As they sat down on their seats, Bennett had finally recovered from his dizziness and looked around the auditorium.
"Wow... it's huge!" he unconsciously said.
"Mhm, wait, quiet down for now." David said, he saw a few traces of mana backstage, people were moving and they seemed to get ready for today's orientation.
"Huh? Is it going to start soon or something?" he asked.
"Yes, I can sense the people behind the stage." David replied. For others, if they were at least a whole tier above them, let alone a whole realm threshold above them, they wouldn't be able to sense a thing, and instead, they would seem like normal people to others.
For him, he would be able to sense them and give somewhat of a reasonable guess as long as they aren't 2 realm thresholds above him, at which, all he could sense is a mountain of aura, pushing down at him.
The lights in the auditorium had all turned on by now, and all the students had taken a seat, some expectantly staring at the stage, some uninterested, some who were talking with their friends, etc.
As there seemed to be at least a few hundred to a thousand students, the chatter was quite loud, like one of those popular nightclubs where you would barely hear anything around you.
In one moment, a horrifying aura spilled out and spread throughout the room, making the originally rowdy auditorium turn dead quiet.
It even had David shaking in fear, 'Must be a rank 5 powerhouse, whoever's there is much stronger than mother and father' he thought in amazement.
'Seems like my time shouldn't be wasted here at all.' He smirked, quickly getting used to the oppressive aura around him.
*Tap... tap... tap...*
Footsteps rang out throughout the auditorium, and everyone looked to where the sound came from.
The instructors, professors, and the supposed headmaster had all came out of backstage, each wearing a different uniform, the instructors with their cape and priest-like uniform, the professors with their lab coats and emblem on the left breast, and the headmaster with his light grey tuxedo and brown... tie...
'This doesn't feel like a fantasy world right now... feels like we're back in school.' David thought to himself.
He looked back at Bennett, who was like the other students, following the figures of everyone that came out backstage.
The people on the stage had gotten into their positions by the time everyone had snapped out of their daze, staring at the people on the stage with admiration. They did just have a test and get their asses handed to them yesterday, there were some arrogant nobles from place to place who did cast a few hostile glares, but they were mostly ignored.
The 'headmaster' stepped onto the podium in the middle of the stage, getting a good view of everyone in the auditorium.
"Hello, students of Balfone Academy! I am Sebastian Nefla, the headmaster of this academy. I welcome you to our academy as you are now elites, whether you are a commoner, beastmen, or nobles, you shall now be treated with respect and equality from the royal decree."
"This academy was made to produce strong graduates able to help the country in any way possible and to give others the chance to show their skills and give everyone more options when one doesn't work out."
"We will give everyone a safe place to study for, to strengthen ourselves, to strengthen our home in this country!"
There was actually quite a bit more to the speech, but it was automatically memorized by David as he dozed off, more interested in the area around him. Technology can be surprising at times after all, especially in a world where some fundamental laws are way different than Earth's.
A dozen minutes later...
The speech ended, and everyone was allowed to leave for their 'homeroom' classes given to them through the announcements made throughout the event in the auditorium.
David grabbed Bennett's hand to pull him out of the seat he was sitting in, "Come on, we've got to get to homeroom, man."
"Ah! Yeah... got it..." David let go of his hand seeing that he could move normally again.
He picked up his satchel and gave Bennett his and headed towards one of the doors to exit the temple.
Bennett ran after him after seeing that they were close to being late, or rather, the changing class time is a bit short.
They entered one of the doors that lit up with the word exit and exited the temple. The two and other students had all spread out as all of these students had different homerooms.
Seeing that Bennett was slightly lost even when he was following David, he sighed and gave him a copy of the map that Sarah gave him about the school, 'He forgot to bring it didn't he...'
"Thanks, bro! But I'll follow you anyway, so I don't need it!" Bennett grinned, putting the paper into his satchel.
Nodding, David went to one of the smaller buildings since there were only 4 buildings for different homerooms. This was to keep some type of closeness with everyone, one for the recommended students, one for the nobles, one for the commoners/humans, and the other one for beastmen/women.
Going to the [Recommended Homeroom] building, there doesn't seem to be that many floors, only about 3 floors, one for each year.
The building was the most modern of the buildings, with the flat roof, steel grey color, and automatic doors on the outside with tons of windows which didn't seem to be showing what was going on inside those rooms.
Entering the building, it was like what you would find at a regular school, hallways to the other floors, a front office for help, potted plants, carpets, stuff like that.
"Not bad..." David commented at the interior.
"Welp, no time to admire." David started to power walk seeing the other students beginning to enter.
A few minutes later...
The two boys and the other students arrived at the same classroom, including the teacher, there seemed to be only around 16 people in the classroom.
The teacher was an average-looking man in his late-20s with his lab coat and glasses. Walking to the small podium in the front of the classroom, he placed his hands on the teacher's table.
"Hello, students. Welcome to homeroom."
