TIME TO BREAK THE LIE

After years of regret and more school with cancelling and moaning, I wanted answers as I matured more. All those past years, I could tell the story of what happened in Ghana like it was yesterday. I could recall word to word, scene to scene and tears would continue building anger and hatred as I remember James; Makhadiya and Anele.

One time after school, I took a taxi to Zenzeni. Entering the hood, every kid and teenager stopped moving. Everyone's eyes hailed like I was a legend. Whilst approaching Pot's house, Mabhikisha whistled the code of hail. A bit of happiness filled my soul and after so long, I felt I could smile. Everyone came out to the streets to see what was happening. Mabhikisha couldn't stop hailing, that the whole hood of Zenzeni repeated the hail after him. Azanda; Lorraine; Mabhikisha; the other guy Ayabonga who was now addressed as Razor; Msebenzi who was now the boss or should I use the term Jefe, and Bokamoso who was now addressed to as Britain together with the two kids we took back in 2009 at Ghana, they all hailed;

"Ndoda enguGcibha!!" But these two couldn't say it properly.

"UGcibha okangakanani?"(who am I) I asked.

"UGcibha indoda enguMSADENARIYU umaqhuz' igatsha k'qhuzuke inkanyezi yeMpumalanga kuntrole eyeNtshona, yizo lezo ndodandoda"(MSADENARIYU the great 2*7 whom rules from East to West, that's who you are) said Msebenzi, showing that he acknowledges my presence and he's ready to bow and abide by my ruling.

I left them and went in the Pot's house, with a smile he was waiting for me. At his lounge chair, I sat without saying a word. I looked straight into his eyes and I could figure out that, he knew am about to address distraction and chaos for him;

With my leg on top of the other, "Wosh Adios".

Adios answered, "Ziphi‽"

" ZiseNtshona z'khamandela abakhamandeli abashikisisa umTime"(in our lives there are traitors using our time), I responded.

Adíos faced down with respect to my presence, Pot didn't understand but he was slowly nodding.

"Ammaliatore huh? The charmer? Who have you charmed? The Devil? Well you are about to burn in his house."

"What do you mean MSANRA?" frowning he asked.

"Tell me something. Are you really a 2*7? Are you really a southern? Who are you? Why did Adizolab address to you as 'brother'? What did he mean when he said you left home? Who are you Ammaliatore?"

"Je suis Pusto Guzza, le fils de la grande Kima Guzza. Adizolab et Adoma sont mes frères de sang, nous avons les mêmes gènes. Je viens du Ghana"(I am Pusto Guzza, the son of the great Kima Guzza. Adizolab and Adoma are my blood brothers, we have the same genes. I'm from Ghana), Pot answered.

"Adios is your story true?" shacking my head at Pot after hearing nothing of what he said.

"My story is true but I never told it in detail."

"Now it's time Adios. The time is now."

Lorraine entered the room and could feel it was tense;

"What's happening with you men? A hero had entered our lands and you are so sour."

"Sit down Lorraine, someone is about to tell his story."

"At the age of 20 years, I got shipped to Kenya. Me and my friends were drunk that night, we drove to the coast of Asia night to night. Banging bimbos and drunk from hootch, we didn't feel life then. We were spending my older brother's first salary, he first prepared us passports earlier and then we traveled. Reaching the coast we had gayety. After our first party, we saw a ship and we went to it with our girlfriends. The ship was so big and B classed if am not mistaken, there were books there and my drunk girlfriend teared a piece of paper from one of those books. With ink, she wrote "Adíos mi amor" and she put that piece of paper in the pocket of my shirt. She and her friends said they were going to look for a rest room, then they left us on that part of the ship. We sat there until I dozed off. The next thing I heard were noises from the trucks at a depo, I was in a crate. Don't ask how, I don't know."

The two new kids entered the room too, they saw us paying attention to Adios and so they did.

"I woke up, off the crate I stood up and Ammaliatore pulled me with my neck, asking who I was. Still confused was I, I couldn't answer him. He searched me and found that note, written "Adios mi amor". I think he thought I am Adios because it was written starting with a capital letter. He was working with Adoma and Adizolab but there were complications between the three of them, then he took me and we left to here in South Africa. He had a passport with him but I didn't have, entering South Africa I was arrested. I was imprisoned with the number gang and I was with the coloureds, I learned to speak Afrikaans and Zulu by force. After 6 years before Ammaliatore could take me out of Jail, I was uGcibha. A year later, he came for me and we came here at Zenzeni."

"Then what's your name?", The girl asked.

"I am Xavier Gonzalez", Adios answered.

I clapped hands laughing out and turned to Pot,

"Remind me. Who are you?"

"I'm... I am.. am Pusto ...Guzza", stuttering he answered.

"Things should change around here", I said.

Again, "Then you two who are you and how did you find yourselves here?" I asked the two kids;

"We are the seed of Rodriguez, I am Itzel and my sister is Miah. We are from a wealthy family but our aunt sold us to my father's enemies, they raped her and sold us to Ghana, where you guys found us."

"Itzel and Miah welcome to the family. Where are you from?", I asked.

"We are from Puebla City at Mexico", Miah answered.

"One day we should take a visit there. Now, Pot answer to me until your breath is no more."

Everyone opened their eyes like I did something. Pot felt powerless and did not answer me.

"Forever be quiet Pot. From today you do as I say without questioning. Ng'gcwele ngokuthi uyay' bamba."( I hope you get me).

"Xavier. Lemme call you "X", call in every boss we have got, it's time to change things around here"

It's time to rise.
