suggested.
"Yeah, yes, please. I can't bear to see her like this." Victor answered, turning his back away from the mothers, then wiping a tear that had just barely escaped his eyes.
"Would you like to come for lunch tomorrow at our place, Cindy? You really do need to get out of the hospital and talk to someone. I am open to talk to you, you know." Amélie asked Ms. Halo.
"Sure, why not. It will be good for me." Cindy Halo answered.
"Géniale!" Ms. Angelose exclaimed.
"What?" Cindy asked, clearly confused.
"Oh I'm terribly sorry! Géniale is great in french." Amélie informed her.
"Neat. The more you know I guess." Cindy laughed. "Wow, it has been awhile since I last laughed."
"I believe it. We should really get going. Goodbye!" Amélie emphasized.
"Goodbye, Amélie," Cindy replied.
Victor and his mother walked out of the room and to the front desk to check out. After they checked out they went to the car and drove away from the hospital. When the two were parked in their driveway, they both sat there for a solid two minutes. Victor couldn't even control what he was thinking about. His mind was like a car in the first place, doing a car race. His mother's head was probably the same. After a while, Victor finally stepped out of the car and ran into the house, then up the stairs to his bedroom, or what most parents would call it, his dungeon.
