What Luck

Morning

*groan* As I was waking up for the day I was greeted by a sleeping Himawari who was still hugging me. 'Aw so cute' I thought as I began shaking her awake.

"*yawn* Not now, five more minutes" croaked Himawari.

"Oh so you're gonna do that, might as well tickle you awake" I playfully threatened while reaching to her side of her stomach. And just as I was about to tickle Himawari, she suddenly disappeared.

"Onii-chan you're playing a dangerous game right now" I looked behind me and I could see Himawari as she looked at me with those scary eyes that mom uses. 'Oh no it's those eyes, please, please, no not again' I thought as I began hyperventilating.

"Hey Onii-chan calm down please, come on now please" Himawari begged while shaking me with her Byakugan deactivated. But I couldn't hear her as I began to have flashbacks of when Himawari unlocked her Byakugan.

Flashback

It's a wonderful day outside, flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and on days like these, my father will is become the Hokage. And today is that day, my father has been chosen to be the Hokage and people are arriving for the Hokage inauguration. And we would be there already if my sister keeps on arguing that she takes her pink stuffed plushie.

"Come on Himawari, why do you bother me to bring it if you going to make me hold it later on in the day," I asked while pulling on her plushie.

"NO, I want to take it with me" she argued back while also pulling on the plushie.

I guess our combined strength and the physical stress of our pulling became too much as the next thing I noticed was that Himawari was on the ground with one half of the plushie. And looking to my right hand I could see the other half of the plushie.

'Oh man,' I thought as I began to approach Himawari.

"Hey, um, well I'm sorry but if you didn't pull too hard then this wouldn't have happened" I berated.

Before I could reach out to collect all the cotton, I was smacked in the face by my sister. Looking at her in shock, I began touching my face and flinching every time I touched my face. I tried getting up but she was too fast and kicked me down in the face. With the adrenalin gone from the first attack, I could feel that one.

"OW, Himawari what was that for" I yelled while trying to get up. Expecting an answer I headed towards Himawari but her head was still down. As I finally approached her, she slowly raised her head and I could see the anger in her eyes.

Looking at her in fear I begin to back away while she would follow me with every footstep I took. Then I could see veins appear from her eyes 'Hey that looks like mom's eyes' I thought while I turned around a began running.

But I never had a chance as she grabbed my clothes and she began throwing me around. Finally having enough with she threw me out of the living and I landed near the stairs.

"Boruto what's going on" I looked to my left and I could see my dad looking at me in worry and confusion.

"Dad help me, Himawari has suddenly become strong" I yelled but looking ahead I could see Himawari approach me.

Looking me in the eyes she said "Locked on" before rushing me. I covered myself, waiting for the strike but it never came. Looking forward again I could see my dad take the hit for me but the next thing he fell on the ground unconscious.

This seemed to catch Himawari's attention as she was looking at my dad. Taking the chance I bolted to the door only to find out that it was lock and I was t-t-to short to reach. Cursing my shortness I bolted upstairs to my parents' room. Once entering I began looking around to where I could hide. Hearing Himawari's footsteps on the stairs I looked at my parents' closet and quickly hid there.

"Onii-chan where are you, I just want to play" I heard Himawari as she walked into the room and began trashing it. I was about to move deeper into the closet until I heard footsteps outside the closet.

"There you are Onii-chan" chanted Himawari before opening the door.

Looking at her in fear as she closed the door behind her and that was the last thing as everything went black.

"Onii-chan!"

"Please wake up" I heard while slowly opening my eyes. After a few seconds of my eyes readjusting to the light, I could see my sister shaking me with tears in her eyes.

"Hey Himawari, what are you doing," I asked while sitting up in the bed.

I didn't get an answer as she just hugged me and cried on me. After a few seconds of me patting her back she responded: "You were breathing heavily and then you passed out and you wouldn't respond and I was so scared".

"Hehe, there's nothing to worry about, I am here now. I just remembered the first time you activated the Byakugan" I responded while Himawari still hugged me, muffling her sobbing.

After a few minutes of calming Himawari down, I began to get dressed for my C-rank mission. 'Oh man, I forgot about the mission' I thought as I soon activated my Henge and was about to leave until Himawari stopped me.

"What is it Himawari," I asked.

"Are you ok nii-chan" she questioned while looking at me with red eyes.

"I told you I'm okay, I just had a memory of a tragic event ok" I responded.

I quickly hug my sister and told her goodbye while I was jumping across the roofs of the building. After a few minutes of me hopping across roofs, I finally made it to the mission counter to where my teammates were waiting along with Konohamaru sensei.

"You're five minutes late Boruto" Sarada berated.

"I know, I'm sorry I was caught up helping Himawari" I panted.

"Is she okay," she asked in concern.

"Yeah she is, so can we get on with the mission, we are five minutes late," I asked.

Seeing that I have a point, Konohamaru pulled out a scroll and began telling us about our mission. "Okay our C-rank mission is to go to the Green Banks village and protect them from bandit attacks," said Konohamaru as he briefed us on our mission details.

"Okay, sound's simple enough," I said as I began to follow Konohamaru to the village gates.

At the Village Gates

"Okay, this will be about a three-hour run from here to Green Banks" claimed Konohamaru before running. We all looked at each other before following our sensei.

As we were running Sarada turned to me "You better not get in my way Boruto, don't make us fail the mission because of you".

"Shut up" I responded.

"Hey what's with the attitude," she asked.

"It's nothing" I responded.

But deep down everything is not fine, I managed to make my sister cry and I got to relive one of my most hated memories of all time. Well apart from me changing to a skeleton, but that doesn't matter. Looking ahead I could see Konohamaru and Mitsuki gaining speed. Deciding to go faster I ran past them and hoped that I would somehow make it to Green Banks quicker.

Two hours later

"Okay we're here" I heard Konohamaru shout before stopping in front of a draw bridge. Taking a good look at the bridge and its surrounding I could see some interesting stuff. One, there's a village behind as well as a watchtower right next to the other side of the bridge. Two, looking down I could see a ravine and the current was not looking soft so one of us falls, well game over.

As I finished observing my surroundings, our sensei walked up to a bell and rang it. After a few seconds, the draw bridge began to lower until both sides connected. And waiting for us on the other side was a girl and a slightly taller adult next to the girl.

"Hello, I see that you're the Leaf shinobi I asked for. But the question, why did you bring children here" the girl questioned as she stepped forward.

"Yes, we are the shinobi you sent out. So what's the situation in the village" Konohamaru asserted while ignoring her concern about us.

"Well we have been able to hold off the other villages' attacks but now we're dealing with other shinobi that they hired" she explained after walking away, motioning us to follow.

After a few minutes of walking around, I noticed some similar things about the villages. Like how all of the roofs of the buildings are the color green, who knew. No wonder why they call this the Green Banks Village. Anyways in front of us was again another green-colored building, which we were entering as the girl was mentioning us to follow her inside.

Finally entering a room, we all sat down as the girl and her follower sat in front of us.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kiri, the village head. And this is Matsuba, my 2nd in command" Kiri said as I look in shock that a little girl is the village head.

"Wait you're the head of the village," I asked still in shock.

"Yes I am, now may I ask that why did you bring children for this mission," Kiri asked Konohamaru.

'Oh wow, you're going to be like that' I thought while I was holding my hand toward Sarada who did not like the comment.

"Calm down guys, and to answer your question they are my team and I can trust them in this mission" Konohamaru reassured Kiri.

"So you said that you handled the village's attacks but now they hired shinobi," Konohamaru asked.

Nodding her head she replied, "Yes, and they are really powerful".

"Than this could be dangerous for you, are you sure you want to continue this"

"Yes, we are sure about this" we all replied.

*screech*

"What was that," I asked. Before they could answer I bolted out of the building and began heading towards the scream.

As I arrived where I heard the scream I was met with a gruesome sight. In front of me, I could see this huge, muscular guy stabbing an old person with a sword. Having none of it I pulled out my kunai and charged the man. He turned around and prepared to stab me but all of a sudden the whole world seemed to slow down. Finally stopping in my tracks, I looked around my surroundings to see what's going on.

A few seconds later my Jougan activated and I could see some sort of vision. In the vision was the same man I was charging earlier raising his sword and slashed down. And then the vision ended and I could see my surrounding began to move. Quickly I decided to continue charging at the man again.

Still looking at me he raised his sword-like in the vision, I quickly dodged to the left as the man's sword swung down to where I recently was. Finding an opportunity I quickly slashed his left arm before going for a stab in his right, but it was too late as the man recovered from his missed slash and parried me.

This time he swung his sword at me and I blocked but every time I blocked I would get knocked back.

"You have no backbone, that will be your demise" the man lectured while still swing his sword.

After many swings, he managed to knock my kunai off my hand and he was about to deliver the killing blow until "Ashimaru that's enough". After that this Ashimaru stopped his attack which was about three inches close to my collar bone, literally.

Looking up I could see another man who had face paint which is kind of similar to Ashimaru 'Maybe they work together'. Jumping up, Ashimaru stood next to this mysterious man, and then they left to simply put.

With that out of the way, did I mention that the grass is comfy because after the left I dropped on my ass from exhaustion? "Boruto", looking back I could see Sarada, Mitsuki, and many others arriving at the scene.

"I'm fine I was recently fighting this super strong dude, and then another one showed up and then they left" I explained while getting up.

"I'm glad that you are ok Boruto, but that was very stupid of you. And Kiri you said that your village was being attacked for gaining goods and supplies. Why didn't they steal anything, from what the people are saying, nothing has been stolen" Konohamaru questioned?

Sighing she responded "Okay I will tell you the truth, but only in private and at the village hall"

Nodding we all returned to the hall where we were having our conversation before I left to fight the shinobi. Entering the same room again I looked at Kiri with an annoyed expression that she looked down in shame.

"Ok, the reason why they are attacking the village is that they are after a deed that gives ownership to the river" she conceded as I hardened my glare at her.

"Ok see what's so bad about telling the truth," I said

"Ok, with that out of the way we are going to devise a plan for those shinobi at night" Konohamaru ordered as he pulled out a map as he, Sarada, and Mitsuki began discussing the plan.

While I was thinking about what happened during my fight with Ashimaru. 'What was that, everything was at a standstill and then I saw a vision which turned out to be true' I thought. 'Those that mean that I can see the future!' I wondered excitedly nearly jumping in the room.

"Ok that's done Boruto did you get that," Sarada asked me.

"Oh yeah," I shouted, not paying attention to them.

"Then at night we shall wait, get some rest" Konohamaru announced as we all began to do our stuff for the next few hours.

A few hours later

"Alright we're in position" Sarada exclaimed as she and I were hiding in a tree while Konohamaru and Mitsuki were hiding in another spot.

"Alright, so what's the plan," I asked as Sarada looked at me in annoyance.

"Did you forget, we were to stay here and watch for any signs of attack" she explained as she returned to looking for anything.

"Oh uh yeah, right" I responded while looking away in embarrassment.

After a few minutes there seemed to be a fire in a storage hut near our position. So we both headed to where the fire and as we arrived I could see the cause as there was a burnt-up arrow lodged in the building.

While we were looking around a random villager with a farming tool began attacking me.

"Hey what are you doing" I demanded while I was dodging his wild swings.

The man said no answer and kept attacking me and I began to notice more villagers, with weapons., surrounding us. I stood back to back with Sarada until Konohamaru and Mitsuki joined in our little circle.

"Hey these guys started attacking us for no reason and they won't answer my questions" I declared after dodging another attack.

"Hmm, it seems that they are under a Genjutsu" Konohamaru stated while retaliating a random villagers strike.

"Yes it seems so, everyone seems affected but I can't find the original caster of this" Sarada stated with her Sharingan activated.

"Mitsuki can you use a Wind Jutsu to knock everyone off but also dispel the Genjutsu at the same time" Konohamaru ordered.

With all of us prepared for the Jutsu, Mitsuki summoned a huge gust of wind that for those who aren't shinobi, aka every villager, did not withstand. They all flew in different directions and began to get up but this time more aware of their surroundings.

"Hey are you guys alright," I asked as I began checking some villagers to see if they're not injured.

"Yeah we're alright, but how did I get here," a villager asked.

"That's not important right now, just go back home and get some rest" I reassured as I began to regroup with my team.

As we were walking back to our rendezvous point were then stopped by Matsuba who looked very scared right now.

"Help the village head has been captured by two shinobi's" he shouted while heading towards us.

"What are you serious about, where did they go," I asked franticly.

"They were heading west to the mountains" Matsuba replied.

"Ok, we are going to go get Kiri while you stay and keep the village in order" Konohamaru ordered as we began to head west to where Kiri was held, hostage.

At the mountains

It's been a few hours since the kidnapping of Kiri and we were getting more worried about the safety of the village head. But as luck would have it, on the first sight of the mountain we could see a tied-up Kiri and two shinobi along with a guy whos dead from... Ashimaru's sword.

'That guy has a problem with people' I thought as we both landed in front of the two shinobi.

"Ah, the shinobi of the leaf village has decided to grace us with their presence" the guy right next to Ashimaru claimed. 'He must be the leader' I thought as I became prepared for any sneak attacks.

"Who are you people" Konohamaru questioned.

"Glad you asked this one here is Ashimaru while my name is Hidari" Hidari claimed.

"Boruto you take care of Ashimaru I'll take care of Hidari" Konohamaru claimed before charging to said man.

"Hey Ashimaru, want a rematch to come and get it" I taunted as I mentioned Mitsuki and Sarada to follow.

Guess my taunt worked a bit too well as we were soon bombarded with random types of Jutsu from Ashimaru. And we kept dodging and running, leading Ashimaru to any open area so we can fight.

"Alright you the plan right, Team 7 Stream," I asked while they nodded in agreement.

Pulling out a kunai I and Mitsuki rushed at Ashimaru. I attacked first by sliding under his legs and tried to slash him from behind. But he quickly dodged it and began attacking me with his swords and just like last time, every hit leads me open from his brute force. While distracted Mitsuki used his Lightning Snake Jutsu from behind, which surprisingly worked. Unfortunately, he only grunted and focused his assault on Mitsuki only leaving me and his backside wide open for me. Wasting no time I tied an explosive tag on my Kunai and threw it at Ashimaru. Hitting his shoulder and exploding on him.

After the smoke cleared, his right shoulder was nothing but black and bloody, I could even see a little bone showing. He must've not liked that one as he grabbed me and Mitsuki and slammed our heads together before throwing us to where Sarada is.

"Ok Boruto, Mitsuki now's the time" she claimed before jumping in the air. Nodding to each other we both began concentrating our wind energy on our palms. And once Sarada landed on our palms we released the wind energy, launching her at high speed.

Smirking Ashimaru raised his sword and slashed down to where Sarada was. The next thing I heard was the loudest crack, for me. Hearing the sound I immediately began to sit down as I had the feeling the battle was over.
